  1. Will happen. I expect us to win out. And stun oklahoma. We rout kansas at home. Win the big 12 north. Defeat texas in the title game. Beat Georgia in the fiesta bowl. Bo is carried off the field and his new nickname will be "the savior" "saint Bo".

and you're avatar is REALly gay! What are they doing, the pecker pound? Don't you usually bump hips or butts on that?

Oh, and you are not back, not yet anyway.

Wow. Now my avatar. I am sorry you guys are not goning 9-3. I am sorry that has happened. I am not sure what my avatar has to do with anything. I like the Red unis for KU. I thought they looked a little like the cornhusker ones, and since I feel a kinship, I put them on my avatar. Sorry you don't like it. I sort of do. Also, I am no expert, but I do not think gay people practice their personal intamacy habits by slamming their bodies together front to front, and I will leave my response to that portion of your post at that, I would rather not debate that sort of thing nor do I care much.

I was just trying to be funny, didn't mean anything negative about it man. Sorry that it came across that way. However the highlighted part above made me literally laugh out loud. Nice.

We do have a kinship, we both hate Missouri. Just wanted to point out that it is kind of a funny move they are pulling.

  3. Ive talked on here about how my inlaws like to talk alot of smack being isu fans but me being the person i am i dont brag or gloat. I havent heard alot of dominating things about isu football anymore this year. Yet they still continue to buy my kids isu things. I dont want my kids to settle for nothing. All isu garments usually end up in the isu box which will get donated to the poor. But they might have better taist then that.

Perhaps they should buy your kids apparel from the college you graduated from...which, if your spelling, puncuation and sentence structure are any indication, must be The College of Hard KnocksKansas State..... <_<

    fixed it for you......

  4. Not a bad ass by any means, but I get tired of being called negative. Anyone with half a brain would see we are not on the level of Oklahoma. But just because some one says we will win does not make it so.

I support this team day in and day out in many ways. The difference is I see what indicates where we will be and what and how we will do it. Others, not to be mentioned just see us winning agaisnt one of the toughest teams in the country because we beat Iowa State. More so because they want us to. Calling a spade as spade is what I am doing. I do not see the possiblities of it happening. I can list numerous reasons it wouldn't, the opposite side can not list a single reason it would happen other than they want it to.

We are down at QB, Oline, Dline, LB, S, TE, not at home, not beatent a top 20 team in 20 outings, and at this time coaching, I really do not belive that but most would say that. Stoops has not been able to win the big game without Blakes kids.

Show me one area where we are better than Oklahoma.

I agree we have a chance, slim or what makes no difference. Anytime you play the game you have a chance, and I will cheering for them win or lose, just like I have for the last 50 some years.. But if we lose, I will understand why and hope our team and a coaching staff learned something from it. That is the way I look at it. Do the best you can every game, and let the chips fall where they may. Most on this board came into the year hoping for improvement, some had thoughts of NC's and undefeated seasons. And some looked at what we had, who we play and what our past performance indicated, and said this is what will happen. Those have been pretty close, and have not been the ones screaming for a coaching change or this player playing. That is where the rub is. If we get beat like Missouri beat us, which there is a good chance, the coashes will be to blame or one of the kids sucks, even Ganz is fair game remember. Go back and look at the posts after the Missouri game. Some are enough to make you sick.

I am positive we are a better team than we were last year, that we are moving forward, but that we have a long way to go. That as a fan is all I need to do.

Agree 100% with every thing in that post.

  5. Eerie how similar this is to OU when Stoops arrived, just saying. Might not be great this year, but I am cautiously optimistic about next year.

Don't hammer me, I am not saying NC season. I am saying quick improvement.

  6. ***SNIP***

The bottom line is that BO wants some consistency. And so far we really haven't gotten that from the defense. TT was not exactly a dominant defensive performance. ISU was, but it was ISU.. and the breakdown early in the 3rd was not so great.

    ***SNIP***

I think you may have struck on the answer to the question. I think that Bo is looking for a level of effort and a degree of assignment-correct play that is consistent - every week. When he sees that, he awards them.

    ding ding ding

    We have a winner.....

    exactly what I was thinking.

  7. Maybe A&M but not Nebraska, not this year, and really, not any year soon to come.

No way does A&M makes a bowl, 2-5 with OU and UT left? They'll be lucky to get past Iowa St on Saturday.......

I think he was saying maybe Baylor will beat A&M, but not Nebraska.

Yeah, Exactly what I meant. Baylor might beat A&M but Not NU..

    :worship

First, you're from Leander? That's epic. I lived in Cedar Park up until the summer after of my sophomore year when I moved to DFW.

Secondly, my whole family has attended Baylor and we've had season tickets since I was a kid. I, of course, am an NU fan and future student. I've seen both sides of this with special insight to the NU football program and the improvements made and getting to see Baylor football up close almost every Saturday. This ain't yesteryear's Baylor team. I'm not saying they're the best in the Big 12, but if you put them in any other conference in the country excluding the SEC, Baylor would be a bowl team and would probably be competing for a championship in some. Robert Griffin will be one of the greatest QBs in Big 12 history by the time he's done. He's in the same mold as Vince Young with a few minor differences...Griff is about 2 inches shorter (VY is 6'5"), a little thinner, has a better arm than VY did, and might be faster (that's debatable). He needs weapons though. Kendall Wright is a phenomenal true freshman WR who at this point in his career, I'd say compares to a poor man's Jeremy Maclin. He doesn't return punts or kicks because the staff can't afford to get him injured. He's too important to the offense. Defense needs definite work, but this team is a lot better than it has been. This year isn't the year to go bowling for Baylor, but next year probably is in my opinion.

So now Griffin is going to be as good or better than Vince Young...there was a Baylor fan on here earlier saying he is better than White from WVU. And saying that he is going to be one of the greatest in Big XII history is a pretty bold statement. I have seen a couple of games and I was not overly impressed. He cannot throw the ball very well and had made some mistakes....not that NU or a freshman has not made any.

You realize Griffin is the only D1 FBS QB who's thrown over 100 passes who has still yet to throw a pick? YES, AND I ALSO REALIZE THAT THEY THROW ALMOST ENTIRELY SCREENS, SWINGS, AND JAILBREAKS. NANCY KERRIGAN COULD COMPLETE A LOT OF THOSE PASSES, WITH THE BAD LEG. You also realize that Baylor has only had 1 turnover in the past 5 weeks and that includes performances in against 3 of the nation's top defenses in UConn, OU, and OSU? DID YOU SERIOUSLY JUST INCLUDE UCONN IN THAT LIST? I said he was better than Pat White and he absolutely is. OPINIONS DON'T COUNT IN THIS TYPE OF ARGUMENT, IF YOU TRULY BELIEVE THIS THEN DEFEND IT. BY WHAT CRITERIA? Again, most people will continue to talk him down because he chose to go to Baylor over bigger schools. I've seen him in every game he's played other than OSU because I couldn't make it to Stillwater and there was no TV. He will be one of the greatest QBs in Big 12 history and if he continues at this rate, probably a first round draft pick. ASININE AND RIDICULOUS.

    Holy sh!t....

What exactly have you seen that screams NFL caliber QB? Chase f'ing Daniel won't be a first round draft pick, you're trying to tell me he is going to be?

He has talent, but he isn't Vince Young. Right now he is what Jammal Lord would be in that offense, except Jammal would have more rushing yards.

  8. You guys are really good at running your mouths. I must admit.

But put up or shut up. Talk is cheap.

Make a bet and show your true belief on the Oklahoma game.

I will bet a month of silence and rename my self Negative Nancy if we beat Oklahoma. Happily I may add.

If we lose to Oklahoma you just have to admit that there is more to winning than praying you can. Stay off the board for one month, change your screen name to indicate that you believe in Pixie Dust, inforced by the mods either way. Newearth can do it I am sure.

No points just a straight up bet. Bet is off on either side if this weekend or prior to the start of their game, either team looses a star player from the offense or defense that would change the game.

    Deal or No Deal.

    Money/Actions talk, Bull$hit walks.

Whoa, whoa. Calm down there tough guy. Don't think you have to bet to believe. That is kind of ridiculous, don't you think?

What is wrong with them believing in the nearly impossible? I agree, the chances of beating OU are low. Let them have their fun. I know you'll be supporting the Huskers during that game just like everyone else, and I know you realize that (sorry for the cliche) Rome wasn't built in a day.

Hoping the Huskers win the Big 12 North and believing they are going to are two different things. It is important for the team to believe that, not for us. There is nothing wrong with being realistic as well as optimistic.

Just don't threaten people with dumb bets like that, how does that prove what they believe? I got one, if you stop being an internet tough guy I'll give up my board privileges, and my car, and my house, and my Jenna Jameson porno classics. If I don't do it then I don't truly believe you are a bad a$$.

  9. The North is still a 2 team race between MU and KU.

I disagree. Colorado is a good team, and Nebraska has KU at home. I think it is Mizzou's to lose, and if they drop one or two more, you heard it here first, look out for the Cornhuskers.

Kansas was a good story for a year, and they didn't look that good Saturday. OU looked that bad. Between losing their best defensive player and their best receiver and the emotional letdown from their biggest game of the year they were flat.

Kansas is not going to win the North. Matter of fact, I don't see a sure win left on their schedule. KSU is the one I really feel is up in the air (along with NU). They could lose out guys, and that is a reality.

    10/25 No. 8 Texas Tech

    11/01 Kansas State

    11/08 @ Nebraska

    11/15 No. 1 Texas

    11/29 @ No. 15 Missouri

Show me a game on there you are truly confident about. Confident enough that if you're woman made plans you wouldn't go balistic on her about it if you had to miss the game.

  10. I think MU bounces back this week. I'm still not convinced texas is coached well enough to put forth a complete effort every week.

You are kidding me, right? I would make that argument against Pinkel and Mizzou, not Texas and Mack Brown.

    Wow.

You would argue that Mack Brown is a better coach than Pinkel? I have to disagree. Mack Brown consistently fields under achieving teams with world-class talent. The guy should write a book on how to squander talent. Texas has a top 5 recruiting class virtually every year since the mid 90s, and they have only 1 NC to show for it. As far as I am concerned, the only saving grace of the Texas coaching staff is Will Muschamp.

I would also argue that the current Mizzou team is extremely well coached by a guy who knows how to use the weapons he has. It would not surprise me if they beat Texas.

    Where to start....

Mack Brown has won 9 games every year at Texas and 10 for the last 7. I would argue that Pinkel has wasted more good talent than Pelini has on his roster. You honestly believe that Pinkel knows how to use the talent he has? Even a blind dog finds a tree to piss on, and that is what you have with Daniel and Maclin.

Brad Smith has been brought up, but this team has underacheived for years. With the talent he has now it is no wonder he is winning when it doesn't matter, yet still manages to be unable to get over the hump and win any kind of a championship whatsoever. Mack Brown has won not only a conference title, something Pinkel hasn't done and won't do this year, and a National Championship.

Only one NC, you say. That is idiotic. Only one is more than 7 teams in the Big 12 have ever won.

I also don't put much stock into these so-called recruiting experts. You can plainly see that product on the field in Lincoln right now. They don't know they're a$$ from a hole in the ground when it comes to what these kids will do on the field in college.

I seem to remember a coach that we all loved that didn't win a NC for 22 years, squandered a lot of chances, but won 9 games every year. Mack Brown has a lot in common with Tom Osborne.

You just are blind to it because he coaches Texas.

  11. I think MU bounces back this week. I'm still not convinced texas is coached well enough to put forth a complete effort every week.

You are kidding me, right? I would make that argument against Pinkel and Mizzou, not Texas and Mack Brown.

    Wow.

  12. You all need to put down those Dixie Cups of Kool-Aid you all are drinking from

Mental warfare at it’s finest here people.

Of course a down marker holder guy would have to have absolutely no morals to do something like that…

wildly waving their arms and acting like lunatics on every pass play

¾ page picture of Pelini and a big story about how great he is since he started his career carrying Hayden Fry’s spit cup or something at Iowa. Chizik is pissed….

I suggest that your team just stay at home and forfeit the game to us right now….

    down marker holder guy, hahahaha

    that was classic stuff

  13. From the LJS and the secondary coach, Asante blew the coverage on the 4th and 5...do you really think Bo was dumb enough to put single coverage on Crabtree in that situation?

    http://huskerextra.com/articles/2008/10/12...40598613788.txt

With the game tied at 24 and Tech facing a fourth-and-5 from its 36 with barely more than four minutes remaining, the Red Raiders lined up to go for it. Then they actually snapped the ball and ended up with a 47-yard pass from Graham Harrell to Michael Crabtree.

Now, whether the Red Raiders really wanted to go for it or not? That’s tough to say.

“That was tough, because I think they thought our defensive tackle jumped,” Husker defensive coordinator Carl Pelini said. “I think they had a no play called. They thought our D-tackle jumped and the center snapped the ball, but the official didn’t throw the flag. Everyone kind of stopped. It’s just one of those freak things that kind of happens in sports.”

Even Leach said: “Well, we were hoping he was offside. I was thinking he was.”

No matter the intent, the result was monumental. Though Husker cornerback Armando Murillo finally made the tackle on Crabtree, NU secondary coach Marvin Sanders said it wasn’t Murillo’s fault. The senior was supposed to have help from a safety. The help wasn’t there. Tech put the ball in the end zone to go up 31-24 with 2:21 left.

    I stand corrected.

but it's not solely on Asante in that position either. Murillo SHOULD NEVER have let a receiver the quality of crabtree behind him... thats pretty basic. no?

No probably not. It was sort of half and half on crabtree. Murillo got caught looking in the back field and Asante had a lot of ground to cover and probably some responsibility on another receiver in the middle of the field.

From watching the Neb Football Show and using DVR to pause and rewind I watched that play over and over. It appears it was a straight Cover 2. Murillo is to have mid to short flat, linebackers the middle, the nickel back the other side flat, free safety center, SS (Asante) deep third (Murillo's side) and the opposite CB deep third. The main problem, and the reason that Asante mis read the play is because the front 7 gave up on the play. The DL didn't rush, the LB dropped all their responsibilities, thus making the secondary have to react quickly. Asante probably made the decision to take that post route because that is the easiest throw against a cover 2 and he had to act quickly. Murillo didn't have a choice because by the time he went to release Crabtree Asante was so out of position, due to covering the job of the LB, that he was beat. All comes down to, as Carl Pelini said, the oddness of the play itself and that most thought it would be blown dead. Play to the whistle, right?

Pelini believes strongly in the zone blitz scheme, and relys on different variations of zone for his coverage. It is a principal from the NFL that works fantastic when run correctly. The problem is that when one breakdown occurs, you don't have the backup like you do in a 2 deep man scheme that NU typically ran in TO's days. It is a better system for today's game, and once the system is understood, it will be dominant. Look at the tapes from NU '03. That system has evolved and gotten better as evidenced by LSU last year. Truly beautiful if you watch the disguises and blitzes from the secondary. Don't know how a QB could read this defense. Probably why he's been so good.

    Sorry for the rant.

  14. Its a good idea for this season, especially against top tier teams. I still think we need to run the ball on Baylor, ISU, and KSU. We have to form that identity if that is what we want in a team. You can't form that identity on the practice field, the players won't believe they can do it until they do it against familiar foes over and over again in games. That is what builds confidence.

  15. Hey checkout this funny video we did about KSU!!

It's at www.aggiereport.com top of the page.

    TWINE?

    :rollin

However, I hope KSU beats you. Just because that was stupid for fans of a bad team to make.

BTW, they have the same amount of conference championships as you.

...and they have been to 3 championship games and you've been to two, and not one since 1998 where it took you 2 OTs to beat guess who?

    Yep, Kansas State.

    Idiots.
