Recreational weed to the rescue! Help pay for the building, lower property taxes, less risk of players getting busted for Gary Green. It's a win!

I think Nebraska is in trouble. I'm betting AD Moos and Coach Frost think that too.

I have to admit that I'm losing interest in Husker Football. It's weird to even type that but it's just not been much fun to be a Husker fan for quite a while now. It's a game, supposed to be fun...

Settle this on the field.

I get why people are piling on.
If the court case drags, well then in my opinion it’s just too damn bad for Mo. There have been chances for this to be over, and consequences exist.
I understand hes talented but I have questions if the the juice is worth the squeeze, especially considering the odds are decent he might get into trouble again.
Anyway, this is cluttering up a depth chart thread and I’ve said my piece on the matter.
You clearly have never dealt with the legal system and have no idea what you're talking about.- 1

Can we just have our defensive linemen line up backwards, back their way through the line before spinning around untouched in the backfield??? It's a thought...

He shouldn’t be needed to put southern Alabama away, so sit him and get this thing resolved once and for all.

Oregon stands out as significant in this graphic. They have run a similar offense to what we're using, and still have an outstanding turnover margin. I would expect at team like Iowa to have an excellent turnover margin due to the nature of their offense, very low risk, but was surprised to see Oregon even better given the explosive nature of their offensive style.

They can also use the body monitors to gather data that can be used to predict injuries before they happen, and that isn’t something a coach is gonna announce at a press conference. “The data told us Wandale might pull a muscle today.” It sounds dumb even though it isn’t.
I don’t know if they’re actually doing this, but they can.
Body monitors to predict injuries before they happen??? What is this magic you speak of?

The way they rave about Cam, he’s not going anywhere, and I doubt the position will really be locked up. If both guys happen to be really good after this season, I’m guessing they’ll both play and possibly at different positions on the OL. Assuming Cam stops injuring his feet.
Cam's injury history is really concerning. Part of being an athlete, especially in a contact sport, is durability.
As the best predictor of future injury is past injury, I don't like his chances of staying healthy with the repetitive lower extremity problems he's already experienced.- 1

Mirror muscles don't make powerful football players. Who cares about arms on a RB???
Hips, thighs, and a powerful midsection make athletes. Biceps and 6 packs are for the mirror dancers.- 9

Most strongmen competitors are well over 300 pounds and have six packs. Not saying that he's chiseled, but it's doable with a crap load of muscle.
This is completely false.

I don't think anyone would like to see their daughter or sister experience what is alleged to have happened with this girl. I think the people who are rushing to judgement may be having a hard time imagining their son or brother being in MoWa's position though. I have a 24 yr old son and a 19 yr old daughter. Unfortunately in today's world these things are a very real issue. As in all things we do the best we can to enlighten them and give them as many tools as possible to deal with it and hope they make the right decisions. But they are still in the real world where this type of thing is commonplace and peer pressure and fitting in are likely more pertinent issues to them. It shocks and saddens me to know what some of these kids do on a daily basis, knowing they have failed to weigh the long term consequences and repercussions. Personally, I am not considering his status as a football player. That isn't influencing my thoughts at all. Honestly I am imagining this happening to HS friends of my daughter or my son or daughter. I feel very bad if in fact the girl was subjected to sexual assault (which we do not know for sure) and I feel bad for her if this came back to her in a revenge porn way. But until a lot more facts come out and it is proven otherwise, I also sympathize with MW and really feel it is wrong to throw about the phrase "child pornography" in relation to this situation. Kids don't magically transform just because they've attained 18 or 19 years of age. It's a travesty all around but I do wish people would hold their judgement, at least until the first facts are in and then maybe further until they actually know the motives and the people involved.
This is really well stated.

I guess I'm not really seeing that correlation. Yes, the resistance is encountered in the front. But you are also leaning forward such that your center of mass is in front of your feet. In that aspect, back squats would more closely approximate the body positioning of facing resistance from the front. When you do front squats, your shoulders would be farther back, leaning relatively away from resistance from the front which is the opposite of what you'd want to do.
Think force vectors instead of body position. A front squat more closely mimics the force production needed to block. It's also safer, though it does require more skill which isn't always easier for the s&c staff with 100+ novice to intermediate lifters.

Honest question: what makes the front squat better?
In football, the resistance is generally encountered in front of the athlete, especially linemen.
Would emphasize back squat and deadlift more in my speed athletes. Posterior chain builds speed.
Different positions have different requirements for s&c.

I think a lot of the supposed increases in strength were due to different styles of movements. In my opinion the front squat is far more you useful in football than a back squat but the numbers are smaller, especially amongst novice and intermediate lifters. Technique is certainly more sensitive in a front squat which limits a lot of non barbell athletes.

Good bumper plates have an internal metal disc and that disc won't detach from the rubber portions like the cheaper Rogue stuff.
More likely, they just get dirty and look "worn" after use and for a showpiece weightroom, it wouldn't be quite as sharp looking.
As far as squats: Front<High Bar Backsquat<Low Bar backsquat. There might be a 20% difference between front and high bar, and another 10% from high bar to low bar back squats. -
I guess this is a thing we do now. Saw a picture of an area code on the front "label" of the helmet, above the facemask, similar to how UCF did it last year.

I wish nothing but the best for him.
Except against the Broncos, then, maybe just an "off" day or something.- 1
