  1. I'd rather see him start as a redshirt freshman than a true freshman. For example, I think KState would have been better off redshirting Freeman. Time will tell about the kid from Baylor. I hate seeing a true freshman start for a team that is somewhat struggling. How many rookie QB's in the NFL make it that start that first year on a struggling team? After taking big hits, they seem to lose their confidence.

Big Ben went to a super bowl... <_<

  2. It's 3rd and 6, down on KU's 16 yard line, there's 25 seconds left in the game and NU is trailing KU 17-13.

Who do you want in at IB???

    Helu or Lucky?

Wow, that sounds remarkably similar to Hillary Clinton's red phone commercial..and we all now how that worked out for her. <_<

Seriously though, I love Lucky for coming back and I appreciate everything he has done for us, and I would pick him on 3rd and 6. I just think its time to start prepping for the future with Helu.

  3. Should he be done running the ball? How many chances can one guy be given? What a about a switch to the defensive side of he ball? He can hit, but can never hang onto the ball. I don't think he deserves another carry this year. You have two more than capable backs to carry the load in Helu and Lucky. I would like to see Castille sit the remainder of the year.

    Your thoughts?

dedhoarse His year should be done at RB, I wouldn't be opposed to him switching to LB and causing some fumbles, because he owes us a few. I'm just sick of holding my breath everytime he carries the ball, when we have Helu and yes, even Lucky who is more than able to carry the ball. There is no sense in wasting his size and speed, so I hope we see Q on the other side of the ball.

The real question is, if he were to move to LB, do we redshirt him next year so he can get a better grasp of the D, or just let him go?

  4. I took these pictures on my mobile, so sorry if the quality is a lil bad, but enjoy

I saw a white board with a play on it, so i decided to snap a pic

  5. In the second quarter when it was 35-7 and OU had 4th and one from about the 5 or so, do you think it was a no-class call to go for it?

I had a few disagreements with some OU fans because I thought that was a bad call, unless they were just trying to pile it on.

  6. I had a great time in Norman yesterday, reguardless of the outcome. OU some of the classiest fans in the nation! Not once did I get harrassed, a few poked fun, but they were cool guys. I talked to a lot of fans to get their perspective, and they told me they know Pelini is the right guy, they told me to hang in there because they had to go through Blake and Schnellinburger (sp?) before they got good again.

I got to sit next to this girl, who was a husker fan and she was DRUUUUUNK!!! She made for some good company, even though she was completely wasted. Had she not looked terrible (or, had I been the one drinking), it could've been a good night ;) hah. However, she did start to get a little mouthy once we scored our second td in the 2nd quarter...I then proceeded to cover her mouth.. <_<

In the fourth quarter everyone started to clear out, so I went to get a better seat..I got to watch the ENTIRE fourth quarter from the 50 yard line from about 10 rows up. When there was about 3 mins left in the game I went down by the husker bench and stood there the rest of the time...I got some great pictures. I actually got a shot of a white board that a play was drew up on.

After the game was over, my buddy and I were leaving the stadium and they were showing the Tx-TT game on all of the TVs...I almost felt like an OU fan cheering for Tech with them. I met this really cool guy, who approached me and told me that he really respects Nebraska, and if he isnt rooting for OU he's rooting for Nebraska. He was a class act, after the Tx-TT game ended, I congradulated him on the win tonight, and wished him luck the rest of the year. Great guy.

As for the game itself.....well when the stadium exploded after Joey tossed a pick six, I knew the game was pretty much out of contention....but then we go and gift wrap two more turnovers on the following drives...lousy first quarter, lousy first 5 minutes of the game.

Our secondary...well what the hell are these guys doing on scholarship?? I knew that they were mediocre, but after this game...mediocre doesnt even describe them. They were getting torched EVERY play! Theres no excuse for getting beat that bad! Enough said.

One bright spot of the night was Roy Helu. I almost punched a lady in the face, because I jumped up cheering after he hurdled that defender! He ripped of 157 yard! If he is not the primary back the rest of the season, Im going on a hunger strike!

  7. This is the class between schools that most will never know. I know that the blood gets pumping a little harder when it is OU/NU. The days of heart wrenching defeats to "Sooner Magic" and victories that were absolutely amazing. The games of the past are still fresh in my mind.

Thanks for the great post and of course I hope you come back win or lose and discuss the game.

    GBR

    I most definitely will!

If we lose, I'll come back on your fine forum and give you the props you deserve. And believe me, in today's college football anything is possible.

And if we win, I definitely will not rub it in. I have a feeling in about a year or two, OU might be on the receiving end of a Husker win.

I hope you Huskers down in Norman are treated right, and with respect. If you are not (which is rare), let me know and I'll personally kick some a_hole Sooner fans butts if that were the case.

Husker fans are some of the best fans in ALL of college football!

I will let you know how things go! Were on our way to Norman right now. :thumbs

And thanks for the great post, I hope all sooner fans are as classy as you.

    GBR!

  8. I really hope Asante was misquoted in that article. If he wasn't.... Man his grammar is worse than 75% of this board.

I'm not so sure about that....

Also, you meant 'if he weren't'....right? ;)

I am concinved that Tuff Tiger is Larry Asante's alter-ego.. <_<

  9. Just bought my tix to the NU vs CU game! This will be my first trip to Lincoln since I was a chap...my bro and I are driving up from Oklahoma. Just wondering if anyone on the board is having some tailgate action. Also, I hear we can go on the field if we get there early enough, can someone confirm or deny?? Furthermore, any gameday suggestions (places to go, things to do, etc.) would be most appreciated.

    GBR!

  10. Well, this weekend a buddy of mine, and myself, are venturing to Norman to watch the game....this will be my first visit to Norman, and have noooo clue what to expect. Most of the OU fans i encounter are pretty football knowledgable and respect Nebraska....should i expect the same in Norman, or should i expect to be harassed ALL day??

  11. The dude's great at LB. No doubt about it.

I don't know if I would say great. He definitely shows flashes of greatness, but he's very inconsistent. Its a shame we only have him at LB for one year because I think if he spent a few more years in the system he could be up there with the Sean wetherspoons and other top LB's.
