  1. I think it was a damn smart move for Pelini to retain Watson.

smart for pelini, but i'm thinking osborne had a hand in keeping watson. bo may know defense, but TO could write books about offensive play calling. after watching the bluebonnet bowl from '76, what struck me was how much much osborne used like to air it out... and i couldn't help but be reminded of the offense that nebraska runs now.

my opinion? i think osborne sees quite a bit of himself in watson and likes what he sees. so when bo came back to lincoln, i'm thinking TO put a good word watson not just for the sake of continuity but because he honestly believes that watson is the right man for the job.

pure speculation on my part. take it for what its worth.

that all makes sense, i mean if osbornse sees a little of himself in watson..look how T.O. did coaching, watson is the right choice for the offense, lke someone said, dont fix what aint broke

  3. Honey BBQ Wings

    2 cups BBQ Sauce

    1/2 cup honey

    1 cup all-purpose flour

    1 tsp. salt

    1/2 tsp. black pepper

    20 chicken wing AND/OR drummettes ( wingettes)

In a shallow dish, combine flour, salt, and pepper.-Coat chicken in flour mixture; refrigerate for 1 hour; coat chicken again with remaining flour mixture.

In a small saucepan, heat BBQ sauce and honey until warm; turn heat to low and keep warm.

Deep-fry chicken, 8-10 pieces at a time, in 375 degree oil for 10-13 minutes or until done.

Drain chicken on brown paper bags.

Immediately toss fried chicken with BBQ sauce mixture.

Note: I use Bullseye or Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce.

that joke wasnt even funny lol...the recipe..tasty!

  4. Two women were playing golf. One teed off and watched in horror as her

ball headed directly toward a foursome of men playing the next hole. The

ball hit one of the men. He immediately clasped his hands together at his

groin, fell to the ground and proceeded to roll around in agony.

The woman rushed down to the man, and immediately began to apologize.

'Please allow me to help. I'm a Physical Therapist and I know I could

relieve your pain if you'd allow me,' she told him.

'Oh, no, I'll be all right. I'll be fine in a few minutes,' the man

    replied.

He was in obvious agony, lying in the fetal position, still clasping

his hands together at his groin.

At her persistence, however, he finally allowed her to help.

She gently took his hands away and laid them to the side, loosened

his pants and put her hands inside. She administered tender and artful

massage for several long moments and asked,' How does that feel'?

He replied: 'It feels great, but I still think my thumb's broken.

    ill give it an 8

  5. WOH... another spread offense question? Damn.

During the past 4-6 years the Huskers have been been inconsistent as a team and below average on defense. Plain and simple. Stoping the spread is becoming a question that keeps getting exagerated over and over. As if there is no way, no how.

Really. Because I recall NEB teams that played terrible on the road. Against the spread systems. But somehow they beat those spread offenses at home the year before (Mizzou & Kansas). And Tech - who put 70 on the Huskers in Lubbock, came to Lincoln and quickly jumped out to a 21-0 lead. The sky was falling. But somehow it took a Husker fumble after an INT that kept Tech alive & eventually score the winning TD on the next play.

    Good grief.

The Huskers (hopefully) are taking the necessary steps with this new staff to get this team back to the basics. Play real tough football.

Dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Stop the run. Move the chains on offense. Keep your defense on the sideline and fresh. Put pressure on the QB. Let Pelini gameplan the defense each week. Allow Watson to gameplan an offensive strategy he is capable of. Finally the players need to execute with confidence in each other and in themselves. Build up some consistency - start winning at home AND on the road. Things will change in due time.

Beating a good team is tough to do no matter what offense they run, including the spread. But it can be done. And it isnt impossible. Or unimagineable. Or even rocket science.

    :yeah

    nor brain surgery

  8. O.K. fellow Cornhusker fans, the season just isn't getting here soon enough. We probably all mentioned our devotion to the Cornhuskers on the welcome board, but since we're a little more than a month away I thought it would be cool to let out all that emotion that is stirring inside us on why we Bleed Scarlet Red, and what it means to be a Cornhusker Fan NOW in '08 when the ship seems to be righted again. If you want to talk PAST, Present and Future, please do. I appreciate everyone's input. Call me nuts, but the only way to subdue my hunger for the season to start is to know that I'm not the only Husker Freak out there.

I've said it time and time again. Being a Nebraska fan wasn't just by chance. It was by birth. My Dad stands 5ft 7in, and when Nebraska is on TV you can hear his voice a mile away. He's the one who got me interested. Watching the games growing up, understanding the rivalry between Nebraska and Oklahoma, and knowing the only color of choice on Husker Saturdays is Scarlet Red. Sometimes my Dad's influence rubs off on me because I'll be decked out from head to toe in Husker Stuff. Husker Hat, Shirt, Boxers, Socks... I have to have a Blackshirt on under my Husker Shirt or whatever Jersey I choose to wear too.

I cried tears of joy and simply cried while rooting for Nebraska. Went to my first game in Memorial Stadium in 1995 and was able to see Tommie Frazier, Brook Berringer and co at work.

Moving ahead to the present. I have a feeling that we're on the verge of seeing something really special happen with the Cornhuskers that begins in '08. Nebraska is on their way back to being the Dominant Program Again.

    GO BIG RED!

I think this year will be the start of a great rise back to National prominence...oh ya GO BIG RED!!
