If you are not mad that nebraska lost or angry that a team with a winning record amazingly turned to a losing record in one season basically what Callahan did with the Raiders, then please follow some other team where you can say there is always next year, there is always next year.... and after 5 or 6 years you finally catch on that it doesnt matter what next year brings in talent you still have the same worthless coach....

I'm sorry I don't have a, "wait till next year" attitude about this. I'm friggin pissed off. I'm glad that it's nice to have such a flippant attitude about the worst season in over 40 years. I was raised, and bleed cornhusker football, and what I saw today absolute made me sick. They showed up for the last 5 minutes of the game, other than the one defensive series before the half, other than that, NOTHING!!!!!!!!!! I hope BC does a hell of a lot better next year. If he doesn't, then who in the hell will want to come play for him? Maybe we can get some more losers from NJ to come to Nebraska. I absolutly agree, football may not be about streaks but it is about winning or at least showing that you can comwith the best, From what I have listen and watched this season I dont see any of that... I also dont agree with the PLayers recruited to be in a option style offense bull. This year was all about being out coached, what a suprise that Cosgrove drove a top 10 D into a crap D, and a who cares Offense (wco) Callahan has a interesting pattern running from the raiders now the huskers he takes over and wam teams that were good turn to crap... I feel for the seniors and hope that players with a chance to go pro do so, and running backs that have talent xfr or go pro as Callahan has no idea how to use a excellent back like ross.

This is what we have to look foward to in the future less something amazing happens and the ad and hc and dhc are all fired, Callahan is good at one thing and one thing only and that is taking a team that won the previous year and turning them into loosers the very next season, this is not about the athletic ability of the players the talent is there the coaching is not.... I truely wish that the seniors could have went to a bowl game its sad to see a team that won last year with the players fall to 5-6 due to a lack of coaching, Dailey is being asked to do something he cannot it is as if Callahan doesnt care if he cant he only wants to showcase his O win or loose. Or perhaps he is loosing so next season if nebraska somehow manages to go 6-5 he can say that they are making progress... who knows the only thing that is for sure is that the program is at a all time low, lets not forget Pederson "We will not let Nebraska slip into big 12 midocracy", or Callahan " with the WCO we will take what we want not what they give us." The only thing that the wco has taken is a beating, and Nebraska has fallen to the midocracy they are now below that... im not hating anything other than seeing my beloved huskers loosing due to coaching.

Nebraska never had a 1# recruit class but they did win national titles if im not mistaken, a true coach is someone who can get the best out of every player.... If BC needs to have the best in order to coach thats not coaching that is simply the players ability to make plays. Besides you need to look at play calling and not say its because of solich recruiting, or saying that they have no talent what have you, Callahan just cant get it done less he has the a big name player behind center, and that is what is going to turn Nebraska into a team that has one good season every 4 years look for lots of rebuilding years in the future

B. Cotton is let go and goes to Iowa state, Iowa state beats Nebraska, Pelini is let go and moves to OK I guess because he cant run a D very good only good enough to shut out Callahans beloved WCO so in consecutive weeks Nebraska has lost to x-staff

Fine, if you feel that way. I disagree. But BE CONSISTENT! Either its all about wins or its not. If you're going to fire Solich because he had one bad season, then demand wins from Callahan now. You can't have it both ways. It's simply not a fair comparison. By doing that you are simply ignoring what Callahan wants to accomplish here and the magnitude of it. More than a year. You may not like what he wants to do, but I think you have to give the man more than a year or two to get it going. Sure, if we had hired an option coach not much would have changed. But we didn't. As you said, you can't blame the guy for taking the job. I expect a coach to put us in a position to be contending for championships, Big 12 or otherwise. Solich wasn't doing that after 6 years. If Callahan can't do it after a shorter amount of time, say 3-4 years, then he would need to start worrying about his job. At that point, it would be fair IMO. Well honestly it is a fair to give Callahan only one chance, as that is what Solich was given...Though I dont think that cosgrove should b fired b4 the end of the year so he doesnt hurt the D any further

This post makes me laugh, this is how I look at it.... People who say give BC a chance are basically people who know it was a mistake to hire him and hope he does something in hte next few years, as far as rebuilding this is a team that in 2002 went 7-7 then 10-3 and lost only a few seniors.... Rebuilding I think not, this is a team that is young I will give you that but this is also a team that at one point had a D before Cosgrove desided that he had hurt wisc enough and felt like he had what it takes to destroy Nebraska football.. As far as Callahan goes Funny isnt it Solich was fired because they said he couldnt win the big ones, well he might have had some problems winning the big ones but at least he could win small ones Callahan and crew cant even do that and are now in a situation to wreck another peice of Nebraska History

I truely hate the idea that NEbraska fades in the 3rd and 4th qtrs, with hardnose football this use to be the best part of the game, when Nebraska would hammer the ball over and over down the middle or option making the D tired gasping for air or off the field nursing them selves. Nebraska use to control the clock, its hard for a team to score if they dont get their O on the field, this is partly due to the passing abilities or disabilities of Dailey and partly due to a coach who doesnt beleave in Nebraska style football, I wanted to pass a little more when solich was hc but that was because he would run the ball when the D was over loading the box it just made sence. Callahan just seems to want to pass 40 times per game no matter what, 3 in the box doesnt matter here comes another pass play.... Solich had some ruff spots in his time as HC but at least he knew what Nebraska football was all about, Callahan on the other hand has no idea, The team doesnt look the way they use to they are not fired up but wrather seem to be going threw the motions until the end of the game, thats a coaching problem, they dont look rdy for games and they are playing way below the ability that ithey have. Call me a hater or what have you, I love NEbraska I have been a fan for years daiting back to when sungrove was QB. I hope things turn out different than what I see them doing in the last two games only time will tell and it all depends on what NEbraska team shows up to the final two games that is what will determin the possibility of a bowl game.

I think you and your clones need to realize that Solich isn't coming back. Check the stats we have ran the ball more then we have passed. If having one of the TOP recruiting classes in the country is headed in the wrong direction then most of the Top 25 already beat us to that. Solich fired a crap load of people to, so I ask again did any of the tradition die then? Callahan could recruit the best in the world and it still wouldnt make a difference... If you cant coach you cant coach, callahan is great at recruiting not coaching

People like you always complain that Solich couldn't do that. Well, hold Callahan to the same standard. I know he's changed to go almost 50-50 run-pass...but why does he keep going back to the same old busted pass plays in critical situations when he knows that the running game is on? If he would actually give the run a shot for an extended period of time, it might open up his precious WCO a little more. Those are the adjustments I speak of. We both have a point. People like me are upset because we feel like Solich was thrown away by an outsider who didn't understand or care how much it was going to hurt. The message sent was 'winning every game is more important than loyalty'. So we think perfection should be demanded. We don't understand why Callahan is given a pass because this is a 'transition year' when clearly losing was not acceptable. We feel people who supported the coaching change are willing to accept any level of ridiculous performance in the coming years just to defend the decision (that's what Petersen is like anyway). People like you don't understand that we talk of loyalty but don't give any slack at all to Callahan. The truth is I didn't condemn Callahn from the moment he got here. It wanted to give him a chance. But he's demonstrated that he is not a good coach. You guys always say that the reason the change was made is that we were hovering around mediocrity. You'd rather cut the ties and end the continuity and tradition of the coaching staff than lose 3 games a year. I don't agree, but I can respect that. But I really really really really really really really REALLY don't think we're headed in the right direction here. This is a huge step down and I don't see us returning to what we were any time soon. You may not agree, but you have to respect that.
