Yep. The underlying cause BS does nothing to diminish Trev effing the University and fanbase. Time won’t heal this. I am not opposed to removing his NIL from everything related to Nebraska. At the very least they should change his name on the stadium to an Aggie maroon color. Pound sand Trev.
It sounds harsh, but imagine if Frost got the team going and then left for a similar position. There wouldn’t be any warm and fuzzies at all!

It is an interesting argument and one that has been going on since "marketing" became a thing and really one that has been going on since about the 1950's
Does marketing (however you want to define that) influence us or do WE influence the "marketing". Sociologists that study Pop Culture believe that we don't really decide what is popular but instead media (all forms) picks for us.
Why would the Beatles have been more popular than any other similar band of the time?
So I think @funhusker has a good point. I am sure you (and I, because of our jobs) see the TikTok influelnce on kids every single day.
With that said, it can too far, like heavy metal music making kids do bad things or violent games making people violent. Research doesn't really show that is a reason.
I understand your point about rock and roll and violent video games.
But Just the thought experiment of having students do a “TikTok challenge” of picking up the most trash in a day is interesting. You know if it was allowed to spread, our halls would be spotless. The danger with a foreign group controlling the message is intentionally making the bad things popular because they know they are bad things. And they know people will do it if it makes them look cool online.
And mostly, I’m just really ficking tired of the job title “influencer”….fick you and your mooching lifestyle. Have some respect and go hold a cup on the corner or “influence” some long haul truckers at your local truck stop!

Yes because having Faux, Musk, Zuckerberg, Cambridge analytica, Sinclair Broadcasting and Lee Enterprises force certain content down kids and society's throats is so much worse. Got forbid anyone think critically and hear different viewpoints than the one the oligarchs want us to hear, read, see
I think those outlets should also be broken up and better regulated. They all play a primary role in making our politics and government the s#!tshow it is. They are making Americans dumber, not better informed. They latch on to internet behaviors of users and force feed them similar content ROBBING the users of hearing legitimate opposing viewpoints.
American companies are protected by the 1st amendment and we need to learn to deal with it much better than we have. Why make matters worse, along with intelligence concerns, to bow down to the Chinese communist party?

I am sure China has really learned a lot from all the crockpot videos I have watched on TikToK
"Ahhhhh, TeacherSan very very lonely, but still cook very big meal in crockpot"
I think the bigger issue is the millions of Americans that just open up their digital information and lives to the Chinese govt. But god forbid those people get a vaccination because Bill Gates is going to track their blood sugar levels!
There is also people that claim the Chinese are intentionally targeting American kids with certain content to fuel the stupid stuff we see everyday in school.

Then why hasn't Trev just provided a statement??
maybe he still isn't sure. Pretty easy for higher ups to call his bluff if TA makes a statement that he isn't leaving.

Man...I see you guys need a Japanese teacher? That spot is not getting filled, is it? We have Chinese and when a teacher leaves it is so hard to fill.
And some teacher assistant openings? I could work with you in your shop!
Ha! A teacher assistant in my shop!?! You're funny!

If you took the social construct of race out of it l, would the data just show that economic status has the most influence?
It does. It's literally the same graph that would be used by the left to promote sex-ed and proactive programs in low income areas that happen to be primarily populated by minorities. The main difference is the point that is trying to be made...if he has one...
What's funny is the people posting this are generally the same folks saying to quit making things about race!

I have an idea: mandatory abortions until marriages can be arranged for anyone with an annual income below $40,000!

When the history is written about this current generation of evangelical voters, what will it say? Being pro-life and supporting a pro-life candidate is understandable. But being pro-life and supporting a convicted rapist, an insurrectionist, a thief of govt documents, convicted fraudster and a narcistic prided filled opportunist is another.
If trump wins, we will see in the 2nd term the real cost of evangelical support. I suspect history will not be kind.

I have always said that when new neighborhoods go up, that in the middle should be the retail space. grocery stores, gas stations, a few places to eat and drink. Then build out from that. So you can essentially stay in your area because all the stuff is there.
"Want to grab a drink? We can just walk two blocks!"
Have a beer in your driveway if you hang out with neighbors. Bars are for co-workers to go hide before going home to their wives...If she only has to walk two blocks, it kinda takes the point out of it

I think it is just the fear of his health. When was the last time we had a President die in office? I would imagine it is always a concern especially when they are older.
If an unbiased dr did the physical, I’d be shocked if Biden was in worse health than Trump.
Hopefully they’re both retired by 2028…

You simply reminded me to be consistent. I was critical of Speaker Pelosi after the Capitol Police failures on J6. The Speaker has over site of the CP. Steve Nikoui was out of line and should have been removed from the gallery. No need to arrest and handcuff a Gold Star father. I'd call Johnson's office if I thought they would answer the phone. Just about every congressman lets their DC phone go to voice mail.
You’d be consistently incorrect.
SOTH has as much control of the CP as they do the TSA or the Coast Guard.

Steve Nikoui was arrested in the House Chamber petitioning the Government for a redress of grievances. Shameful.
Mike Johnson better be ready to answer some questions....We've been told that the Speaker is in charge of Capital Police.

The reality is that most Americans support some policies on both sides if moderated in the middle. Problem is both parties are pulling us apart and trying to pull everything to their extreme. Compromise and moderation is what we need. That isn't happening any time soon with the people in charge.
Edit: I should add Fear mongering has added to the issue as well.
This is pretty accurate. But at least the Dem establishment is doing a better job of holding on from the extremes in their party. I will definitely err on the side of dems just for stability's sake in the next several cycles at least.

We're discussing hypothetical policies that could save these lawless leftist hellscapes.
I think Trump said it best: this current administration is simply orchestrating a conspiracy to overthrow the United States of America.
The lawlessness here is just a part of that!
I think they could strap bombs on shoplifters and have them run into the mobs crossing the border!

Yeah my guess is they got so much blowback on the surge pricing, now they have to spin it. Everybody knows they aren’t spending that much cabbage on new fancy menu boards just to offer discounts.
Maybe? But it's also much better to sell things at much lower margins that just eating the cost all together. Remember, their patties are never frozen Gotta move that inventory! Plus the possibility of getting new customers in the door.
No dog in the fight, just throwing out an idea...

Keep up! He’s trying to show how everyone thought Romney was awful by (checks notes) showing quotes of people supporting Romney???
He stirs the pot and looks to frustrate people. That’s his thing. Took me a while to just ignore it, but my experience here since has been so much better.
