  1. I wish that Bill would get a fire in his ass and get after these guys a little bit. They aren't junior high players any more. Maybe a little yelling and running would get our offense to execute better. Hell, we need to try something, they ain't doin sh#t right now.
  2. one catch for 4 yards! yippee! Well thats better than the opposing team catching on of Daileys balls.
  3. I agree, Running gives us the best chance to win this year. I hope that Bill can figure that out.
  4. I agree with you here Bernard. Our special teams are pathetic. We need to find a few play makers here. I don't think that our kick return team is that bad but we still haven't shown the potential to break one for a score yet. Maybe we should have spent a the off week working on these things. We are going to need something special from them if we are going to win the North.
  5. I agree Bernard, Huston has done a great job so far this season. I think that he will get the most improved player so far.
  6. I beg to differ. There's a something called money that is in his future and he won't screw up again. I wouldn't want to be around Callahan and staff anymore either. I don't think that money will be on his mind when someone calls him a pu&&y or gets in his face.
  7. I wouldn't brag up our defense to fast. yes they have 4 excellent players in ruud, fab, and bullocks bros. But I sure as hell aint sold on bradley and sievers and I'm not sold on our dline. Let's not forget we haven't played a good offense yet. Unless you think western illinois, southern miss, pitt, or ku's offense looked impessive. We will find out next week. If you look at the numbers so far they are doing great. They may not have played a great offense yet but Kansas had an offense that was in the top 25 before the game. The defense got the job done in each game. Remember they only gave up one touchdown on a long pass play in the loss to So. Miss. The numbers are showing that they are doing a great job. IF they continue to keep it up is an unknown but as of right now they have impressed me.
  8. THe Big 12 North seems to be wide open right now. No team has stood out as the team to beat and every team in the North is going to be a tough game for us. Kansas State- Sproles got shut down again this year, this time by Texas A&M which has improved in leaps and bounds since their lost to Utah. They have a tough road ahead of them in the next month. THey play at Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Tech, then at Missouri. If they can not rebound from their last lost, then this could be a very difficult stretch. If they get through this stretch undefeated or with just one lose then they have a chance at the North. Colorado is hard to read right now for me, I don't think that they have the athletes to win the North but they are a team that could win any game that they play. They play Oklahoma State next week and they end the season with Texas, at Kansas, K-State, at Nebraska. They will have a tough road but could shake up the standings. Iowa State is still a year or two away but they could shock some team down the line. Kansas- We just beat them which gives them two conference loses. I think that the North winner may have two conference losses which still leaves Kansas in the running, but they have a tough road ahead to stay in the race. They still must play K-State at home next weekend and then travel to Norman two weeks later. It doesn't give Kansas a great shot at the North considering Texas is still on the schedule in mid-Novemeber. Missouri- in my opinion is the best of this bunch. They have a great quarterback and pretty good defense. They play Baylor next week in which they shouldn't have any problem with, but then comes the tough part of their schedule. In four consecutive weeks, they play at Texas, Oklahoma State, at Nebraska, then Kansas State. Even if they would go 2-2 through this stretch, they still might be the winner of the North depending on who they beat. They do not have Oklahoma on their schedule which is a plus for them considering that both Nebraska and Kansas State must play the Sooners. Nebraska- our schedule is favorable in the fact that we don't have consecutive weeks of really tough teams. We have Tech in Lubbock next weekend and then Baylor the following week. We then travel to Kansas State followed by a home game against Missouri with trips to Iowa State and Oklahoma on the road with Colorado at home to end the regular season. Every game is going to be tough but if we take it a game at a time and not turn the ball over, I think we have a shot at winning the North this year.
  9. I don't think it will be too long before he wants to prove his toughness and will take it too far. Oregon will not have a high tolerance for this kid. I don't think that he is going to amount to very much.
  10. I believe that's because we are having to dumb down to the offense so Dailey can at least get a play off. Last night he could barely do that ! Yeah blame it on Dailey. I don't understand why you would want such a complex offense. I'd say make it simple and easy and effective and profect it. Why study 10 chapters when you only need to know one? I agree with you again Bernard. Bill should of known that Dailey would not be as successful as Gannon did with it in Oakland. I think that we need to simplify the offense so that Dailey can handle it but not to the point where we can not be successful running it.
  11. I watched the Nebraska-Miami game today. For most of the game the announcers were saying that Nebraska couldn't run the option against Miami's defense. Sapp and Lewis were just way to fast. The option just happened to win the game for us that day. We had a few big games on the option and then the two full back dives got us in the endzone and gave us the National Championship.
  12. I would give my game ball to the entire defense. They played great and continue to impress me each and every game. No one besides (Rudd and maybe J. Bullocks) are All-Americans this year and we are still great. Each player knows his role and goes out and does it.
  13. We did not recruit Orton to play quarterback. He didn't fit our criteria. I'm not saying that we didn't talk to him. But I know that we didn't recruit him to come play quarterback.
  14. Did you see how the weather affected the Green Bay game today. I don't care if Favre was out or not. Both teams had to adjust there play calling. There wasn't a pass completed over 20 yards into the wind. I don't know if you know that much about the WCO besides that is MOSTLY short passes, but it does have a the occasional LONG ball in it. Just to help show you how the wind is a problem lets have a few scenarios. If an offense has a holding penalty on first down, and then has an incomplete on first, they are stuck in second in 20. With the weather that was going on in GB today, an offense couldn't afford to have second down be unsuccessful and have a chance to keep the drive alive. The play calling change dramatically and it affected how the game was played. SO if you guys have never been a coach or a player in an advanced system, DON"T say that weather doesn't affect the WCO. IT affects every offense and has a huge impact in football games.
  15. That is horrible. We can not continue to turn the ball over and be successful. THanks god we have a great defense and that can stop opponents. We should try and model our team after the Ravens, great defense and a decent offense that doesn't try to win the game, but tries to take care of the ball. I think that that formula gives us the best chance to win football games this year. Our offense right now is putting our defense in really hard situation and we are lucky that our defense hasn't folded. But the offense cannot continue to do this and expect our defense to go out there and not fold. My point: Turnovers must stop.
  16. I am with you Bernard. I love to watch the option at its best. I understand though that we need the forward pass in the offense to have a chance at winning a national championship or to get the recruits. But what I don't understand is why we go away from the power running game when it was working against a decent Kansas defense. I know that some of you will say "to keep the defense honest," but I don't understand why we would go away from something that works. My opinion is "if its not broke, don't fix it." Our offense was broke last year, and we needed to do something. But I don't think that Callahan realizes that we our a natural running team and that we might have to run the ball 70% of the time to be successful.
  17. Dyches came in last year and at least made some kicks! As a freshman no less. He made some early one's that were about a foot in the air. He's very average. Well yea, he isn't the best but he is better than Sandro. Well people think Callahan is god almighty and plays the best players so there you go. Sandro must be the best player. I don't care who is out there kicking the ball. We have to make those kicks. It is going to come back and lose us a football game this year if we can't make those kicks.
  18. We still need to develop some depth. Any running back that we get (except Marlon Lucky) will probally redshirt next year and then come in when Ross and Horne have graduated.
  19. Beck is in a higher class the Dukes. Dukes left because he knew that there were going to be changes in the organization and he didn't want to be part of them. Beck is the quarterback that we need right now and we need to keep him happy so that he will keep his commitment.
  20. We should not go after another quarterback. IF we sign another one then Beck will go somewhere else. He has already said that and has told several papers and recruiting organizations that he will leave if we go after another quarterback. Plus, no team would be stupid enough to pass on Marlon Lucky. He is a great back that has all the skills, speed, size, and toughness that we need. He would probally come in and contribute right away next year and maybe even start.
  21. Well that will be the theme for every team that we play against this year. But every rep that a reserve can get and can contribute to the team is only a bonus. We need to develop some depth especially along the offensive and defensive lines.
  22. Pitt is pathetic. How in the world did we only beat them by seven points. We should of put up half a hundred on that team. If they can't beat Uconn or beat Furnam in the 60 minutes of regulation. maybe they should just give up this year.
  23. Bernard, I like what you said that Osborne did not have great recruiting classes but still ended up in the top of the polls each and every year.
  24. I think that Frank is a good enough coach to have a head coaching spot. I look for him to sign somewhere where the expectation aren't as high as what they are in Nebraska. I think he will be successful and I wish him the best of luck.
