Luke Fickell will come for the right amount. He has a personality that will fit the Trev mold and he has Cincinnati clicking on all cylinders. I also like O’Brien and Bret Bielema. Illinois will make some noise this season.

I'm glad Huskerboard has all these insiders, makes this whole process so much clearer...

So, just because you’re not liking what you’re reading and don’t want to admit that he’s got a lot of very impressive traits as a candidate means the rest of us are in WTF territory? Ummm, okay.

None of what you said up to this point is real....   none of it...

The most positive I can think of is we have a decent staff with some decent players still.  They aren’t playing decent fb yet but there is time.  Forget about wins vs losses. Focus on play and experience for a bunch who never would have played but for the changes.

That’s very helpful.  It’s been 5 years since we’ve been giving PT to young backups.
We are just now going to see what a frost free team can do. OU was a hangover game with no time to change much at all.

An honest Whipple offense might actually be better.  We will see.  And the defense which has heretofore been awful, can be a little better with some schematic changes.  It may not last that long but?

Busch may have some ideas.  Probably remain ragged and hit/miss but u never know.  Indy won’t have a clue.

Add a few new run plays and new formations, etc.  Can’t be much worse.  It might work for a few series.

This is 2022.  We now know Frost is not a great HC by all the antecdotal evidence in the almost 200 pages on this site.

Ripping me for using wiki to fact check?  Ouch man.  Take it easy.  My thin illini skin can only take so much.

We love winning in Lincoln.  May the tradition continue.  ;)

Big Red Nation.  I learned that on this thread.  Sorry I was trying to be cool like you.

Deion Sanders the player is a Hall of Famer in my opinion - he was absolutely great. And Deion Sanders the person seems like a great guy that gives back to the community, which is great.

It's Deion Sanders as a candidate for the HC job at Nebraska that is mostly flash and little substance because the guy hasn't even finished a 3rd season of coaching college football - and that only at the FCS level. The image of Deion Sanders as HC is what people are really asking for (the flash) because there just isn't enough of a coaching resume to go along with it (the substance). That doesn't mean he couldn't be great as the Nebraska HC, but it does mean we'd hire one of the least proven coaches in P5 - at least of any hire that I can remember.

But would he turn the program back into a winner?

Deion doesnt strike me as the time to be disinterested. I think the reason he would struggle in Lincoln would be is larger than life personality might not mesh well

Deion strikes me as a reality star, more than a football player

"I feel like this is the perfect opportunity for me to finally show that I can be all that my potential is, if that makes sense,” Martinez said this week on KC Sports Network. “You know, I feel really good about the attributes I have and my skill on the field. Now, let’s put it all together and gets some wins and let’s do this thing. I’m confident about that and this is the situation to do it. There’s some incredible pieces and incredible players on this team. Probably the most talented squad I’ve been able to be a part of and that gets me excited. I think it’s a great opportunity for me to take that next step.”

    Hmmmmm….

I guess Wan’Dale wasn’t very talented. Same with Stanley Morgan.  I guess I better look more closely at their roster! Thoughts???

Yes Iraq is a good one. Actually maybe more dumb than this war since they’re halfway across the world and not a former part of what we think is our territory.

Iraq at least had oil, what does Afghanistan have, Taliban, lots of goats, and steep f*ckin mountains...

I mean isn't it basically their version of Vietnam at this point?

I mean I'm not historian but it seems like from what I could gather with a quick search that war's various offenses and escalations lasted a lot longer than this has so far, but the demoralization of Russian ground forces,  way they're getting their asses kicked by the enemy on their soil and wavering public support domestically seem largely the same.

It will be fitting if this is the hill Putin dies on. A completely pointless one chosen out of sheer arrogance.

    Afghanistan was their Vietnam
