When has Trev said  either of those guys are being hired???? Seriously some of the dumb s#!t that gets posted here, NO ONE KNOWS s#!t but everyone jumps to stupid conclusions. Just because some goon on a message board brings up names doesn't mean s#!t, some twat on a podcast doesn't mean s#!t , some talking head looking for veiws says a name,  doesn't mean s#!t.

Bonus points for the use of the word “twat”

Plus when SF was hired everyone was saying the program was in the worst shape ever and it was a 4-5 yr turn around type of project. A lot wanted him gone at yr 4, the BARE minimum of what a turn around should take. Not overly patient when you look at it from a turn around standpoint. He basically got the minimum and only bc his name was SF.

I think you would need to be improving every year not getting worse for it to remotely resemble a “turn around”.

Although I agree with most of what is said, the big picture also shows we have been a turnstile with coaches and become very impatient. Our boosters are slightly better than Auburn, but not as much as some would like to believe. SEC still rules college football and is more attractive to recruits and coaches.

Not a good take considering how patient we just were with Scott Frost…

Haven't won a conference title since 1999, we're approaching three decades of hardware drought in that area.  Haven't even been bowling since 2016, coming up on a decade there too.  Every time we make a move it ends up being the wrong one.  When we do make the right move, other circumstances deter it from working.  Cursed, snakebit, voodoo doll in Solich's closet call it what you will but this program is definitely cursed.

    23=30 and 6=10

I tell ya, this new math stuff really confuses me!!  Lol

I will give credit where credit is due TA if I remember correctly didn't make a smart decision not firing SF last season bc of his performance. Now I know what your going to say is that I was one of the few that supported SF till the end and I can admit I was wrong bc look at what kind of sh*tshow we have delt with this season. Could we have had better results this season bc of a new coach who knows but there wouldn't be that much pressure on MJ to win with what he has to work with now.

Your posts give me a headache.

Word is that some highly influencial boosters (and a certain someone whose name rhymes with "Mom Cosnorne") stepped in and prevented Green from allowing Trev to drop the hammer. The first three games of the year went a long ways towards showing these certain peoples the light, and a few of these boosters came up with the cash to get rid of him ASAP.

I have also heard this. Pretty much exactly.

And virtually every big recruit that comes to campus specifically reports getting to sit down with Frost.

But it's a fun story to believe that he decided to meet with all those other recruits but passed on the biggest one he's ever had.

Oh, I don’t believe it. I just thought I’d highlight the stories don’t even match. Severe and Benning are DBags

This sounds like a wonderful story.

But coaches can not even have in-person contact with recruits until July 1st before their senior year.

Raiola committed to Ohio State on May 9th.

So if Frost did, in fact, back out of the meeting (which seems extremely unlikely) the reason would be "because it would be an NCAA violation".

The version of this I was told was an on-campus meeting which is permissible beginning junior year.

There seems to be hope bigger changes will be made in bye week, but why give Chins more responsibility if that’s the case?

it’s clear the safeties need more attention.  There have been numerous busted coverages and missed tackles at the position.  But, it’s a very interesting move for other reasons.  Chins has zero experience coaching the position, & 2 of the top 3 S’s are converted CB’s.

Coincidently, Bill Busch is also a secondary coach and on staff already…

Yes it could.  The donor could use it for NIL.

I don't know anything about what the conditions are.  And neither do you.

But you're flat wrong to say it couldn't happen.  It definitely could.  It didn't but that doesn't mean it couldn't.

That’s what I meant. Neither of know. So to hang Trev out to dry when you don’t know is a pretty crappy thing to do. And you don’t have a history of doing that, which is why I say you’re better than that.

It literally is how it could work.

Or it literally couldn’t. People donate money for specific purposes. How do you know that extra $7.5 million for the coach dismissal wasn’t marked as only for that and nothing else?  You don’t. You weren’t there. You have absolutely no idea how this went down. None. So stop this. You’re better than this Mavric.

We don't know the whole story, so it's not worth getting worked up about. Some dude may have said he's taking his planned 10 million donation to Iowa City if Frost isn't fired today. Who knows, and who cares right?

Exactly. You know who is in a better position and has tons more experience to make this decision versus some guy on the internet who has never run a top 20 athletic department?  Trev Alberts.

I can just as easily say spending $7.5 million to gain 3 weeks before firing a coach isn't the smart financial decision you think it is.

How much did the Huskers spend on NIL this last season? Was it even $7.5 million? Or how much on assistant coaches? Claiming that $7.5 million doesn't matter seems pretty unfounded.

I'm open to how gaining 3 weeks was worth $7.5 million. How did that help the program moving forward vs spending that money on new coaches or NIL?

Dude, let it go. Alberts’ job is not in danger. Nobody is going to care in a year about this buyout. Big Ten teams, especially ones like Nebraska, basically print money.

And stop acting like we can just “spend that money on NIL”. That just isn’t how it works.

And that would be a bad decision by Trev. Instead Trev says, "Done. In 3 weeks we'll announce it and get make that money you're giving go even farther than if I did it today."

The additional $7.5 million is still money we could have had going forward instead of paying it to the fired coach. For the next set of assistant coaches, NIL money, etc.

Firing Frost now instead of in 3 weeks is just frustration and knee-jerk reaction instead of careful planning. Handicapping the next coach/NIL deals is not a good way to move forward.

This just isn’t how it works. Like, at all.

Is it likely that NU is going to beat OU?  No it isn't.  However, keeping Frost around any longer and him getting any more wins (even if unlikely) would have put more doubt into the fans' thoughts about the decision.  Trev saw enough last year, but he had to let the boosters see for themselves that Frost needed to be fired.

This is the winner. If you think Alberts is incompetent than you don’t know that he wanted to pull the trigger last year and others didn’t. Now they are convinced.

Maybe Trev just seen enough.   Maybe he doesn't think losing to Georgia Southern is acceptable.  Maybe he wasn't as worried about that 7 mil as he was when he made the deal.  Weird that any of us would be more worried about that 7 mil more than him.

Maybe the date of the lowered buyout wasn’t ever about the money but trying to light a fire under Frost to instill a sense of urgency.

Remember when we used to cream other teams to remind them they didn't belong on the field???? Can anyone remember when the tide started to change. Where we got worse and other teams like Illinois or Minnesota got better or even before that where we started to struggle against lesser talented teams?

Makes perfect sense. Rhamir is a good Duck-R option. Frost just needs to realize, Whip don't Duck-R.

Lol. Exactly. That’s why it doesn’t make sense, which I think you agree with. He can’t let go and just let people do their jobs. It (among other things) will cost him his job.
