By all accounts Smothers loves it at NU, he has passed up previous chances to transfer, including when he was passed over in favor of a transfer QB. If the decision is left up to him, I don’t think he leaves, perhaps he is a medical retirement candidate?

Yeah, Clark got several bad breaks in that game and it is clear he doesn’t quite yet have the answer in tough situations. He has been a bit up and down so far in the early season, his stuff is good though so I am hopeful he learns from an outing like this and matures as we get into conference season. Overall I like the way the team is playing right now. Lots of good things to build on going forward.

Huskers pounded out 18 hits in this one. Jace Kaminska had 6 strong scoreless innings to get the win only giving up 4 hits and 1 walk. Overall strong outing by the squad.

Huskers WIN!!!! 12-3 final.

12-3 going to bottom 9. They had bases loaded with 1 out and couldn’t get a run in. One of the few times this game they haven’t capitalized on their opportunities.

12-3 after 8. Can’t tell, but appears game over?

—edit— NVM, just a delay on game tracker. Matthews up first top 9. Thought there was a tourney mercy rule or something there for a few.

Thanks, I was just guessing as PG specifically was mentioned. Sallis would be very interesting indeed.

Anyone have any insight on who they may be looking to recruit as transfers yet? On 1620 the other day, there were some hints that some native Nebraskans might be looking to come back home, emphasis on PH. Would be a dream for Chucky to come home, but I have my doubts.

I don’t think walkons get the same access to meal plans and other support services. I recall watching a show/documentary following walkons and the young man couldn’t sit at the training table all year like the scholly players and had to buy his own food. Maybe that has changed or maybe the gap wasn’t as big as the show made it out to be, I would be interested to know what walkons can and can have access to.
