  1. Yeah i'll take that. I kinda feel bad... but you'll look good in Red. i do. i lost a bet to my wife's cousin and had to wear a shirt and hat to the KSU game in 07 at memorial. worst day of my life. he took lots of pictures.
  2. Let's also not forget that NU had its worst coach in school history during most of that period. Let's also not forget that KU didn't finish ranked last year, and likely won't finish ranked this year, so that's pretty much a moot point. I betting they finish higher than NU. Sig bet? I'll wear a KU sig/av here for a year if KU finishes with a better Big 12 record than NU. You've gotta wear an NU sig/av for a year if they don't. Tie is a push. Yeah i'll take that.
  3. Let's see if we can count the number of differences between that team and this team. that team beat KU in Lincoln the year before also. Last 4 2005 in Lawrence 40-15 KU 2006 in Lincoln 39-32 OT NU 2007 in Lawrence 76-39 KU 2008 in Lincoln 45-35 NU Are you being purposefully obstinate? Hello? Bill Callahan? Anyone listening? Come on, man. I'll take you as seriously as I can, but ignoring the fact that we had perhaps the worst Div 1A coach during those years is a huge oversight. Let's talk sense. Your right, he only did win the North Division. Maybe you should be introduced to Hawkins and Prince.

  6. Do not forget that NU has won precious few road games over the past years --- even last year. We are especially bad against decent teams on the road. Lets also not forget that since 2002 NU has beaten only one team that finished ranked.
  7. Oh yeah, I forgot about the big comeback against perenial powerhouse Iowa State. Way to get it done Todd. OK, that little joke being made, I'll still take Ganz. Not sure how you assume Reesing doesn't throw those picks seeings as how he threw more than Ganz did in '08. Also Ganz's efficiency rating was higher and completion percentage was nearly identical. Yes, Reesing's was better 66.5 v. 65.1. I'll take Ganz. I guess when you throw the ball 75 more times you are going to have 2 more interceptions?
  8. no doubt speed kills. KU's D will be much faster this year. Also notice with all that speed we still scored 35 in lincoln. Ah, but Nebraska's D will be even faster than it was last year as well. And I'm not seeing that Reesing's speed has increased in the offseason. If not, he'll be getting chased down by Suh and Co. once again, with similar results. Not to mention the players admitted they didn't fully buy into Pelini's system last season, but they are now. All things considered, I see no reason to believe Kansas is going to score 35 points again. Mangino is a good coach and will game-plan for the Huskers, I have no doubt. This is most certainly NOT a "W" for Nebraska, and I expect a dog fight. But unless I see something very different from the Jayhawks this year, I have no reason to believe this year's results will differ from last year's. And let's not hang our hats too much on the number 35. That last TD by Kansas came against a very soft defense when Nebraska had a 17-point lead with 3:30 to go. I'm going to disagree with you if you assert the game was truly a ten-point margin. Nebraska's margin of victory did not reflect the way that game truly went. Ok, but with your O and KU's improved D how will you score more than KU? Last 4 games have been close in Lincoln and blow outs in Lawrence. We heard the same thing after losing in OT in 06 in Lincoln.
  9. In general I agree with what you're saying here, but I wouldn't go as far as you're going here. It's not as if Reesing didn't make mistakes. Ganzy was irresponsible with the ball on several occasions and cost us some crushing turnovers. That Tech INT was a great play by the defender, not unlike Berringer's attempt to throw the ball away against Miami in 1994. Joe threw some passes he shouldn't have, but he also threaded the needle on occasion and made some brilliant plays as well. The biggest difference between Reesing and Ganzy is Reesing had nobody around him to push him out of a job. Ganzy played second fiddle his first four years here, and wouldn't have sniffed the field except for Keller's broken collar bone. Callahan was notorious for giving the non-first-stringers next to no reps in practice. Who knows what Joe would have been under Mangino? I'll guarantee he would have been different. Reesing is better than Ganz, I'm not saying he isn't. I'm saying the gap between them isn't that big. Reesing barely beat Meier for the starting job in 07.
  10. Very homer statement there. Mangino took a very very bad team full of DII talent and made them a very solid team. Yours took a top 30 recruiting class that was playing mediocre and made them a little better.
  11. our AA LT in 07 was a converted TE. Mangino knows what he is doing.
  12. no doubt speed kills. KU's D will be much faster this year. Also notice with all that speed we still scored 35 in lincoln.
  13. We had a RB last year that played for and won a Championship in Juco. He didn't do much for us and is no longer on the team. I won't even comment on your comparison of him to Reesing. You realize Reesing is 20-6 with a BCS bowl victory don't you? i'll give a slight edge to N here. We do have depth at RB and I think you greatly underestimate Sharp. you've had "more physically gifted players" even in the callahan years. I'll take production over gifted any day. could it be that we play in the spread and do not use a TE much? The DL on paper is much more "physically gifted" than last years DL and we will have experience this year. Ever heard of Laptad? Our LB's are also more "physically gifted" than what we have ever had at any time. They are fast and big. I doubt Quickly is a starter. Our DE will get to the QB and we have huge guys to plug up the middle. Here are some stats for you. Rushing D NU 116.46 ypg KU 123.08 ypg Passing D NU 233.28 ypg KU 273.62 ypg Scoring D NU 28.54 ppg KU 28.85 ppg Tackles for loss NU 6.31 pg KU 6.31 pg Sacks NU 35 KU 29 Sacks Suh .58 per game Laptad .54 per game (as a soph) Turnovers NU 17 total KU 25 total I notice you prefer just rankings instead of what those rankings mean, but show me how Nu had a "way better" d last year than KU. The difference is you didn't have to face Texas and their O.
  14. Reesing is better when he is running for his life. His big plays are usually on broken plays. And this was against your D last year. our biggest weekness last year was our DL. Which from what everyone is saying will be much better this year.
  15. We'll do that and just to show how much we like you, we'll throw in a beating of Kansas at no extra charge. You're welcome. NU can't win in Lawrence, it's been what 2 games now.
  16. Pretty cool from LSU website, they take all the polls and average them. Link
  17. Going to KU. And it's official. He is still undecided as the link states so it isn't official. Yet http://kansas.rivals.com/barrier_noentry.a...p;mid=&rid= We're pretty used to thrashing everyone in bball recruiting. Feels pretty good to do it in fball too. yeah, we sure are beating the pants off everyone. We will probably finish with the 34-45 best recruiting class. seriously man, it's Aug 3.
  18. I'm guessing that everyone that offered him is still in it.
  19. I truly, TRULY, do not get the pessimism re: recruiting. FACT: Last year at this time with over 24 schollies to offer, we had 6----SIX------commits. FACT: This season, with significantly FEWER schollies to offer, we have 4 HIGHLY REGARDED recruits. FACT: EVERYONE WHO SEEMS TO BE IN THE KNOW SAYS THAT 2011 IS SHAPING UP TO BE A BANNER RECRUITING YEAR FOR NU. And this nonsense about NU only getting the leftovers for 2010 simply comes from is not looking at who is still on the boards. We are in the mix for a number of 4* kids in 2010 and from what I just read, we will get someone inked in the next week or two. Maybe more than one. I have never been accused of being a kool-aid drinker, but this ongoing blood-letting is just getting silly. Well, apparently he is not a KU commit either. Link
  20. I don't have a problem with him cheering for LSU. But I do see something wrong with using their rallying cry. I see it just as bad as him showing up to that game, wearing LSU gear. UNC fans were pissed when Roy wore a Jayhawk at the 2007 NC game. They understand your pain.
  21. I understand what you're saying and I just want to add this for your, and everyone else's, consideration.... Nebraska vs Kansas: Tradition: Nebraska Facilities: Nebraska Championships: Nebraska Players In The NFL: Nebraska Coaching Staff: Nebraska We have every edge you can think of when it comes to recruiting against Kansas. And yet, we lose a kid like Keeston Terry to the Jayhawks. Why? Because both his parents and high school coach are KU alums. Think about it, the three most influential people in Terry's life are all denigrating NU and talking up KU and people are shocked he switched his committment? Yes it sucks to be sure especially since WR is such a position of need for this class. But sometimes what a program like Nebraska can offer versus a program like Kansas isn't enough. Sometimes it comes down to the team momma likes best and in this case she's a KU alum. Such is life. I'm guessing you've never seen the new facilities at KU. The recruits that visit say they are some of the best in the B12. Tradition, no we don't have that yet, but kids are excited with the direction we are going and want to be the start of that tradition. Coaching Staff? I would say it's up in the air. Mangino and company took a very bad team and made them a very good team, Pelini has taken a mediocre team and made them a good team so far. Championships and NFL players? No argument from me there. And yes I've seen both KU's and UNL's facilities. you guys need to update them a bit. Oh yeah, BCS bowl game victories KU > UNL. Look at the O you run and the O KU runs, of course WR's are going to want to play here. It's been said all summer that UNL will be a power running team this year.
  22. you must have been really mad to see Osborne in a Creighton shirt.
  23. Last time I checked, we had a better season than KU last year. Truth is NU was fighting an uphill battle compared to KU, he has his family with the tradition, is closer to campus, and with a 17 year old who gets pestered about his choice repeatedly (changed his number cause he couldn't deal with it) it's easier to go back to what you know, and for Terry that is KU. While it's frustrating to lose a WR commitment, as long as Watson's offense is here the WR position won't ever make our break NU's offense. We rotate WR too much for one to make a massive impact, it's got it's drawbacks, but we've done pretty well the last two years with a "subpar" recieving core on offense. It's not like Terry pissed all over Memorial Stadium then set it on fire, he chose to go back to what he felt comfortable with. Good luck to him at Kansas if that's where he ends up, except when he plays us of course. your better season was because you played Baylor and not Texas, otherwise would have been the same. can't believe you are bragging about having a better season than KU, Mangino has done a wonderful job. Go back and read what I quoted slowly. The person I quoted insinuated that Young switched back to KU because they had a better season than Nebraska last year, which unless my math teachers lied throughout the years, 9-4 is better than 8-5 (not to mention the head to head matchup). There was no bragging, just correcting something. apologies then.
