  1. Well we need to upgrade out talent pool at wide reciever so any little bit helps. He may not contribute or he may be a good player for us. But I say lets bring him in and let him prove what his worth is to the team.
  2. Why are you guys all afraid to go with Beck. I know he hasn't proven anything at the colligiate level yet but neither has any other high school quarterback. Who cares about his attitude, a lot of high school prospect are pretty high on themselves when they get recruited. You guys all compare the Beck to the "Dukes Effect" but there are other players out there that have done great by requesting to be the only quarterback in a recruiting class. (Eli Manning, Chris Leak, Tee Martin) They all went on and had great collegiate careers. So my point is, lets give Beck a chance before we chance him out of town.
  3. They do not look too good. I know that they have always had a poorish defense but I think that this will play into our favor on Saturday. They gave up 221 yards on the ground to Oklahoma. I think that if we can run the ball consistently and control the clock, we will have a shot at beating them. We also will have to win the turnover battle and not shoot ourselves in the foot with penalties. If we can do these things then we should be able to walk away from Lubbock with a "W".
  4. Do you guys know what the fans are like down in Lubbock? My friend and I are thinking about roadtripping down there and scalping some tickets. But we want to have fun and not be bothered while we are down there if we go.
  5. Well if we are going to say the hell with Beck (which I think is a bad idea) then I think we should go after a better qb that Gorski.
  6. There just isn't that many good players from in-state that require us to persue them that hard. Besides that one d lineman from omaha, I don't think that there is anyone else that we absolutly need to get.
  7. Wow, he sounds like an animal. I think that we need someone like him to sure up a linebacking crew that is losing three of their top four linebackers.
  8. I think that this would be a good pickup. If he could come in and get some playing time I think that he would really be able to stretch the defense.
  9. I want a W just as bad as anyone, but I would rather say that we were the better team rather than say we were lucky that you didn't have everyone healthy against us. Unless its Kansas State. I don't care who they have out there, I hope that we run up the score like its going out of style. We might need Oklahoma first and second team to be out too when we play them also.
  10. Good breakdown. thanks. IMO CU good sneak up and bite everyone in the ass. altho they tanked at MU.. and have to go to Lincoln, you know they still have talent despite their recent debacle. they wont feel the effex of that for a couple yrs. then they will be in the pooper where they belong with KSU and hopefully MU by that time. I really would not mind competing with KU for a few yrs as the new KSU/CU/MU rival of the North. I agree with you RedCountry, Colorado is going to be a team that requires eveyones best effort. I hope that we are competing against KU for the North year after year, but I would hate to have that win streak stopped against them.
  11. If I was Bill, I don't think that I would put a DB back there for this game. They are going to have their hands full against a very good offense. I would have them watch as much film and practice as they can rather than having them learn something new this week. Any other week, then I would be all for having them trying out for the punt return job.
  12. He sounds like the kind of player that we are trying to recruit. It is even better that we can get a kid that Oklahoma is going after.
  13. I read in an article somewhere that he has been able to connect on a couple of 60 yarders in practice. That would really help our offense and their play calling entering the 35 yard line next year.
  14. Nah, that's kind unrealistic. There aren't many people who can do that their first year in any program. But he does show a lot of promise up front. I like the kids cocky attitude. I think that is something that is missing from our offense. I wish that we had someone now that would get after people. Richie sorta had, but he came with a lot of other baggage that was bad for the team. I don't think that he will come in and start next year, but he will get after people in practice and make them do it right.
  15. The game will not be on tv and the start time will be at 1:05 pm. Hopefully, I can get some tickets so that I can see Huskers whoop up on them.
  16. Rudd is just a better athlete than the other two. There is no reason he shouldn't be getter more tackles. Remember this is Sievers and Bradley's first year of starting. Plus, they are both in the top five for tackles this year. As far as the tackles are concerned, they have been taking up the blocks, Rudd gets to run free about every play. I would say that Adams has to be double or at least have an extra chip block thrown on him about 40% of the time.
  17. Story Wow, that would help if they would be held out against us. But I would rather beat a team at full strength rather than beat half of their team.
  18. I would love to see anyone besides panico. It's frustrating when you know wherever they punt it is where we are going to start from. I'd still like to see fab, bullocks, grixby, jackson, green try it. I would love to have Josh Bullocks back there. I am not for sure what his stats were for the bowl game but I think they were better than four yards per return. My biggest concern is that our defense is on the field for over half the game and that Bullocks or any defensive starter back there returning punts might get tired or injuried.
  19. I heard that Carriker is going to be playing a little bit of DT so that we can get some more speed coming from the inside. Moore is quicker coming from the end so that probally isn't that bad of an idea. As far as Leflore starting this week, it makes me wonder if Nunn has fallen out of flavor with Bill. He didn't do much last week and Leflore has been coming on little by little. Nunn hasn't didnt anything all year. He looked flashy the first game but I guess everyone did compared to them. No one on offense besides maybe Herian and Ross has looked great. But I think that we need to find some consistancy so that Dailey knows who he is going to be throwing the ball to and he has a feeling for how they run their routes.
  20. NU-34 TT-20 Rushing Yards-250 Passing Yards-175
  21. The teams that we lost to in 2002 ran all over us. THe reason the stat is so low is because we slowed down the teams that we beat. Penn State, Iowa State, Kansas State, Colorado, and Oklahoma State ran all over us. I believe that each one of those teams had a hundred yard rusher against us. Colorado had their third string back go over a hundred on us as well. Heck, we gave up 437 to Kansas State. So your right, we sure did have a good rush defense back then. I didn't say it was a good rush stopping defense, I was just stating facts that they averaged giving up 146 yards. I agree bohl wasn't good. I still think the key to stopping the run is the 2 interior guys. THen why do you keep saying that our outside linebackers suck and that we are lucky that we have Rudd.
  22. Give a chance bud.......You are not at practice seeing what they are doing. Even if they are on the scout team giving a good picture of actual players then they are doing something that is helping the team. Give them a chance Bernard.
  23. Im not saying that we should rush two or three every time, we are going to have to mix it up and confuse their quarterback. Remember, Wali had a pick against Pitt when we only rushed two. Tech, has a first year quarterback too, I think with enough different looks and schemes, we might be able to rattle him a little bit, and the blitz will have to be part of it. Pitt and t tech are just alil different. Tech scores about 40 a game and pitt goes ot with furman. The amount of points per game does not change the fact that we can be productive with either droping 8 or 9 into coverage or blitzing 5 or 6. My point was that we have mix it up and I think that we can be successful doing both. It doesn't matter who a team is playing, they have to mix up there defense other wise they are going to get burned.
  24. The word on the street doesn't seem to help me out very much right now. Take it for what it's worth. It's not 100% sure but I just try to give you guys the inside scoop. Sorry, I was just wondering about the start time of the game. I wasn't doubting your source that it would be on tv.
