He has a redshirt available

Good for him. I think we can all agree DeWitt has been through a lot. While we all want the special teams to be better and the OLBs play to better, DeWitt beating cancer is most important.

Hodge should step in and be part of the ILB rotation next year. Plus, he's good insurance if Henrich has one of those careers where he is always fighting an injury.
I am super high on Henrich, and this is my own speculation, but he could be a guy who is always trying to recover from some type of injury. Henrich hurt his knee his senior year at Burke, injured his shoulder early in Spring camp, and then got injured again in his first game action against Wisconsin.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Hodge be a 4 game redshirt. He will be behind Miller, Honas, Reimer, Henrich and Hannah is a wildcard. As you mentioned, injuries can change things.

He's definitely an interesting athlete. From his film, he will have to completely learn how to tackle.
He will fit right in then

Time will tell. Rational fear, but have to hope that "their guys" they pick can contribute more in the statistical sense. Fingers crossed.
Hope you’re right man. Their track record of JUCOs in two years doesn’t lead me to optimism.

Even if the high school kid takes potentially to get 3 years to develop and the juco can be ready in 1-2 years?
Obviously you want the high school route, but staring down the barrel of another no bowl year we need potentially more immediate help. If that immediate help can be here for more than 2 years then all the better right?
That’s all good in theory. And I see you’re point. But what makes you think he can provide immediate help? His offer list suggests otherwise. This looks like Alex Davis all over again.

That's a really big deal. Especially if he's still a pretty raw athlete.
I’d rather take a 5 for 4 high school recruit with power 5 offers than reach on a JUCO with 4 years to play 3.

Looks like he falls into the, get a strong athlete and develop the skills category.
That’s one way to put it. I put it in the reach category. Hope I’m wrong.

It's questionable at best. Our competition was Liberty on this one.
The coaching staff needs to recruit better.
Though to argue. No reason to accept his commitment right now. We could have waited on bigger fish IMO.

I’m surprised after the WR class they pulled last year that they would be looking to bring in a Juco.

Coach Verdu coaching a grad transfer Milton, wearing N, would be nice to evaluate.
I'd rather Milton be here as a grad assistant than a grad transfer.

Coming off the visit to Arizona and looking to make a decision sooner rather than later...very nice

They are taking 4 LBs and already have 3 committed. They lead for Keyshawn Greene (former FSU commit) and are in the race for Justin Flowe (5* LB). They will take both if they can but if Flowe goes to Clemson like some believe, they will take Greene and call it good.
Flowe isn’t going to Miami

Put McCaffrey in as Mills' backup if Robinson can't play Friday. I'd give him a couple plays at RB no matter what.
You’re joking right?

Haven't looked yet to see if he created any yards by being out of position but I did see him shoot gaps twice like a 5th year senior..
I can live with the first part. That will improve as he gets more reps. I agree wholeheartedly with the 2nd part of your statement

Next year Luke Reimer is going to make it really difficult for Ruud to keep him off the field.

This could be a Miami/Nebraska battle here. He has been to 4 of Miami's home games this year but they are slow playing him right now because they have guys higher on their board.
Ran a laser 4.51 at a camp this summer.
Quick. Someone show him Miami’s score from last night.

Doesn’t matter who is back there if you can’t block.
also, Woodyard was given the chance last year. I assume the fact that you forgot that shows how unimpressive he was.

JUCO ILB Jamoi Hodge [TCU - Signed LOI]

Not sure I can put a JUCO with his offer list on the same level as a national recruit like Henrich.
Honas was much more coveted than Hodge and look how long it took him to adjust.
