  1. I've even talked to a few players who say Taylor isn't really having any trouble with it right now.

I sure hope this is correct. Having a ligament injury, the healing time is quite slow and at sub-maximal levels of exertion it can feel pretty good. Game situations demand maximal exertions though and that's what has me worried. I sincerely hope that I'm wrong and that Taylor is healing well.

  2. The ISU game would be evidence to the contrary...

CG makes me very nervous. With Lee I'd be fairly confident.

Hopefully Green will get in the groove with more playing time and he'll start living up to his potential. I'd think his comfort level has to improve with more time and repetitions under his belt.

  3. Except in the case of an unstable sprain where there may be a complete rupture of a ligament. If it's completely ruptured, you aren't going to do any more damage to that particular structure, though the supporting tissue that is now responsible for the stability of the joint may be damaged by further play. In general I agree with you Jason but we don't have any specifics of the injury (nor should we).

  4. So IF Taylor is going to be very limited due to an unstable high ankle sprain (reported in Zac Lee thread) and Lee is done with a torn labrum, now what the hell do we do? Neither of these injuries are going to heal quickly.

Option 1: Cody Green and continue a similar gameplan.

Option 2: Rex Burkhead in a mostly wildcat and let Rex throw the ball enough to keep the defenses honest.

    Option 3: ???

Is there another QB who is currently redshirting? Carnes? Would it be worth burning his shirt at this point in the season? I'm guessing it is not likely to happen unless Green gets hurt but is it an option at all?

We're in a pretty bad situation right now.

  5. I feel sorry for people who laugh at true Husker fans because these fans feel connected.

And I feel sorry for people who have lost sight of reality and believe that their thoughts/actions actually affect the outcomes of Husker football games.

  6. If I remember correctly, the receiver maintained control with the ball well past this photo and had it knocked free after both players were on the ground. Great concentration by the tiger receiver and a heads up play by Prince at the last possible moment. I agree that it is a cool photo.

  7. There is no "North" anymore in the Big 12, starting next year. Missouri can't work their way through a weak division to a shot at the conference championship anymore. They gotta beat OU and Texas and the rest of the south head on.

Yes. There is no "North" after this year. Just a round robbin with two seriously bigger dogs (UT and OU) and no CCG to boost end of year ratings. The Big 12 will lose a lot more than Nebraska due to the loss of the CCG. I'm not saying that Mizzou isn't a good team, they are, but their attempt at relevance will become much more difficult as of next year. Unless you beat OU and UT, in which case you deserve the national attention. I'm afraid that the Big 12 is going to become a "sudden death" conference. One loss and you're done with no chance to gain ground late in the season...

  8. The kid at OSU is likely out for the season, btw

I'll bet that only "dirty" hits have any potential to end a season due to injury. Oh, wait... That would be an absolutely STUPID comment as it's a pretty harsh contact sport we're talking about.
