  1. I guess what it boils down to, is that Pelini had a better "feel" for Nebraska football...

I remember after a few games with him at the helm of the defense, the "Bo Knows Defense, Black is Back" shirts...

Granted he's wasn't a native, but he grasped on to what the team, the fans, all wanted. You felt that he brought something to the defense. An attitude, a swagger, that made the Blackshirts something to be feared again.

Now, our whole aura is gone. People look at us like were a friggin' joke, and that's just one of the things that is really bothering me...

  2. 1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation?

Since I was about 5, which would make it about 26 years...

    2) What/who led you to The Nation?

    My Grandpa, R.I.P.

    3) Where are you from originally? Valentine, Neb and Belle Fourche, SD

    4) Where do you live now? The Hell that is New Jersey

    5) Favorite Husker memory? Watching Tommy Fraizer make one of the greatest runs ever in the 95 Fiesta Bowl

    6) Worst Husker memory? Last Saturday

    7) Number of home games attended? none yet

    8) Number of away games attended? none yet

    9) How many pieces of Husker apparel do you own? Too many to count

    10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) My House

    11) Favorite all time player? Brook Berringer

    12) WCO or Option? For the love of god, the option

    13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? Me

    14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? Herbie

    17) How did you find HuskerBoard? Found it myself

  3. AP) -- Nebraska has never looked this bad.

Texas Tech handed the Cornhuskers the worst loss in their storied 114-year history Saturday night, with Sonny Cumbie throwing for 436 yards and five touchdowns in a 70-10 win.

``I'm very disappointed in our team's effort,'' first-year coach Bill Callahan said

This is something i'm glad happened in my lifetime...

  4. That's a nice call with the commentary. But the whole thing is, in pro ball, if you're star player who's making, for example, 20 million a year, disagree's with a coach who's making 2 million a year, for the most part, management will back the player.

He never won a superbowl. He got them to the Superbowl in 2002, where the Silver and Black, got utterly humiliated by the Tampa Bay Bucs. I remember at one point John Lynch, walking past Gruden, and saying something of the effect to, that the raiders are playing exactly like they thought they would. I watched that game, throwing many things at the TV, wondering why won't he run the freakin ball...

What it boils down to is, the way he's running the show is killing me...

  5. Husker rebel, I applaud you...

I know now, it's the whole "coulda, woulda, shoulda", but we're watching our beloved Huskers crap the proverbial bed.

SP just wanted a big name, that would hopefully put butts in the seats, and get some kids to commit. That is all.

One thing i've noticed about Callahan is, that apparently, doesn't know what the word, adjustment means.

  6. I BELIEVE IN BILL, as should all TRUE Husker fans

I'm sorry but I cannot, believe in Bill. And, as for the "all true husker fans" statement, I think that's for the birds too.

I'm a true Husker fan, and I find a changing of the offense to be an abomination. We won on defense, running the ball, wearing out the D-line, and then throwing the deep ball once the run is established.

Why are we changing now? What precipitated the sudden need to change to the west coast offense?

Not to be an "untrue" husker fan, but when was the last time we recruited a "big time reciever"? Irving Fryar is only guy I can think of that was in that category, and how long ago was that?

I guess the days of our "blood & guts" grind em out offense are gone. Given up for the glitz and glamour of the west coast offense.

And I guess that makes me an untrue Husker fan...

  7. Look at the team he inherited...

Not too mention luck played a big part of it. The senior citizens he had on that team played like they did 10 years ago.

Sorry, if i'm not jumping on the Callahan bandwagon, but I think he makes terrible decisions...

Case in point, 4th quarter in the Pitt game. There's 5 minutes left to go, we're up by a touchdown and he throws the ball on first down??? What the hell was he thinking about.

Find something else? So you take pleasure in knowing that we're going to get the everloving crap beaten out of us by OU? Since we're in the Big 12, and don't play them every year, when we do, I would like to beat them. I guess the fact that I get upset about "giving up the booty" to OU makes me a bad fan, then so be it...

  8. I just think Callahan should've never been hired to begin with...

All he is a big name, that's it. Anybody watch the superbowl he coached a couple of years ago?

He kept throwing the ball, and digger the Raiders in a deeper and deeper hole. He should have run the ball to set up the pass...

It is too late now to fire him, we're stuck with him for awhile...

You think i'm jumping the gun? You think we got lit up by Texas Tech? Imagine what Oklahoma will do against our crap a$$ offense, november 13th...

  9. I just don't get where Callahan is going to come in, and improve things with an offense that is radically different from what we've been running for eons...

Does he think he's the "offensive genius" that is going to bring us to the promised land...

    I think not...

Callahan has to go, bottom line. They've hosed themselves when they didn't hire Pelini, who I thought would have been the best choice...

  10. Callahan is TERRIBLE, SP is Terrible... However...

If they would have hired Bo, then I would have been much happier. How in the hell are you going to install the west coast craptastic offense, into a system that's been running the ball, successively, might I add, since christ was a corporal...

He needs to get the hell outta nebraska...
