Now about that recruiting for positions that aren't WR or QB...
We aren't actively recruiting a QB.
I was referring to this staff's performance since they've been here, not this year specifically. They've brought in some strong recruits at WR and QB, yes. But look at the other 80% of the team, and the recruiting has been, well, not as much of an upgrade as some are making it out to be. Though getting recruits earlier in the cycle is an improvement over Bo's last-minute scramble.

Last class, half of the 4* guys were WRs. So far this class, half of the 4* guys are WRs. We might need some receivers, but receivers don't comprise 50% of a team.

I wanna see how Dabo does post-Deshaun before I crown him king as a coach, let alone Clemson as a program.

Notre Dame and Miami are still Kings, but Nebraska drops? That makes zero sense.
I don't know if I agree with them being kings, but both have achieved at least some amount more than us over the last ~20 years.
I'm actually surprised Penn St didn't drop. NU and PSU have similar accomplishments over the last 10-20 years.
They have three conference championships and 3 BCS/major bowl appearances since 2000. And they're hotter present tense.
Nebraska would probably have about the same if they'd been in a conference with co-champions and no championship game like the Big Ten pre-2011. I'd say the biggest thing separating the two is that last year Penn State got lucky and won a conference championship game. That 'hotter at the moment' thing.

How come there's two fourth-team defenses? And what's Stanley Morgan doing on defense?

Long-term, I think we'll be fine with Diaco. It's the short-term transition period that's a huge question mark...

Does a 5 win season get Riley "retired"?
I mean, Callahan at least two winning seasons between his 5-win years...

Hugh Freeze is under investigation for cheating. That should dock him a lot
Or at least put an asterisk next to him.
I think Dabo Swinney at 3 is worthy of separation from the rest. And possibly Jimbo Fisher at 4. Then everybody else
Meh, we'll see how Dabo does post-Watson.

What I mostly heard was that Armstrong had his core group of friends like Westerkamp, but a lot of his teammates really weren't too crazy about him. Liked to throw other guys under the bus. I always shook my head when people proclaimed that Armstrong was such a great leader just because he didn't seem as introverted publicly as T-Mart...

Safety, eh? Going the Scott Frost route.

This is no different than street ballers vs NBA guys. Yes they are talented but when the lights are shining and there are opponents in your face the game changes drastically
Same with pool trick shooters, it's a lot different when the balls are set up perfectly for your trick than it is in an actual head-to-head game.

The players can't call themselves untalented,
Unless it's Alex "I'm sorry we suck" Lewis...

Is a quesadilla a grilled cheese sandwich?
Depends. Do you consider a tortilla to be bread?
I would classify it as a type of unleavened flatbread, akin to roti.

Another way to look at this is that Nebraska has been landing recruiting classes generally ranked #26 - #30, and finishing their seasons ranked roughly the same.
I've said that for years. Callahan could recruit, but couldn't coach guys up to their potential. Pelini, on the other hand, was just OK at recruiting. And overall, as you said, the performance of his teams matched the recruiting rankings - neither coached up nor coached down. You wonder how Bo might have fared if he'd hired some serious recruiters, instead of filling his staff with inexperienced assistants.

I eat my marijuana.
I snort lines of anthrax.
I used to do that, but these days I've moved on to injecting Megadeth.

H back? he's got some speed to play with.
Yeah, I was thinking maybe like how Ohio State used Braxton Miller in his final season.

Hasn't it been established he has some mental health struggles? To me, seems like not a dip$hit but a guy who hasn't been able to get himself help for substance abuse and mental health.
He supposedly does have some anxiety issues, but I don't think there was any shortage of help available to him...

Or not...
Edit: beaten...

Trailed off toward the end of last season and was demoted to backup in spring. Sounds like he needs some strength & conditioning work, so sitting out a year would probably do him some good.
