I mean, I see your point being we still have culture problem. On the flip side, maybe a change of scenery is all he needs. He has an insane amount of upside.
Nothing to do with culture. What I am saying is if he doesn't love football anymore it would be a waste of a scholly. If they feel he is committed then I definitely agree he has to upside.

I was reading OSU fans speculating he doesn't really love football and dedication was his problem. Seems like he is worth a shot.
He is only worth the shot if the first part that is bolded is false.

Unless something has changed, he had indicated that he wanted to take 3-4 more official visits (April) then decide before school is out.
So what you’re saying is he should start working on the twitter edit now?

Lamar Jackson is 100% a lock to be drafted this year at some point somewhere. Anyone else being picked up will be a surprise. Khalil Davis, Darrion Daniels, and Mo Barry will all get looks and might get lucky going in round 6 or 7
Way too slow. Love the guy, but not nearly athletic enough to be drafted.

Not a surprise, but beneficial nonetheless.

Do we think Frost will redshirt almost the entire 20 class the way he did the 19 class? With a few outliers like Wan’Dale? Is that the standard moving forward is most guys will redshirt so in 4-5 years we are playing talented kids who have been in the program for 5 years on the field?
I think injuries have impacted a lot of it. More will play this year assuming they are healthy.

Lot of pages in this one brother.
I guess I’m just an echo.
I have a feeling this thing is going 40+. Especially if more changes come.

Names floated as his replacement are Helfrich and Mickey Joseph.
Did you see this on page 9 of this thread?

Is that Gunnerson at the end with Corcoran? He doesn't look much smaller that's an awesome DE/OLB frame!
Yes it is

Yikes, losing three assistants in one off season would be the opposite of why this thread was created.
True. But it doesn't mean that it won't make the team better going forward.

No word from a few heavy hitters still (Epenesa, Wirfs) but the West looks a lot easier next year. We're absolutely on the outside looking in, but Minny has a lot of questions on defense, Wisky loses a lot of talent, and Iowa is pretty gutted if the expected guys leave.
Both are projected 1st round picks. They would be foolish to come back. Surprised they haven't announced yet.

Our most experienced players anchored our defensive line -- two Pelini recruits and a heralded Oklahoma State transfer for Frost.
They kinda sucked. I don't remember a Husker team getting so little pressure on the quarterback. That included average quarterbacks on unremarkable teams.
Experience can be swell, but great talent shines immediately, and cohesiveness can come quickly.
Give me Khalil Davis and Darrion Daniels any day. We can win with DL like them. We just didn't surround them with playmaking LBs.

Again, it sort of makes sense but it doesn't seem to matter. If all 5 of Iowa's linemen 'win' their blocks and they still can't run the ball why does it matter if they are ranked high? How does PFF know what blocks the linemen are supposed to be making?
Does anybody know what our running backs were graded out as? Has to be super high to make up for how bad the line graded out, right? Do they also rank scheme? Because if our line is so bad and we are still racking up tons of yardage I can't wait until we have a line ranked even in the 50s.
You're definitely correct that PFF is subjective in nature. However, it doesn't matter what formula/grading scale/eye ball test you use to know that our Oline was below average this year.
Also, seeing as that we only had one lineman received All Big honors, honorable mention at that, validates that PFF probably isn't too far off.

So if 80% of the roster are "Frost players", and the other 20% have been under his coaching for 3 years, then we shouldn't have to hear anything about "culture" and "not buying in" anymore?
Agree 100%. I sure hope that isn't brought up in 2020.
