  1. I think someone needs to adjust the gameplay sliders on this video game!
  2. Dude, why do you care? I suggest you don't click on or post on any new poll/rumors/speculation threads. What's wrong with these threads? Some of us don't have much else in the college football world to get excited about these days, so I don't see the harm in them. Sure, they get ridiculous at times, but what's the big deal? If you don't like them, don't read them. Let others conduct the discussion that they want to conduct.
  3. But Bo's only winning the vote for who people think will be the next coach. That doesn't mean that's who everyone wants. Someone should do a poll (I don't know how) with those same candidate options asking people who they would want to be the next coach, if that hasn't already been done. Because this poll doesn't really tell us much except for what most of the rumors are saying.
  4. In order to tear down the goal posts, you have to be able to get into the end zone...so yeah, your goal posts are safe...at least until the fourth quarter when the game has usually been out of reach. Get your jabs in while you can, wee man. But just beware of what you say because Nebraska is still Nebraska, which means we know we'll get a great coach to come in here and turn things around. The only question is how long it will take. So don't think that Husker Nation isn't taking every comment into its elephantine memory, which we will use as feul, ala the Patriots, when we embarrass all of you by stuffing that extra "eff you" TD down your throat with our fullback with :15 seconds left in the game when we're already up 52-6. So please, keep it coming. Just having some fun with you all. I've been a fan of the Huskers since the 70's and I'm taking as much crap about them up here this year as everybody else is. Can't help but like the Cyclones though...no matter how long the odds are, the fans still show up in droves and are either delusional or drunk enough to think they stand a chance of winning. Gotta love a team and fans that know they suck but are going to have a great time upholding their "suckiest" reputation. I hear you - I was just giving you a hard time. Though now I feel bad for you that you now have two favorite teams that are crap. I know how you feel though since my other team is UCLA. Both of my teams will be competing for coaches soon!
  5. Seriously? Zac Taylor is your favorite NU QB ever? Don't get me wrong, I love the kid because he has such moxy, but wow; you're passing by some real gems. For me, I was too young to appreciate Gill or earlier QBs, so Frazier and Crouch are definitely at the top of my list. To each his own, but I've just never heard anyone say that before. He sure was a tough SOB!
  6. I understand that, but I'm looking for an open honest assessment of what will propel us into the elite powers once again. I think this year is seriously just a freak year and the assumptions that parity is here are hogwash. Next year, I think the top programs will once again dominate and things will be back the way they were, it always has been that way and will not change IMO. But I want to know from everyone; what diversification we will need to win again successfully against everyone and not just the lower programs. The best offense is the one the new coach installs, is most comfortable with, best underrstands, and best fits the personnel on hand. No coach is going to come here if he thinks he will be expected to run a particular offensive scheme instead of his own. You get a great coach, and any offense will work. Well no shizzle, but since we will have the option (no pun intended) to pick any coach we want we can also pick what kind of offense we would want in the process. Nobody is suggesting to hire a west coast O guy to come run the power I. The better question is whether the next head coach will be able to decide what kind of an offense he wants or if Osborne will basically tell the new coach that a certain OC or offensive scheme comes with the job. He said he doesn't want to micromanage, but I have a feeling he wouldn't mind deciding what kind of general offensive scheme the team runs in the next number of years.
  7. Dodger Dogs have to be the most overrated ballpark food. I have no idea how that happened, but I was so excited to try them when I lived in LA and they were actually gross. I couldn't even finish mine. Although, perhaps I'm genetically predisposed to hate those things since I'm a die hard Angels fan. IMO, when visiting that dump of a park they call Chavez Ravine stick to the overpriced beer.

  9. And don't forget his, "Mangino's doing an excellent job in every area."
  10. I guess if they're willing to put money into a reality show documenting a washed-up, middle aged butt rocker going back to college to play in the college band, I guess they'll pretty much do anything.
  11. I know this will sound arrogant, but here it goes. Nebraska just isn't a tear-down-the-goalposts program, even when we suck. And no team should ever be a tear-down-the-goalposts program on the road. As far as I can tell, tearing down the goalposts seems to me to be more of a venting of frustration than jubilation action. In other words, Baylor could tear down their posts after beating a good Big XII team at home because they've always been crushed by that team. But a traditional powerhouse like Nebraska wouldn't tear down the posts just because it's experiencing a few down years. If we beat USC earlier this year I would've been very disappointed if our fans tore down the posts. But, again, it's never okay to do this on the road - ever.
  12. Yeah, as long as Callahan stops burning those damn redshirts! :asshat
  13. Those were some great, great football questions
  14. (This isn't directed at DaveH) So does the existence of the "Rumorville" room mean that people now won't get pissed when others discuss rumors? I laugh every time that someone posts a rumor or speculates on the board and people get all pissed off that someone dare taint the integrity of the board with rumors without hard evidence. Last time I checked, this is an Internet message board. IMO it's fun to read everyone's rumors/speculations. If you're not smart enough to sift through all of the BS then you probably shouldn't be on the Internet in the first place.
  15. I had the same question when I read that article. I'm assuming he hasn't been offered a scholarship since the article didn't mention it, but perhaps he could participate in the expanded walk-on program that hopefully will return next year. He's exactly the kind of guy we would want in that program that would help out-of-state kids understand what it means to play for NU.
  16. No way. For me, Michigan was his biggest win because at that point I was thinking that the program was on the cusp of returning to glory. But a win against Kansas, albeit against a top 10 team, is still just one of the last three games he'll coach at NU. I would love it for bragging rights, but it wouldn't make much of a difference.
  17. This definitely is the third week in a row. It's not like at this point we're looking for any hints of whether or not Callahan will be around next year, but it perhaps reveals that he is already attempting to distance himself from the program (as far as his public image is concerned). To me it seems somewhat unprofessional. And say what you want about Osborne not wearing Husker attire at his AD press conference, but it is customary for coaches to sport their team apparel when officially representing the university, just as it is customary for ADs to wear suits at press conferences. Matt Perrault has discussed this a bit in recent weeks. The link is below. http://podcast.bigsports590.com/ThisWeek/t...12/Default.aspx
  18. You drop this with no link? Forgive us if we're a bit suspicious.
  19. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the new I BLEED RED!
  20. Your right but we all know how the media loves to exploit everything. Look in the bag fellas. The cat is gone. TO has let it out. The guy is human. Once you have decided something, it is hard to live and speak like you haven't yet. You will slip up. I'll just say this: I'm led to believe that Tom is a "word of his man." Any questions?
  21. I was not making any excuses. If you will look at a post I made Friday, I said I fully expected to lose against Oregon. I was not making excuses, I was making a comparison. I understand reading with comprehension is not taught at the state school with the big fat bear mascot. PS Most people throw up in their mouths. Do you sometimes do it somewhere else? PSS Great game against Notre Dame As long as we're on the topic of excuses, UCLA lost to Notre Dame after injuries forced the Bruins to use a walk-on QB who didn't even know the offense yet. So what's SC's excuse for losing to Stanford at home? If you want to show how bad this year's UCLA team is, you should point to the Utah or Washington St. games. I'm just giving you a hard time since you guys have freaking owned us in recent years (except last year, fo course). I don't even try to defend this year's Bruins team since our coach is almost as terrible as Callahack. That being said, I wouldn't let your guard down against them. For some odd reason, Dorrell gets his teams to play out of their minds against good teams and then gets them to lie down for bad teams. Go figure.
  22. TarheelTrojan: "Fight On! GBR" I just threw up in my mouth. By the way, most teams have had a lot of injuries throughout the season. Just be honest and admit that your Booty has stunk all year long (pun intended). But, at the end of the day, excuses are like buttholes - everybody has them and they all stink. Prepare yourselves to get beat down by my Bruins once again! ESPN pundits can't save your program.
