Anyone else think that a 90% Burkhead is better than a healthy Helu.?
I think they compliment each other nicely.
-
Anyone who thinks this team stands any chance against Texas is fooling themselves. The way the offense is playing, NU will be lucky to score a point.
Maybe we win 3-0 in OT. Just sayin'

who went the wrong way?
Either Lee, or the other ten players. I'd guess Lee.
-
That was ugly. Hope Lee's ok.

checkin the i phone throughout the game. read through ppls posts kinda funny everyone calling our D soft then they all of a sudden sing their praises lol we are playing good D no worries.
That CU TD drive was awful.
Yeah they need to fix that.
I also feel like maybe they're either:
A - Tired
B - Saving their energy for Texas
Either way, no excuses for allowing those kinds of drives with the D we have.
I know it's asking a lot but it would be nice if our offense can give the defense some breaks between Colorado possessions. They've done ok so far in not going three and out.
Altitude gets to you the bigger you are the more mass the worse it is SUH and Crick
No doubt. I mentioned this issue in another thread the other day.
Hopefully we don't have a lot of three and outs so the D can get some rests.

Yeah, They showed a shot of the sidelines earlier and there were two players in the middle a a big yawn.

I thought he was yelling at Trey for showboating after his previous runs and then fumbling, not just that he fumbled. I'm not saying he was right to show up a freshman but I can see why he was frustrated with the kid for trying to be more than one part of eleven. I don't think a benching was warranted in this case, as long as it was addressed after the game. And by 'it' I mean both the showboating and the yelling.

I thought it was that his little brother didn't come play for the Huskers.

Mr. Maud, you're a nice looking guy as guys go, but you really outkicked your coverage with your girl. She's pretty cute.
Looks like a great time was had by all.
Yeah when he said he was bringing his girlfriend I was expecting a 275lb girl off the reservation. Guess you never can tell. She must just like his obvious good taste in sports teams.

They could lose every game this season by double digits and still give us everything we want come November in Boulder. I'm not scared, it's just that they always play us tough regardless of the talent on both sides.

Ughhhh
What an abysmal non conference schedule. It's....embarrassing.
I'm not looking forward to all the crap we're going to get from opposing fans about having south dakota state on our schedule.
I've been griping LOUDLY about it for awhile now, but who, exactly, would be giving us crap? Have you seen other Big 12 non-conference schedules? I'd say at least we don't have a recent track record of playing FCS teams like many of the conference teams.
I do agree...however, have you been paying attention to the type of opposing fanbases we get on here. Logic isn't really one of their strong suits.
They could lose to Eastern West Tennessee Tech for the blind and still give us crap for scheduling South Dakota State.
Having seen the the Huskies and the Vandals play the last few years, I'd say the Jackrabbits might not be the worst team we play in non-con next year. I'd say all around we couldn't get a much easier start to the season. I'm actually not opposed to cupcake schedules, I'm just pointing out that just because they're FCS doesn't mean that they're the worst team we could schedule.

Andy Birkel was a good player for Northern Colorado. Probably not considered successful, but he managed to not get stabbed by the punter while there so maybe it was a success.

Another great idea, but there is NO way anything like this will EVER happen. Too much money involved and too many hurt feelings. It is interesting to see the teams on there though and what people "think" what the top 40 is.
I'm not so sure it won't. Maybe not down to forty teams but there very well be some realignment in the near future. I don't think the NCAA will ever go for the promotion/relegation system ESPN suggested but by 2012 when the reclassification moratorium ends we may see that this type of paring down is what we're left with.

Having half or more of your scholarships used up by the start of the season isn't a great situation either. A lot of kids emerge in their last year of high school. And early commits don't always work out, this time last year Shawn Bodtmann seemed like a good pick up out of Pennsylvania and we know how that ended up. The coaches can get a feel for how kids are doing academically better in october than in june, which is another problem our coaches have had to deal with recently. I know that recruiting seems to be a hesitate and lose business but rushing to get verbals isn't great either.

You Huskers were sponsored by Adidas back then?
Great idea though.
Of course, the reason that Adi Dassler started making shoes was so his company could make Husker gear years down the road. I think his motto was even 'eines Tages kleide ich Cornhuskers'.
No charge for the informative if not fiction retelling of history.

This kid, Trevor, is the son of a guy who is a business associate of mine.
Is that why you've posted this video on every college football message board you could find? Not that I have a problem with grass roots recruiting trying to get someone to look at this kid, but if he's as good as you say shouldn't his play get him enough looks from colleges?
-
Also Green is two years younger I believe.
He is just one year younger
Nope, he is a junior to be . He is a 2011 recruit.
I think he meant younger than Seastrunk, and that is only one year difference not two.

Greg Paulus seems to be looking to play quarterback somewhere next year. Bo should get him in for a workout.
Yes, I'm joking.

Craig Bohl and his NDSU Bison have beat three lower level fbs teams in the last three years. All of them on the road. They also lost to Minnesota by one and Wyoming by two or three in that span. The cyclones better be ready to play that first game or they might get knocked off.

I'm sure these two teams can join other conferences. I don't mind them joining if Missouri ever decks out to the Big 10 and if Iowa State drops off the world (sorry Cy) but honestly, this would put a huge talent advantage on the South division (bigger than there already is). Six teams in the SAME conference from the SAME state? No way in hell anybody would make this is a reality.
If they did, college football would lose some interest for me.
Why drop schools from a conference so that we can add better football schools? The conference needs struggling programs as much as it needs elite ones. If you want a super conference why don't you propose that the top 2 schools from each BCS conference play in a NCAA champions league? I like the fact that schools who are just starting to make a history for themselves want to move up in the world but the only way to maintain balance is to keep the schools you have or to implant a tier system into the conference with promotion/relegation built in so that lower schools could climb the conference ladder. I have no problem expanding but would prefer that we stay out of Texas, maybe Tulsa and Wyoming (I know they suck at everything but rodeo).

I never said I did'nt respect Erstad. I'm just looking at the bigger picture. He had a great season in 95, and a spectacular Orange Bowl too. But that does'nt compair to the carrer acheivments of the other choices. Not taking anything away from him, it's just my opinion that being a great athlete and having one amazing season doesn't stack up to the 3 or 4 year careers that guys like Koch and Larson had.
I don't understand. If we are voting for player who showed the most skill at the position of punter or are we voting for the player with the best Husker career who happened to be a punter, or our favorite punter who played for the Huskers. If it's the first then the number of years played shouldn't matter, I think the stats on Erstad that newearth put up are more telling in that regard.
As far as Erstad's average how many times did we punt from deep in our own end that year as opposed to how many times did he punt from the fifty trying to pin the other team inside the ten yard line? Length of punts doesn't tell everything when you have a dominate offense. Why penalize a player for playing on a very good team.

I think that Zach Weigert should be listed, I guess I didn't realize that Stai got so many more accolades than Weigert did.

Can't wait for Rex to go home next week and play well in front of his family. I may or may not be enough to get turn the upset but it will help.
