  1. Why? See DaveH, When a coach does not get his players to play at a high level. He needs to find something to get them motivated. Playing time is a big influence on getting kids to playing hard. And after last week, I think the players need to be motivated a little bit more. Great so what u are saying is that Nebraskas loss was all on the players, the coaching of the team had nothing to di with it? gimme a break nebraska was out played and out coached... How the players played is due to how they were coached. Callahan is a slime, he will never take the look bad on tv he will always say something the players didnt play well today.. .he would never say I was out coached. Sence Nebraska has had Callahan at the HElm, they have shown no ability to move the ball, they can move the ball against teams that they should beat hands down, but when they get to play someone with real talet they stand no chance period.
  2. good post man, I would like to ask the same questions, and then pop him in the face after he lies to me like he does often. How neanderthal of you. Oh and about the questions, I could have entertained them in JANUARY. Edit: sorry, I can't resist. I hope as a human being you know how to act without the guidance of a football team. That's retarded. The one about throwing all the trophies away is a bit on the dramatic side. What is this MacBeth? Calling coaches recruits, that's rich. Best ever huh? Hardly. IT WAS ONE (1) YEAR. How can you use the words best ever after one year? I guess you can if you yearn for instant gratification. Read AR's posts again. Then read them again. We won with the option because WE WERE PHYSICALLY SUPERIOR TO OTHER TEAMS. Not because we were one dimensional. We could have told the other team what play we were going to run and they couldn't stop it. After Osbourne left, that level of superiority fell off. UmMMmmm.. Pelini reminded me alot of mcbride, whos running the D now? might as well be no one would end up the same pelini shut out Texas..( that hasnt happend in 25+ years)... I would say that pelini was a awsome pick,, so what does captain retard (Callahan) do? he fires the person who is the biggest threat to him for the head coaching possion. Callahan is very good at one thing and that is taking a winning team and making them loosers. look at the Raiders they are still re covering from the callahan affect.
  3. But at the same time how are you going to learn if you don't do? Throwing the ball less than 10 times will net you nothing in trying to establish this offense. Kinda like running on a treadmill. Winning games is important, but when you are in the position this team is you can't just look past the larger goal of using the WCO to it's full potential IMO. You can lose control of the game running the ball to. Remember when Ahman and his fumbling problems? wtf???? Ahmad Green was second to only Rozier? fumble problems? lets talk about turn overs period how many INT has dailey thrown? and how many fumbles did green have on his worst year? Let alone that GReen PLays in the pros now and Dailey better start getting book smart he has no chance in the pros at any possition.
  4. What? Run the Ball u say? could this be the awnser to opening up the passing game? this is too much for Callahan to understand he is far to busy counting the money that he will make this year win or loose.... to open the passing lgame you have to show a running game to make the D fear the run then pass or open your Passing game all the way open and pass every play like texas tech.... One or the other Callahan needs to make up his mind though making him choose 50/50 might be tuff he doent make calls too well under the gun.
  5. recruiting callahan has a talent he can do this, as for being a coach umm I think that his records says it all... A loosing record in the NFL and unless something happens Nebraska is looking at loosing the season and killing the bowl record... ahh Callahan as a savior for Nebraska I think not he cant adjust to change in the D. He is also a very slick coach after the Texas TEch lost he put all the loss on the players and not a single sentance was spoke about being out coached.
  6. Like I said earlier, why even suit them up? You know their not going to play because they don't even get to warm up. You know they're not going to play how? What if injuries hit the same position through two deep? All of a sudden, a third-stringer is in there. If the response to that is that Callahan should then run all players through the warm-ups, that makes no sense, for a number of reasons: 1. While it could happen, the odds are generally low - but since it could happen, he needs those players suited up. You're playing the percentages. 2. Assuming it does happen, it will most likely happen far enough into the game that any benefit of warming-up will have been lost in terms of actually "loosing-up". 3. As for "warming-up" in the sense of getting those players a few reps and familiarity with the plays, your best hope of getting those players in the game in the first place is to put the game out of reach as early as you can. To do that, you need the starters to get most if not all those reps. 4. Given that NU is struggling in comparison to years past, a coach who wants to win now would want to get his starters the most reps and the most prepared to give the team the best chance to win. you said it yourself, who knows if a couple injuries happen and your forced into the fire. Guess what, then you got to go in and your not even loose or warmed up, chances are you won't be game ready and the chances of you getting hurt are twice as much. read this on HI and thought it was good. All tradition is gone at nebraska. Isn't it great. I agree, every thing that was once good in Nebraska is gone, and it all starts with the coaching staff, Callahan could coach his way out of a paper bag and the Def Cord has no idea what is going on at any time for the love of god Baylor.... The Whipping boy of the big 12 avged 282 yards per game vs. Neb 400 yrds, and this is coming off the worst lost in Neb history? Nebraska looks good all the way up to halftime, and during half time you make changes well not at Nebraska any longer they run the same plays over and over and over.... I will be happy if Nebraska ends up winning 5 games this year very sad times at Nebraska
  7. This is a problem with the coach, I think that you will see this through out the callahan era (hope its short) osborne would play 3 to 4 deap at a possition and if you dont do this you are looking at having one good season and then having to rebuild the next because you dont have any players with any kind of game time on the field let alone even warm up time... Callahan has no idea what it takes to build and maintain a team at the top level I guess that is why he was fired from oakland
  8. That's been the story of his life. Even when he was in a high school all star game his senior season he was easily the best I-back in the state, but he didn't start because he's a slacker. I remember the article in the paper. Its not as if the kid doesnt have talent the reason that he hasnt played is due to problems off the field ie drink under age, im not sure that he should xfr because with the rb that Nebraska has he makes a nice addition.
  9. even if all the tickets are paid for, if the people start skipping games then it is a sad day for nebraska.... Nebraska fans have alot to do with how well nebraska plays.... As for what as change I dont mind change as long as it is for the best, or if its not broken dont fix it.
  10. Yea, K-State played well today. (Against Pelini I might add). Missouri looked alright. No doubt they will be tough games. Hopefully we show up! I dont think bagging on Pelini is a good thing after last week Ou shutting out Texas for the first time in 20+ years Nebraskas new DC ends up setting a Nebraska record for worst lost in history of Neb
  11. It was still a sell out but some people didnt make it to the game or at least didnt show up to the game in fear of another train reck. Ok so Nebraska beats Baylor, The whiping boy of the big 12... What does this do? It gives false hope in the WCO, Dailey threw the ball well but the O still doesnt look to be moving the ball all that well. I know what your going to say he passing for 300+ yards that isnt movingthe ball? Alot of the passes were for huge gains, and you cant count on that to happen all the time, I still have not been at all impressed with the wco... I still have little to no faith in the coaching staff, Coach C makes no adjustments after half time, and his team looks like crap in the 3rd and 4th... On the other side of the ball the transition should have been smooth with the likes of the talent Nebraska has on D but, the coaching on D is patheric playing prevent, 3 man rushes ect. basically waiting the opposition to win the game. The Atlanta Falcons moved to the wco, with one of the best QBs in the NFL *M.Vick* and he is having a horrable year? This tells me that if a great QB like Vick has issues with it, who is Nebraska going to get that will be able to run this train reck of a system? For those who say that Nebraskas option system is one demensionable, I think that you might need to rethink what you post, the triple option is anything but one demensionable, hence the name. Dump the WCO as its not going to work, stop protecting a Coach who was fired by the Oakland Raiders and start looking at what you have just the facts nothing else. On the O One of the best running back stables we have had in many years. (How are they used? they block alot and occasionally run up the middle or off tackle) QB Dailey has shown that he can throw the ball, but to the wrong team... He can throw, if the dbacks are not very good. On the other side of the ball. This use to be Nebraskas Bread and butter, punishing D... Nebraska has all the talent in the world on D, no need to rebuild or get players in here so thats not going to work sorry. Three man rush = You get NO penetration on the QB and he picks you appart. Prevent Defense = Preventing your self from winning
  12. Im not sure if nebraska is in the bottom 10 in my opinion, but I know that they are a long way out of the top 25.
  13. Quote Callahan: We will not surrender the big 12 to Texas! Well now we dont have to worry about surrendering the big 12 to texas as we are not going to play in the Big 12 Championship or have to worry about going to a bowl game period less they have a toilet bowl? For those that think this is all due to Solich players, the team played bad thats a fact. But to me it looked like they were ill prepaired to play, correct me if im wrong but that is a problem with the coaching. On the O side Dailey just isnt at a college level and I dont think he will ever really be at this level. Theory wco The west coast o is suppose to play to each players strength, now in a way this seems to be working Dailey is very good at throwing picks and is on pace to break the carrier INT record in a single season. What happened to the FB? Nebraska has one of the best running back stables in the ncaa, what do they do block. with the occasional run to set up another string of pass plays. Im getting really tired of all the Raider fans at work for thanking me as a Nebraska fan for taking Callahan, ponder I wonder why.
