ISU had their best team ever, started in the top 10 and were a darkhorse to make the playoffs.

They currently have 4 losses with two more on the way.  Basically could be a historic collapse for a team that started where they did.

It is not like they lost to powerhouses either.

Ok, but they aren't USC or Texas or Florida State either, regardless of where their one "supposed to be great" season ends up...

Hard for me to take away anything from a Freshman with 30 total carries, really no point in railing on him for that sample size. Rex and Ameer looked pedestrian when they were toting the rock as freshman as well. There is a lot of talent in our RB room, definitely a room where we can afford a transfer.

    No they didn’t.

Rex missed 5 games and was still the second leading rusher on the team as a TRUE freshman.

Ameer was 2nd Team All-Big Ten and on the All-Freshmen team as a returner as a TRUE freshman.

Frost just fired four offensive assistants; one being the offensive coordinator after less than a calendar year who is a long-time friend of Frost. The next OC will be the third in five years.

Frost is on the hot seat heading into 2022, meaning this could be a one-year (or less) job for these assistants. Recruits (both high school and transfer portal) and parents of recruits know this, which is likely why Frost has only landed verbal commitments from two high-school recruits during the 2021 season. With the four offensive coaches being fired, attrition amongst last year's and this year's offensive recruits is likely to be high.

Given these current conditions, what quality of assistants do you think are actually interested in taking these jobs?

Man. You didn’t even fix the hook on your second attempt at this one.

Dude, is he Marty McFly?  How did he coach two seasons here in less than a calendar year?

They have only had a few games to really evaluate this staff.  Frost needs time to develop these kids.  We have really good coaches and really good players.

Grin it and bear it.  Frost is here to stay.  He loves these kids.

    Not sure if serious…

Next year's schedule should be our 10+ win season in year 5.

It SHOULD be. It’s going to be awfully hard to talk me into believing even above .500 given this staffs history and we will be replacing half of our defensive starters, 2 TEs, our best WR, and the QB.

I also believe that is how you feel as well.

Mike Leach is the worst human ever and if Scott's USF offense is ineffective in the Big10, Leach's would be even worse.  It won't beat the fing meat grinder that is Big10 defense. I used to think all of the hullabaloo over Big12 vs Big10 was just that... But man, this damn conference sucks. It is so damn physical.. So many opportunities for slip ups and they will make you pay.  It's crazy here. If you have a gimmick offense, it will get tripped up here and there. If you chose to go ground and pound, eventually it will be bested by something more creative. The only way to win here is to recruit 4-5 stars consistently and just out talent everybody else.. So.. We need to get a great coach that had enough name capitol to bring in the A listers.  #Sabanorbust!  Otherwise.. Scott is going to be good.. But it's 5 years out still.  I hope he can eek out enough to get that time.

This is Frosts way of saying the heart and soul of the team is sick of this sh!t and will be out the remainder of the season to heal up for the combine since we are not going bowling for the 5th year in a row.....

That’s about the perfect way to end this season.

All you de-frosters, if we were sitting at 6-3 right now down a td with the ball tos tart the third against the team you'd have to feel pretty good about the game so far.

This is a good position to be in. Regardless of the current convo.

We are in the game, but we are always in the game. Whether is is against a Top 5 team or B1G bottom feeder. That’s the issue. I hope we win out and Frost gets it fixed.

It’s highly unlikely that happens, however.

Actually, I'm not stating that to say that he is "all-in" on Scott.  I'm not the one being "unfair" in my words.  He is the one who is using "words" to say something and not say something ... which is all good.  Thus, if you are not going to give Husker Nation any thoughts until the end of the season ... that's great!  I will await to hear his words at the end of the season and his "evaluation".

I agree with that. Wait until the year is over. This “statement” talk is inaccurate, I hope. I don’t want to remove a coach during the season. I hope that isn’t the move.

As I understand it, Trev if the "face" to the three voices.  Prior, he choose to shape the conversation as "there are only 1-2 games to make an evaluation".  Okay, fine.  That is not true.  I would call it a "white-lie" at best.  But okay, I'll play the game.  It's more than obvious that rather than express concern or show a lack of support for Frost [it's like when they gave him the two-year extension ... showing "support" to prop up his failings] during the season ... then Trev choose to shape the words the way he did.  That's all find and good.

So, since, he has been given the leeway ... and we defer all judgment/evaluation until after the season.  Okay, good.  That's fine.  I am with and it sounds like they will make a "statement".  They will do so to "float" what they want.  This is all for their advantage.   They could just let it play out ... as you suggest.  But they won't because their is a view they wish to push [as I see it].

The only sane thing for me [as one who feels emotionally abused] is to give my own "kickback" toward the whole BS of it all.  In fact, there is a part of my thinking that sees that Remember The Titans scene where the defensive coach says, "Run it up Herman!  Leave No Doubt!!"  For me, it feels like I'm wanting and cheering for OSU in that.  This is all because of the "way" the words are being shaped to support their [the three voices] view.

It would be nice to just not care.  It all just sucks and has been a big disappointment.

Trev wasn’t directly referencing Frost in that comment. He was asked about other schools firing coaches mid season and used the 1-2 games comment regarding that. Please stop using it to cement that Trev is all in on Frost. He may be, but that comment isn’t a reason why.

    No, you are so wrong.

The only reason he was hired was to hire HCSF.  And everybody was happy for that.

Come here for a few years and move on.

But he also happened to help out some of the other athletic departments.

He did what he was hired to do, and leave into the sunset of washington.  He wasn't hired to be a lifer and keep a leash like you think.

Dude, Hedley is right on with his account of Moos and why he was let go. It was literally because he spent way too much time at his ranch and Frost took advantage and got the University into an NCAA investigation.
