  1. I probably start over on defense. I'd run a 5-2 or 4-3 front until I get the right guys who are physically able.  This 3-4 B.S. has a 3 man rush and 4 guys dancing backwards like a bunch of idiots while TE's and RB's are running free. Plus it allows slow QB's to run 25 yds down the field cause the LB's are chasing their own shadows. I haven't heard the term dime or nickel defense in years. When I'm leading at the end of game, I'm blitzing on every play against a walk on QB.

Offensively, take the 1 yard pass to the TE out of the playbook. Tell the wideouts when it's 3 and 8, don't run a 6 yard pattern. Act like you know what you are doing.  We have one receiver that can be a burner, the rest seem to be just window dressing. Warner should have at least 5 catches a game,  and for crying out loud Wandale is not a running back. He should have 6-10 touches per game so he is still alive and fresh late in ballgames.

  2. We can talk this to death, but hearing Brees talk to the Boilermakers in the locker room really makes you wonder. Telling players to go all out on each play, cause that one play can mean a difference in the game result.

It is hard to find one player on the huskers that is giving their all on every play.  They are standing around waiting for a teammate to do something. They were waiting for someone to make a play on Purdue's last drive.

I just don't know how we have managed to end up with a roster of players for years now that seem to practice well and say all the right things,  but come game time look like a bunch of guys whose parents signed them up for a sport they don't want to play.  Practice sucks and the game is supposed to be fun so why is no one enjoying playing the game.

  3. Most of the players mad about losing are the underclassmen. The upperclassmen are Riley's boys who don't care. We can't replace them yet because we don't have enough depth.  Teams that are successful have players that police themselves. People longing for days of coaches being mean like McBride are living in the dark ages. When Pelini yelled, the team crapped it's pants. Players are different these days.

  4. The fact that Bo didn't like to recruit and allowed good athletes in Nebraska to go elsewhere makes me believe those lofty records would soon be more like 6 or 7 win seasons.

Sure,  Frost made some promises but should he have stood up and said we suck and I don't know if I can fix this make everyone happy? We'd have more Dick Chaterlain articles than we would know what to do with.

Not last night, but Martinez has had time and missed throws for sure this season. I'm in the middle on this one. We definitely have alot of other issues on offense but Adrian is not playing his best football right now I think that is pretty apparent. I believe he will get right but I say the blame can be equally shared over the course of the game. Some plays its on one position group, some plays its on another. Walters saying everything needs to work in concert comes to mind. When everyone does their job we move the ball but its musical chairs on who isn't executing bad play to bad play.

I would agree,  Adrian has looked off all season. He's been really indecisive with the football.

  6. I feel like Adrian Martinez is being a good teammate and shouldering a lot of the responsibility when in fact he has a center who can't snap the ball back to him in the shotgun and an offensive line that is not good.  Dam near every snap Saturday night Adrian was running for his life back there. If Fields played behind our offensive he wouldn't be able to do anything either.

Not to rain on your rant but we just got beat by a FIRST YEAR program... Are you saying Mel Tucker is a better coach then Scott Frost..??

First year coach but Colorado has a veteran offense. Their QB has a lot more more weapons to pick from than we do right now

  8. So Frost takes over a team with really no talent and after 14 games he's a problem? Those who thought we were just going to move into year 2 and win every week are the problem.  I never heard players say the let down Riley after a loss. Frost is trying to teach this team how to win. That requires going all out in practice and on game day. The reason the second half went to hell wasn't the play calls. It was effort. The players have to learn to play 60 minutes, not the coaches.
