  1. I feel for the hundreds of kids that have been left reeling the last few weeks after the coach they committed to left the program. It's so late in the game that if they were committed to the person and not the school they're suddenly SOL. I find Kiffin to be an unsavory character and I hope USC gets sanctioned hard in the near future.

  2. I would be happy with Knapp, Cacti, BRI, Landlord or Enhance.

I'd also like to nominate myself. I have no previous mod experience and little knowledge of what it takes to be a mod, but I do enjoy power and like abusing it. Also, in my long term goal of ruling the interweb this is a good place to start. Any excuse to be on here as often as possible without my wife complaining is also good.

If these reasons are not enough for me to beat out the other nominees, I nominate HuskerJen.

  3. Outcoached "every time"? Really? LOL.

I am no Texas fan by any stretch of the imagination, in fact I root against them adamantly in almost every situation (except when it somehow would benefit Nebraska)...but he is the winningest coach of the decade. Look at the program before he went there, they floundered under two different head coaches for over ten years.

He is a great recruiter, no doubt, and that is a key element of building a successful NCAA program. Is he the most brilliant tactical coach in college football? Probably not. He just keeps on winning games while other more "brilliant" coaches come and go. He's won more games than anyone else in the past ten years--and made Texas football the most financially successful program in the country by a long shot--and that's what he gets paid to do. Did he mishandle the QB situation this season? Probably. However, I think one of the key reasons for that was leaving Colt McCoy in games to pad his numbers and increase his Heisman chances.

Hell, when has Mack Brown even had a season like Pete Carroll had this year? It's not only about bringing in talent.

I hope Bo "sucks" as much as Mack Brown over the next ten years.

I count both Brown and Stoops as having 110 wins this decade. Is that right? Is that the most wins for a coach this decade?

  4. 14th is a great place for NU - especially when you add the Iowa State loss into the mix. Winning that game would have put them in the 10 I think.

Since Iowa state went to a bowl game and won, it doesnt look as bad as it could.

But one more win would have def put us in the top ten

i do respect ISU, and i'm not exactly disagreeing with you, but Minn. would be dead last in the Big XII. Minn. should have lost to South Dakota State (they only won by a field goal).

Minnesota is not a great team but SDSU is a better team than UMass. UMass lost to Kansas State by four, so with my unlogic Minn=KSU. KSU tied for second in the north this year, so Minnesota could possibly have finished that high themselves. When you step back and squint at it real hard that bowl win wasn't too bad a win for ISU. (of course any bowl win is a good bowl win for ISU)

  5. I used to feel like if a team went undefeated in the Big XII then they would be in the BCS Championship, but the Big XII is what 2-5 in the championship game since the BCS was introduced. In those five losses the Big XII looked pretty outmatched, I know that only Nebraska '01 and Oklahoma '04 were blowouts but the other three losses were to SEC teams. If we don't start winning those games more often, how long until the undefeated team from the Big XII is left out and the undefeated ACC or Big East or Pac 10 team gets to play the SEC champ. If people start viewing us the way they view the Big Ten I can't really argue with them.

I just hope Bowl Pelini is the moniker that starts getting more attention then Big Game Bob or Mack the hack.

  6. I was going to say that the ranking of this class didn't matter, but then I thought that if it was ranked top 5 I'd be running around pounding my chest yelling 'look at what I can do'. So, I guess rankings are only important for the people at the top of them. The rest of the teams just continue to take solace that they don't add coaching ability, team need, injuries, players leaving etc. into those rankings. So thirtieth or eightieth we still have a great shot at this class bringing home some Big XII hardware and maybe some BCS hardware.

  7. I've seen quite a few people saying that once GaTch gets the athletes PJ wants then they'll be unstoppable, but just like the option isn't popular in college right now it's not popular in High School either. Who says that the elite players are out there for them to recruit? They don't have a QB commit this year and only took one last year(according to rivals, I don't know what positions their Ath recruits play). I think in the 80's and 90's TO could find players who played in an option based offense in HS which is harder to do now IMO.

  8. I have always thought that Moudy was the forgotten recruit on the OL. I've heard a lot of talk about Qvale, A-Rod, even Moore and Reeves and very little about Mike. Other threads talk about how much different posters want Simek or how they wish we had gotten Demien, both may be good players in their careers but nobody brings up the fact that Moudy although just a three star could be as good as Rodriguez.

I suspect like Qvale last year we may have found a gem in Moudy.

  9. I don't see a problem. You always have underclassmen contributing. If Bo has a small senior class he'll play more juniors and sophomores. If he gets the recruits he wants he won't be worried about playing younger guys. Not to mention every school has reloading years they go through.

  10. I might be the only person who thinks this, but the Rams have taken d-linemen with top fifteen picks two of the last three years and are still picking at the top of the draft. Suh is the player on the board least likely to bust, but trade down get an extra pick of two and fix multiple spots on your team.

But yeah, Suh will affect the game positively for which ever team gets him.
