Agree with CM. Especially snatch, highly technical lift that takes years to do safely and effectively at high enough weights to build athleticism. Snatching 100 lbs poorly will only beat up joints and it's too light to develop strength/power for the activity. It's almost a perfect example of poor exercise selection for training football players IMO. Clean/pc/hc is a very different animal and much more appropriate in terms of risk:reward.

And on that day, South Dakota lost 31-3...
Yes but the school I graduated from SDSU beat YSU 38-8 last week!! Go Jacks! Made my heart glad. SDSU Jackrabbits - always better than the USD coyotes.
Here's a quote from the post-game:
While the announced attendance for Saturday’s loss was 14,974, the actual Stambaugh Stadium crowd appeared smaller and cleared out significantly in the second half under rain and 40-degree temperatures.
The turnout for a contest featuring no. 11 YSU and no. 7 SDSU disappointed Pelini, who bit his tongue while addressing the topic.
“There hasn’t been a great crowd since I’ve been here,” the first-year coach said. “It used to be around here that ... I’m not going there. I got enough issues of my own.”
Lol... Bo is endearing himself to yet another fan base.

#reasonableexpectations
Programs bigger than Nebraska have gone through these difficult times. Overcoming adversity will make the championships all the sweeter when they come.
As for me, I stand with my team in the championship years, and the tough ones.
Perhaps my cheers will drown out the noise from the know-it-alls hell bent on instant gratification.

I wonder why Memorial stadium was unavailable for USA's walkthrough?

upsets? Or comebacks?

Honor code my ass.

what do you expect? byu like notre dame are nothing but frauds who want to appear to be the moral authorities, we never should have scheduled scum like this. at least miami is honest about what they are.
A little too much? Inappropriate for a football forum?
-
I wonder what the change in regards to lifting shoes was. Are they wearing them now and weren't before or vice versa? It would be interesting to know the thought process behind that decision.
-
Guys from Bo's staff fallowing him to YSU. Is it any different then Guys from Rileys staff coming to NU with him. NO but since they are fallowing Bo everyone has to hate it.
You are not understanding what has been written thus far.

Athleticism always comes down to the hips.

Um, football coaching news?
-
Too much focus on the past is what got us into this mess. You are only as good as your next performance. What happened decades ago is not "yours". Go make your own history on the field of play.

Chaddy wins the prize!

Why wouldn't "anybody" want to be HC at Nebraska? I don't think we pull a headliner from the NFL or a premiere college program, but there are lots of names of quality individuals who would love to come to Nebraska.
Money, check.Facilities, check.
Tradition, check.
Sounds like a pretty good gig to me. -
I think a lot of us liked the idea of Bo. Liked his style (except the horror movie face that seems to be his natural expression under stress), but ultimately, it's his performance as a coach that should retain or lose his coaching position.
It's not personal, it's business.

Baytown:
Are you familiar with a straw man logical fallacy? (I'm not referring to our defense)- 3

Hedley makes a great point, Wisconsin isn't exactly brimming with more talent than we are. They are just using their talent to beat the living crap out of us.

Did they give up 408 yards rushing to one player?

I don't blame the players. I think that we have talent and that they want to win as much as any team.
-
Until this last episode, I would have agreed with you.

Baytown;
I realize you are being intentionally dense in order to make a point, but the situation is regarding the coaching change which is becoming increasingly likely with each catastrophic embarassment.

Most of us are still reeling from the catastrophic loss yesterday. There is a lot of speculation and a some desperation throughout Husker Nation. We used to have genuine program "insiders" who would give us information as they could, one in particular was never wrong. Can anyone shed light on our current situation? Is the decision still being made? Is there a timeline?
I understand that these things are time and delivery sensitive but somebody knows and when it makes sense to do so, we'd like to know too. Heck, PM someone you trust and let them be the puppet if necessary.
It's getting cold out here on the ledge... -
I admire your misplaced faith.Halftime came at a good time. They'll adjust and get the momentum back. Down by only 7 and still in the fight.
Not misplaced. This team has come back from worse positions. Not a quitter!

But the clean also builds hip power and body tension, at 30% higher loads, with MUCH less of a learning curve and likely less injury potential to shoulders.
