  1. I added this in another tread somewhere....movie themed, but not exactly a 'poster'.
  2. What's with the video quality? It's like the Zapruder film.
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGJOvYHw_RE&feature=related T3 is tougher than we think. I'd bet a dollar he's amping up to this.
  4. Tom Osborne is a Christian and if he's doctrinally sound, he's discussing the 'bigger picture' here. His views about greed, the poor and the like, are right in line with Christian doctrine. Investing personal/spiritual value into people in need, rather than material things is the true value of wealth. Christ teaches us to take care of the widows and the orphans as a priority, not after we get done making our Lexus payments. I think spiritually and as a culture, he's exactly right. Al Qaeda is no threat to our relationship with God; quite the contrary. However, our greed and materialistic values certainly can and will be threats to the fabric of our culture and personal salvation. It's the internal obstacles that truly threaten us in the bigger picture. In the realm of relative 'truth', it all depends on what you believe in. If it's the Trinitarian God of the Holy Bible...I think Osborne is right on track. If it's another god or some 'God' we made up (usually some concoction of generic right/wrong and our own opinions and political views)....he could be way off base. --Cheers

  7. Seriously...we're 3 days away from the first game of the season and I'm yet to hear the words "depth chart". Since Bo is playing the 'I know who the QB is' card, the media has been completely distracted from every other position in question. Safety, linebacker, d-tackle, o-tackle....we have no idea how the 2-deep is shaking out. I can't tell if he's enjoying the media control, or if he's just cleverly dangling a carrot.
  8. No way a redshirt freshman led Western Kentucky team that went 0-12 last year scores more points on us than three Sun Belt teams combined, even if our starters are out by the end of the third. I'm sticking by my prediction. I think we'll have the usual first game miscues and turnovers which will result in some extra points for WKU. And switching among 3 QB's won't help with a new center leading to some exchange problems. Plus, I think our defense will have some issues early this season, but should get on track during the Washington game. I don't think WKU has the horses to capitalize on any miscues. FAU was considerably better than WKU last year and they put 3 points on us....when our defense was still figuring many things out. 63-3
  9. 63-3 Personnel, coaching, strategy, confidence....mismatch city.
  10. I was discussing this with a student from Ghana today- Owamagbe is a common name in Ghana. After repeating it 4 times to listen for nuances, I understood his name to phonetically sound out to: Oh-wa-muh-bay Oh-digeh-zoo-wah The last name is not diggy like ziggy but diguh. Slight phonetic alteration, doubt anyone would ever notice in nebraska. I bet anyone who isn't african just butchers it. my 2cents There's a video of him pronouncing his own name, and it's Owámagbe (O-WAH-mug-bay O-diggy-zu-wa). Pretty sure the "diggy" is there since it came from him. I thought the "diggy" was like the word digit... digi-zoo-wuh

  13. Danario just got the news that he wasn't selected...
  14. After watching the presser....between Cody Green and Zac Lee, I want to see Cody Green get a full game under his belt. His confidence and energy seems like it could be infectious.
  15. Sorry, these weren't originally intended to be backgrounds.....so they're an odd size (1280x900). They may work for you nevertheless. GBR
  16. Watched Tech vs. Houston & Tech vs. Texas on ESPN360 yesterday.... Brandon Carter is a mountain of a man, but he looks very slow. He's good with his hands, but once his man gets a step on him, he's a non-factor. He might be too big and strong to get bull rushed outright, but Suh's premier quickness should win 75% of that battle (1 on 1). Carter doesn't have the speed or flexibility to recover after that first move if he gets beat. Suh does most of his damage after the the pocket breaks up and the QB is on the move. Carter can't run with him. Also, judging this matchup based on last year's performance is not wise. Last year Missouri kept Suh in check (for the most part), but as you can see, he has since taken his game to another level. Mark it down: Suh-perman will own.
  17. Were you happy with the product that was wearing Blackshirts in practice (albeit traditionally) 2-5 years ago? He's restoring the tradition by raising the bar on the expectations. Essentially, he's restoring the VALUE of the tradition, instead of just following the perceived rules. Don't confuse Bo's attitude toward the media with his feelings about the Blackshirt tradition. We all know how Bo is....and every day he has a billion people zooming in on a topic that has nothing to do with what happens on the field Saturday. He just seems annoyed with the constant hysteria around these practice jerseys that he'll deliver when he's ready. And frankly, if he thinks his current guys can achieve even higher levels of play....and that's where he wants to set the bar....why are any of us complaining? This is all a part of what is needed to:
  18. CFN has us ranked #5 in the Country behind Virginia Tech: Nebraska 4-1 Last Week: W, at Missouri 27-12 This Week: Texas Tech Why the ranking is too high: The offense took a while to show up against Missouri. So far, that's the only win of note, and while it's a good one, for about three quarters this looked like a team that didn't belong anywhere near the top ten. There's still more to prove, but that chance likely won't come until the Oklahoma game on November 7th. Why the ranking is too low: The Husker defense has become special. It was special to start the season, but after what Ndamukong Suh and the D did to Missouri, now it looks Big 12 title good. If the Big 12's No. 1 pass defense stops Texas Tech next week, then the Huskers might be a lock for the Big 12 Championship. Would a 12-1 champion have a shot at Pasadena? It's not too early to think big for a team with a D this good. They also have the Blackshirts @ #2 on their weekly who's hot/who's not column: 2. The Blackshirts Bo Pelini has withheld the fabled Blackshirt jerseys until he feels his Huskers have earned them. The coach might be forced to give in real soon. Nebraska is No. 2 nationally in scoring defense, failing to yield more than 16 points in any one game. The pass defense has been air-tight, aided by the relentless push up front from linemen Ndamukong Suh, Barry Turner, Jared Crick, and Pierre Allen.
  19. I wonder if any of the media outlets or university would supply some royalty free images for a legitimate site... I was thinking something like this for a splash page...with some flash animation and better imagery of Suh:
