Look, I don't know what a Fordham is but it sounds like a fancy British holiday dish.

I forgot Illinois had replaced Lovie, who coached circles around Frost.  So maybe we have an outside shot making that one competitive afterall.   Week 1 is huge if we wanna make a bowl game.  Which is actually a big "if" with this team.

Dude you are so negative. Lighten up a bit, I’m tired of reading it.

Just watched these highlights and I don't feel good about this game. This is a team that has put up 35+ the last two times we've played them. Will definitely need our offense to show up.

While nothing is a gimme, I don’t think you can look at previous years as a barometer for this game. It is a new coaching staff and they lost a lot of players. Not saying it won’t be difficult, but don’t lose sleep over these highlights.

Thanks again to Coach Osborne for being such a visionary. Those 11-1 votes have come back to haunt the little sisters. I have very fond memories traveling to Manhattan, Lawrence, Ames etc but it's their bed, they have to sleep in it now. I wish them well though, will be very tough sledding for them now.

This is so true. Told somebody today, Osborne saved Nebraska football in 2010. We just weren’t sure until this week that was true.

UNC isn’t tied to Duke. They have nothing in common outside their basketball rivalry. UNC is the big, state school, which gets the best in-state students and is popular with out of state students. Duke is a private school, which attracts more kids from New York City, than it does from local areas. UNC wouldn’t have any issue leaving Duke.

I’m not going to start a big argument, but how familiar are you with UNC?  My family has deep ties to the area.

UNC is tied to Duke.  They aren’t leaving the ACC. They are a founding member and arguably the most powerful voice in the ACC.. Although, some say that is fading with Clemson’s success in football. However, UNC football is helping keep their spot at the top of the conference. Plus, no way UNC leaders are going to leave the ACC and join the Big 10. It is looked at as an inferior conference in both major sports. #IAGDTBATH

Patrick Mahomes had insanely good numbers at Texas Tech but never cracked the Top 10 in Heisman votes (Florida State running back Dalvin Cook did. Remember him?) The argument was that Mahomes played in a college offense that skewed the stats. Also, I think TT had a really s#!tty defense and a losing season in 2016.  So that was probably the right call.

But does having a s#!tty defense mean you're not the best college quarterback? That's where I saw this Tommy, Adrian, Taylor, Eric discussion going.

The Heisman has never been a great indicator of future success. More often it's been the opposite: the high point of a career. But since I'm pretty sure every college competitor was aiming for the NFL his whole life, it does end up getting talked about.

Either you’re joking or don’t watch a lot of the NFL…

Bama missed on both 5 star QBs last season- they took the #13 ranked 4 star.

in 2019 the both 5 star players went elsewhere. Bama got the 8th best- a 4 star.

NIL of $1,000,000 plus per year to the starting Bama QB changes the minds of many Im guessing. NIL is an absolute game changer. NU boosters need to strike so NU can make a name for itself here.

I agree, NU needs to utilize it. Without question. However, it isn’t a game changer for Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Clemson. To act like NIL suddenly elevated Alabama to a level where they can get the best players is ridiculous. They’ve been doing that for 10 years.

We saw Black Widow, too. Good flick. Not worth $12 per ticket. But it's NOT worth it to watch at home for $30, either, I agree.

I will drink $30 worth of beer so it’s worth it for me. Plus family of 4?  Way more than $30

If you could choose one post-college career, you'd probably take Peppers.

Dude, you’d turn down the glitz and glamour of the playground equipment industry?  I question your decision making, sir!

Brandon Jackson to Marlon Lucky to Roy Helu to Burkhead to Abdullah was a hell of a 9 year stretch of productivity.

    Yep, you forgot Cory Ross.

    how about this then:

Jeff Kinney to Tony Davis to Monte Anthony to IM Hipp to Jarvis Redwine to Roger Craig to Mike Rozier to Keith Jones to Ken Clark to Derek Brown to Calvin Jones to Lawrence Phillips to Ahman Green to Dan Alexander to Correll Buckhalter to Dahrran Diedrick

That’s a hell of a 35 year stretch of productivity!

Well, if you read that thread, it gives insight not just on the AD hire, but the thoughts on the Nebraska football program in general. LSU certainly isn't a rival, so they have no reason to spew negativity about us... just the truthful views of an impartial fan base of a team that is currently a national power. Irrelevant is how we're perceived... sad, but true.

Right, but we all knew that already.  Only one thing changes that.  Winning football games.

And their practice facilities?  I've never heard of them being top.  But, I also don't pay that much attention to them.  Have they had a major upgrade recently?

Cook Hall is crazy awesome. Villanova, Kentucky, and Duke I would put up there as well. There is NO DOUBT that Nebraska has some of the best facilities in the country. A case could be made for second at DONU.
