  1. Did you guys see what defensive back Davon House (aka Latrell "Choke-a-coach" Spreewell) said? "Honestly, our receivers are like 10 times better than their receivers." Article
  2. While I do not think these 2 people really look alike, you did an awesome job finding 2 pictures where the pose is almost IDENTICAL and there smile and eyes are in creepily similar spots. We just need the spartan to start pointing and pullin people OVAH! NICE WORK! What!?! Check out the eyebrows, jawline, hairline, nose.....the eyes and Estrada's signature smile are different, but I think this one hold it's own!
  3. I thought he looked a bit Frodo-ish, then after googling for the pics, I noticed he looked a lot like the other dude too. Then it hit me...maybe these two hobbit-sexuals were doin' a little shire-shaggin'. My buddies and I used to play this game called 'fake-ass' all of the time. Same concept. We'd see somebody out that looked like a celebrity or someone else we knew, and they'd be a 'fake-ass' version of that person. I've developed my look-alike recognition abilities through years of practice.
  4. and finally.... David Quessenberry / Wally Cleaver....seriously Sorry for all the posts...I didn't want to cram this complete waste of time into a single reply.
  5. Evan Taylor / The Love Affair Nobody Wants to Talk About Ina Liaina / "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka
  6. Louis Schuman / Fieldy (Korn) Patrick Horan-Walker / Rebecca Lobo
  7. AJ Moosa / Orlando Jones & Eddie Griffin Secret Love Child Christopher Owens / Steve McNair
  8. I've got a bunch today... Myles Eden / Bull Shannon Bradis McGriff / Chewbacca
  9. Sweet Vindication!!! Well, I'm glad it was confirmed. I like this board, and certainly don't want to be known as 'that' guy.
  10. Didn't Mike Williams just jump ahead of Burkes at Left Tackle? And didn't Murtha just move over to right tackle this week? No one is trying to 'rope you in' Jack....as far as I know, there are no deadlines set on position changes. Earlier this week, Pelini told the media that some starting positions were still up for grabs. This could have been motivating 'coach speak', but I believe that he really wants players to earn it every day. Also, Marvin Sanders has said a couple of times already that Thenarse was struggling with sticking to his assignments. He said he focuses more on the 'big hit' than making the proper reads and adjustments. The way Pelini coaches, I could definitely see his preference for assignment discipline over knock-out blows...regardless of who the better athlete is (assuming that Thenarse is still struggling with his assignments). Personally, I just want to see the best guys for the team out on that field.
  11. His real name is I. Plaiferna Braska. Justin is his nickname.
  12. That cheerleader must have gotten a tan prior to shaving her eyebrows....she was like George Foreman out there.
  13. I hadn't seen this on any of the media sites...so I passed this along for the benefit of the board. I can understand being cautious about the news you read on a message board, but you guys are acting like I said Baker Steinkuhler was starting at Quarterback. It's not really a stretch of the imagination to know a Husker player....especially a walk-on from Nebraska. With the 'best players play' philosophy, it would be more good news for the relevancy of the walk-on program if he gets the start. I think Wortman might be the only other walk-on in the defensive 2-deep. Like I said, it's a big buzz for him and his family that he's supposed to be starting for the first time. If you don't believe it....don't believe it. He's quietly busted his *** for four and a half years. I hope it pans out, because I'm very excited for him. We'll all find out Saturday evening. GBR
  14. Justin Braska is.... Boy George holding back on the eyeliner?
  15. When a 5th year, senior walk-on is potentially going to start for the first time in his career, it's big news....even to the extended-extended family. Travis....I assumed that a depth chart change isn't based on just one practice....but I think he's been having strong practices through today, and it's been enough to prompt a change. Anyhow, I got the news this evening. I'm in only in the stadium on game days, but I definitely trust the source. He's a great kid. I hope it's accurate information....we're happy for him.
  16. Look for Sr. Matt O'Hanlon to get the start on Saturday against Western Michigan at Free Safety. Apparently, his performance in Thursday's practice was strong enough to push him over Thenarse, who may still be a little up and down in grasping the defense. I doubt this will be long term, but hopefully it's a motivator for Thenarse, who is the better athlete of the two.
  17. Nebraska: 42 W. Michigan: 20 Rushing: 331 Passing: 177 Total Yds: 508
  18. I feel really good about P DIll this year. I just think he's going to explode, I hope he avoids injuries this year., He should have started last year Agreed, he should have started last year. Durring one game (can't rembember wich) he stopped the other team that was inside the 5yrd line all three times. Solo tackles If I may add. It just went to show that the talent wasn't on the field and the players knew it. Just one of many probs as you all know. With him being trimmed down in weight and getting his speed back, I think a few RBs may want to keep an eye out for him. If you remember him comming out of high school, he had MAD speed. I sure hope he stays injury free and woops some A*s. I think it was Wake Forest....when they had him 'jellyrolling' at Nose Tackle.
  19. Lawrence Journal-World: First response to a blog about who would get more chics in Lawrence; Todd Reesing or Michael Phelps. "Uhh as a frequent visitor of the local watering holes and having a few drinks with Reesing myself, there's absolutely no question that Phelps would get more attention. Reesing doesn't even receive all that much attention.. most of it coming from guys wanting to take their picture with (him). KU football is still not that big of a deal to students other than having a reason to get wasted on a Saturday." LINK What? This post was NOT about KU's program being largely irrelevant. Seriously.....
  20. I almost want to cry reading that I'm so happy. A tradition like that is only as meaningful as the staff and players allow it to be. By restricting them to those that have earned them, their value increases. Maybe we'll see two or three blackshirts next week. Maybe we won't. Just the idea of them returning, though, in such a needed way is chilling. Black shirts, blue shirts, whatever.....I'm still gonna !
  21. Jayhawk, Don't listen to these guys who took your post the wrong way. I believe his point was that WMU is not App State and we're not Michigan. This is not a team on our schedule to be worried about more than any other. WMU returns 10 starters on a team that went 5-7.....in the MAC. I know we went 5-7 too, but there's a huge difference between going 5-7 because you have limited talent and good coaching, versus going 5-7 because you can't tackle. I've been kicking the crap out of this horse for a month, but it's still my top argument. Fundamentals, talent and scheme. Bo brings two of those things with him and one of them was already here. We didn't put players in a position to tackle, make a sack or pick a pass. Our coaches failed to teach fundamentals. Our defensive schemes were almost "high school (eat yummy booger)" in nature. It doesn't matter how talented your players are when you set them up to fail week in and week out. Not that this was deliberate, but it happened. Bo gets noticeably pissed off when player's don't practice well. Imagine what sort of standard will be set with the defensive units, especially the starters. This 'miss 8 tackles and keep your job' crap is a thing of the past. I'm certain of it. Our defense doesn't have to be top 10 to be good enough to support a good offensive attack enough to win games. If we could tackle, or adjust, we could have won a few of last year's shootouts. There is a severe defensive issue when you put up 40 points a game and lose 7 of them. Our offense was fine and will be even better this year. Joe Ganz had damn good numbers, starting his first three games....EVER. Don't forget, Ganz wasn't a backup getting a lot of snaps. He was a backup that only threw the ball 20 or so times in 3 years....mostly against Maines and Troys. He's only going to get better. If he were a Freshman and put up those kind of numbers in three games last year, we'd be praising him as a Heisman candidate. Seven picks isn't that bad considering his production. Also, 2 out of those 3 games were on the road, with a coach who thinks passing the ball when your up 10+ points is a good gameplan. I think he had some jitters and undue pressure (trying to save coach's job after Osborne's ultimatum)...and still performed quite well. Our offense will be good. Maybe even fantastic. Jayhawk is correct. WMU should not be a concern (anymore than any other game). Mark it down.... NU by 21 points, 300+ yards rushing.
  22. Which do you prefer? Coach 1 : "Our guys were really challenged and progressing in every aspect of football today. They really got after it and challenged themselves, improving on both sides of the football. Our staff is just doing an incredible job preparing and prepping our players for play in the non-conference arena, as well as in the Big-12. That defense is a heck of a defense; really pushing us to improve and progress every day. Our guys are being mentally challenged, along with having their focus challenged in every period. We are improving, progressing and getting better in every aspect." OR Coach 2 : "It all sucked. We need to practice better. We want perfection." If you tell yourself and your team that everything is 'working well in every aspect' enough times, you'll start believing it. You'll believe it even when you're 5-7. That's fantastic if you're a fan of:
  23. I only believe the rumors if they come from me....and I'm a gullible idiot.
  24. I wouldn't go that far...it harshly underestimates the impact of good coaching.
