Are you drunk? Serious question because you are rambling on about nothing relevant.

Keep up!  He’s trying to show how everyone thought Romney was awful by (checks notes) showing quotes of people supporting Romney???

He stirs the pot and looks to frustrate people.  That’s his thing.  Took me a while to just ignore it, but my experience here since has been so much better.

Not sure what your point is here. I would absolutely love to have a better choice than Trump or Biden. Romney, McCain, Cheney….any of those would do just fine.

The good thing about Trump is, he makes anyone other than him the super easy choice. I can’t think of one person living or dead or imaginary that I would pick Trump over. Not one.

He doesn’t realize that this board was actually about 50/50 for the 2008 and 2012 elections.  It might have actually leaned towards Romney…

The current GOP is just that bad.

This is a pretty good summary. Trump won because he tapped into white conspiratorial anger.

Nobody wants to admit this because it's a confession that these people are dangerous. So we tip toe around it by coming up with alternatives to rationalize why Trump won, whether it was a savvy campaign (it wasnt) that Trump was a good candidate (he isn't) or that Hillary was a worse candidate (partially true).

The reality is more banal. Trump simply harnessed the anger that has been boiling under white grievance. Now, Republicans throw gasoline and fuel this anger to serve their political goals. It's really that simple. A voter base that is now completely disconnected from reality, ready to be angry at whatever is thrown at them.

It would explain why rational Republicans interested in governing and working towards solving problems are called RINOs…

We can’t let the anger die!!!

Because as bad as Biden is at speaking and remembering things?  Trump is just as bad if not worse and totally makes s#!t up...lies....can't remember who his wife is....or who he raped.

And he hasn't gotten better or worse.  He's the same jacka$$ these people voted for in 2016.

I am close to saying out loud what needs to happen to Trump...

Trump has reached mythical levels to these people.  Even if he died, the s#!tshow will go on for a while.

Until social media makes an attempt at filtering misinformation and hate speech this is our new normal, I think.

People think they know more than the next because someone somewhere in the world told them they did.  And it makes them feel good.

And....the big question is.....With all the crap that's going on with NIL, Transfer portal, recruiting...etc, why did they think these things were so important?  Who gives a rip if a school decorates the hotel room?

Damn.  They even took our balloons away from inside too!

What does any of this have to do with Democrats? This is technology and AI, not politics.

It’s an easy way to make one side seem just as pathetic so it doesn’t feel so awful to vote for idiots…

    That’s my guess, anyway.

what a shocker, a mediocre personality in the local sports media coming out with a horrendous take.  I think Josh spent his monday watching jj reddick go scorched earth for clicks and said "im gonna do the same tomorrow, dammit"

Big ten and other conferences were already at a disadvantage against the SEC in playing more conf games and not loading up on cupcakes to the same level SEC did.  Unless the playoffs expands to 32 (which I do not want, just so we're clear) it makes zero sense to play a major program early when others do not.  Now, if the conferences wanted to some kind of SEC-Bigten challenge where every team has to play a school from the other conf then I can get behind that.  But to selectively sign up for a battle early on when you're going to have 4-6, maybe even more battles in conf play with the super conferences is just dumb

I've started listening to mostly AM590 now.  1620 is not what it was...

Why are folks upset with that answer?  I have cash in my house.  I don’t know for sure if it came from a Christmas card or December's paycheck. I know I didn’t steal it.   Are folks really this desperate to make this messy?

    Embarrassing…

The chart should show the ratio of income % to tax % over time. The top 1% are paying a bigger % of taxes now, but it's not showing what % they earned before. I looked up a single data point, 1980, and the top 1% earned 10% of income then, so the ratio was 19%/10% = 1.9. Now it's 45.8%/26.3% = 1.7.  I.E. things have become more favorable for the top 1% over time.

What percentage of the 99% don't pay taxes because they don't make the income threshold?  Isn't it significant number?

I wonder what the math would be between the top 1% and people who actually make enough to have a tax bill.

This website says like 40%! https://www.taxpolicycenter.org/taxvox/tpc-number-those-who-dont-pay-federal-income-tax-drops-pre-pandemic-levels

damn....Desantis must be getting close to dropping out.   he admits right wing media won't hold the Trump accountable

And so last summer, Fox News and the rest of the conservative media gave up on DeSantis and resumed promoting Trump. The reason is exactly as DeSantis said: They didn’t want to alienate their audience and lose market share by telling the audience anything bad about its hero.

And then he ends up endorsing Trump.  Who would have ever thought this guy would end up being a joke?

Well, a lot of people watching him kiss Trump’s a$$ from day one, actually.

The irony is that a voting block insists on identifying as “alpha males” and they are the biggest “cuks” (I have no idea how it’s spelled…) of them all!

I generally stay away from, and detest the overuse of, Nazi comparisons...but that guy definitely would have been wearing an SS uniform 75 years ago

I wasn’t necessarily comparing to Nazis, but I agree.  He, and others in Trumps orbit, really seem to get their rocks off on these ideas.  Instead of hating the idea but feeling it’s necessary, they seem to look forward to it.
