Shaw. I would take in a heartbeat. I see no scenario in which he leaves except an NFL gig, and even then I dont know. I am not opposed to Shiano as much as others are...just not sure either. I AM opposed to Mullen. I think hes like buying a stock High and selling Low. I dont see upside we would give him at NU that he cant get where he is. Benifit of McElwain and Fuente and maybe even Wells, is that if they can do 'something' at a mid major with limited facilities, money, recruit desirability etc. Imagine what they could do here with all that NU offers. I don't see that same benifit for Mullen...hes in THE power conference with recruits all around him. Maybe not quite the facilities...but they are not playing in a shack either. I would revise my thoughts on Kill....IF he took Frost as OC and HC in waiting. I know people wonder if Frost would come as an OC which is latteral. But OC/Assistant HC and a big raise to come home might do it. That being said...I really think any HC should get to pick his guys....so that probably wouldnt work out. lol

My board would be a little different than most of what I am seeing. Not that anyone cares, but my board would look like this.... McElwain - I wanted Urban Meyer before he went to FL. I think this guy is THE hot young coach Fuente - Prob number two in my opinion of young and up and coming. Not sure why he isnt getting more press.... Tressel - guy can coach...but baggage brings him down my list Frost - we all know the pro/cons on this one Am I mad if its not one of these....not really. But I cant see a Kill, and I cant see an OC/DC from somewhere else coming in. If its going to be an other teams coordinator...might as well be Frost.

I think that it is safe to say that BO will be the guy. SOMEWHERE. I dont know about here...but he will get a chance at an HC job this year. Gill...maybe the same. He will go somewhere this year...if not this year, in 1-2 more years he is going to make a major move up if he continues to do what he has done. If nothing else the Nebraska search has gotten his name ALL OVER the national airwaves, and other AD's are seeing his accomplishments spotlighted. I dont know if I want Gill, or Bo, or someone else. I think I am OK with a few candidates...so I will let Tom decide....but I do think that Gill and Bo ARE relevant, and will get looks at these jobs.

not that I WANT to wait...I just dont want to miss on the best candidate because he is coaching a bowl game and his AD says no contact till after.

I am just wondering... When you look at coaches like Bo, or better yet, some of the HC's who are going to bowl games...can you effectivly hire them before thier season is over? I am concerned that we will be looking until new years because a lot of coaches that I would want to see here wont be done with thier current teams until the last week of Dec, first week of Jan. Thoughts?

yeah, I would have really liked to have seen Urban last time around...I am guessing the last few years look a lot different, and we are having a different conversation today.

I would be a Paul Johnson bandwagon guy... I was in the Marines, and considered going to the Academy before I went into the Corps...and I have all the respect in the world for those guys...but it is a different deal. You can not recruit someone to just come and play football. It is hard as hell to get in. You cant get guys in there that are barely eligible academically. The life they life in addition to what a normal football player has to go through... For him to do what he has with what he had...I think it would be a great choice. Not that I am opposed to Gill, or Bo either...but Paul would be up there on my list for sure.

I have a lot going on tomorrow, and need to make sure I am near a radio, tv, and computer to keep up. :-)
