Curious why you think he won't. The people criticizing his effort are exaggerating a lot, and hell Nick Gates was drafted. Do you think Stanley Jean Baptiste was a better corner than Lamar? Similar size, similar production (although Lamar has a year and a half of it, SJB only had one), and I'd bet Lamar runs faster than SJB's 4.61. He went in the 2nd round.

It's not that I don't think he'll be drafted - I think he goes in round 6 or 7. I just don't think he's great. He's adequate, but he's not a guy that jumps out on film or a guy you have to game plan around. He and SJB are similar caliber players - though I think SJB was better going the other way after picking the ball off.

Let's be honest, SJB in the second round was a mistake.

There were comments on a TV program that said our Lamar would go higher the Hypsman award winner with the same name.  No idea if that is good news or not.  Really don't pay much attention to the NFL.

Not a chance in hell. 21 will not be drafted in the first 5 rounds.

I agree.  To a degree.  OSU is full of (80%) 4*-5* kids....Any system would work.  They also have a power element to their spread and not all finesse. I'd also love receivers over 5'10.....Some big tall, physical guys who can win the 50/50 balls and take the top off a D. Again, that's additional personnel and execution.....Disappointed Sat we couldn't punch it in form the 2.....Missed shuffle pass (execution) and IMO, lack of faith in the OL.  Although if I read the box sores correct, Mills carried 6 times that game...(coaching)(Mills was 6-18 3.0 YPC)

I am still waiting for the Husker Power part to catch up.  When the O is clicking, it works...Just seems like we don't have that secret sauce when it is not.  No game plan B.  I think that's a combo of personnel, execution, coaching.....

This offense is literally built for less talented teams, to a degree.

Certainly needs a capable QB with decent mobility and better decision making. It's a spread option team, for the most part, built on finding numbers advantages with crafty pre snap motions and efficiently making reads. We run the triple option offense from the shotgun, with some modern flare and downfield passing. Again, it's about reading the defense efficiently.

Really, it's a fun offense to watch when it's humming. We just don't have that McKenzie Milton type guy just yet to put this thing into hyperspeed. We'll hit on a QB eventually - could be Luke or could be Smothers. Smothers has a ton of McKenzie Milton in him from the film I've seen. Let Frost continue to recruit to this scheme and we're going to be fine.

The offense works a little better without the cutesy situational gaffes, but I respect the fact that Frost is still learning too.

UCF fans were happy to see Frost take Chin with him.  Frost needs to get a new DC in the off season and have open competition at the QB spot.  Also, until Frost is willing to adopt to the Big 10 style of play, it will be tough going.

Frost does not need to change his offensive scheme. It can and does work in the Big 10 - look at Ohio State. Hell, look at us in the last half of last season.

Just like any offense, you need to execute.

  5. Everytime I see one of these posts, it makes me think of a s#!tty parent desperately lobbing empty threats at their kid hoping to change their behavior.

We shouldn't end the sellout streak.

We should calm the f#&% down, understand that this is year 2 of a complete rebuild and enjoy watching the process. People that crashed from their offseason sugar high dreams need to embrace reality and show a little patience.

Our unity is our strength. We need everyone in this thing pulling in the same direction, fans included.

The rest of this season is going to be bumpy. Sit back, enjoy the good, don't let the bad f#&% up your week and look forward to brighter days.

  6. We should absolutely not be doubting Frost. This roster is, currently, ugly and it's going to take a complete 4 year roster flip to see where this thing is really heading. I'm of the opinion that this offense is going to be fun to watch in the next couple years. This staff will continue to bring in Wan'Dale Robinson kind of skill players - can't wait to see it develop!

  7. Ah, yes. The ol oversimplification of our issues - one of my favorites.

OP, go back and rewatch the game. Chase Young lived in the backfield, as did the rest of the Buckeye DL. If you can't protect, especially against 3-4 rushers, while everyone else drops back into coverage, then you're going to have a bad time.

It's not the best list, but it's also kind of where we are right now. We're going to have to hit on a few of these lower rated guys in order to start finding ourselves truly in it for the higher rated guys.

Louisville, Mizzou, Pittsburg, UCF, Wake Forest, and Washington State among many other G5 Regional offer is not too bad.  Also, nice to see Pittsburg on him bc Narduzzi knows a little about identifying DB talent.

Again, not an encouraging offer list.

I think he's almost too loyal to bench or fire people

Game 5 of year 2 and we're calling for firings already? Jesus f#&%ing christ, what fantasy world do you live in?

We cant fire our way out of this and doing so would set us back. We need continuity, maturation and a few more recruiting classes. Above all, we need patience from fans and media. This thing was never going to be built overnight. We have glaring depth issues that were very seriously exposed last night.

The Colorado loss IMO is something they could learn from. The OSU loss knocked them down to reality and showed how far off we really are. There wasn't even a measuring stick to compare us to them. They're in an entirely different world than us. They exposed our weaknesses on both the offensive and defensive lines. You close the gap with talent, period. Recruit, recruit, recruit. Frost inherited decent talent and speed at UCF. He didn't and doesn't yet have that here. He needs 2 more classes I think to get this thing moving in the right direction.

    This is exactly right.

Anyone who expected last night's game to be close must've watched the first four games with rose colored glasses. We don't have the depth and we don't have the skill to play with Ohio State. That's just the reality of where we are.

It's going to take time. The sky is not falling.

Let's hope they start with football and not golf or swimming.

I'm glad to hear they appear to be swinging for the fences on the upgrade if it is going to be that much money. The previous upgrade was not very forward thinking IMHO. Now here we are just 13 years later and that facility is badly outdated and not able to be upgraded. Better to spend more money up front and have a facility that will have a longer life and can be upgraded when the time comes.

    Lol, it'll start with football
