Yeah...they are not getting min wage.  They are getting exactly enough to get them to work.

I am all for easy immigration but I want them to come here AND get treated well.  Not like some posters who want them to come here and take "those jobs" so that they can have more oranges.

Then those companies are breaking federal law.  Minimum wage laws also applies to undocumented workers.  But they also know they can't ask for more because there is nowhere else to go for a job.

People have been and keep fighting for wage increases and now some of you are like "Oh...well if THOSE people are not here to work THOSE jobs...what is going to happen?"

What is going to happen?  Those f#&%ing jobs are going to have to pay more money to get people to work those jobs and the cost of all that stuff is going to skyrocket...just like everything has.

You can't pretend to care about one and not care about the other.  Unless you just really don't care at all.

There physically are not enough capable workers for those jobs.  Undocumented workers still make minimum wage, unless they are getting paid in cash which would be pretty difficult for big business to conduct that way.

So Haley is now 'Birdbrain' in Trump's childish vernacular.   The Dictator is now threatening her donors - showing his deep insecurity once again.   He was offended that Haley hasn't already bent down to kiss his ring.

God, help our country!  This child cannot be given a second term.

I hope all of "Birdbrains" supporters heard this and understand that Trump is asking them to vote for Biden.  But I doubt it...

Walmart did close up and sort of barricade up one of the nights.  I know because I went there to buy a huge handle of cheap vodka and they were closing blocking the doors.

So a lot of people must have been worried.  I just remember being worried that I would have to go to a different store to get my vodka.  Luckily, I was able to get it!

Moral of the story:  Always have booze at home.

Wait...why did he think that just your house would be targeted and burnt down?  Or did he just mean the houses in Elkhorn.

He thought all the "white" neighborhoods were going to be destroyed.  I don't think he realized that that's pretty much everywhere in Omaha.

Oh my god, when state wrestling moved to Omaha...this is all us coaches here in Omaha heard from our hill-William coaching friends in central and western Nebraska.

"I am not going there, sorry, but THE CRIME!"

With that said, I have had to to go conferences for teaching and matches for wrestling out in central and sort of western NE and I did not want to go there at all...mostly because of the drive.

My brother was legitimately worried during the BLM protests that "those people" were going to come to my neighborhood out by Elkhorn and burn my house down.  It's sad...

You seem to sum up a lot of the HuskerBoard sentiment.

You may say I'm a dreamer, but it would be interesting if more people voted for what they far prefer, and found out they were in a majority that had been giving a minority way too much power.

The best thing NE Dems could do, is vote in Rep primaries.  Most rural folks are going to coalesce around the "R" in a general election, might as well dope them into voting for a more liberal candidate that isn't a dips#!t.  It would also bring actual Republicans back to rationality.

Having watched you post for years, it would appear your values are closer to Democrats than Republicans, regardless of Trump.

So how does that shake out in Nebraska elections? Charlie Herbster was every bit as nuts as Trump, but got major endorsements and made it a race. In any other scenario, Jim Pillen plays to the MAGA crowd, but did he feel like the "reasonable" candidate just because he was the best chance for avoiding Herbster? Did you favor a guy like Lindstrom, and does Lindstrom's showing suggest the more urban Republicans still have no chance in a MAGA state?

I voted for Lindstrom in the primary but Blood in GE.  I would by far prefer Dem policies, but I know its not gonna happen here.  Might as well do my part to make sure the Rep candidate isn't a total clown.

Yes, rural Nebraska republicans are very MAGA.  I don't even go out when I go back to my parents because it's like people there make a point to talk about how bad Omaha is and how shouldn't live close to that "hell hole".

Maybe Mr Johnson wouldn’t feel like everyone hates him if he were to stop supporting a guy who openly hates half of America and cheering for its destruction? :dunno

    f#&% no...Poland.

So we get the blessing of hating the germans and the commies!  Which I why I can't wait to see those commies piss off Poland enough so that Poland finally gets their revenge.

nazi soldiers did kill what would have been a great uncle of mine, in front of my grandmother who was just a girl...then they took her to a work camp for like a year.

Thanks.  That makes more sense why you hate them so much.  Not that anyone should sympathize with them right now, but you always seem like it’s personal.  It is.

What a pathetic country.  So good that technology is making it easy to see how lame those commies have become.

I have to ask: I know you’ve said your first generation in the US.  Are your parents from Russia?

Most likely hired by NBC for Jimmy Fallon.

Yeah?  It would be pretty odd if Fallon and Greenday hopped on a train and there was a group of men that happened to be security guards and they volunteered to help keep the crowds back.  Right?

Well the Lincoln Project douches aren't running for President, so they can say whatever they want and that makes them more entertaining. I've never quite understood their end game, but they were douches before they broke with the Republican Party. They're also pretty sharp insiders, and they are certainly better at messaging than the Democrats.

I also don't think Nikki and the Lincoln Project guys are close on messaging at all, regardless of personality.

Again, given everything you post on here — wanting the GOP to get out of the Trump clown car and focus on core conservative policy  — I would think you'd find kindred spirits in the Lincoln Project guys and Liz Cheney. Yet it's just the opposite.

No matter how much some deny it.  In the end, they are more loyal to the party than ideology.

Is  actual gold really ever thought of as a liquid?  I know you melt it to form it, but the phrase "solid gold" doesn't really give my liquid vibes.

And their first album was what, 30 years ago???

Also, those people did not really look all that into it!

Their first album is SOOOOO GOOD

I thought that too.  The stiffs in the suits just looked pissed.  Then it dawned on me, I'm sure they were a security detail.

for Heaven's sake, look at the actual released video's of what you call and insurrection on J6... The only severe crime done on that day was by a DC police officer and the fbi plants. It's a travesty that so many people are unjustly being criminalized. So tired of both sides that spout opinions while ignoring facts of which, the DC J6 event was then and is still far less costly to actual vandalism then any one of the multitudes of protests that occurred for real crimes. Yet we constantly here from both sides how terrorized our Politian's were. It takes less than 15 mins of research to see just how peaceful the J6 protest was. (the security was literally escorting people around showing them the building, scary right?)

Please do this country a favor and put it away. Politian's are liars regardless of what side they're on. They speak, they lie!! Most of the national media too. Fox = liars, MSNBC = liars, CNN/ABC Nightly/CBS Corespondence/etc etc... - all liars, all the time. Push an agenda and lie lie lie. Journalism died when journalist's were not permitted to provide source links in their articles. (source links that can be fact checked) Now I've been suckered into spotting off.. hate that but J6 pisses me off. Below is the costliest civil disorders. Notice J6 isn't listed. Hmmm.... wonder why? Because the media & politian's are liars!!! Rant Over!!

Most true patriots felt very upset that a group of people were breaking windows and scaling the walls of the US Capitol Building trying to enter and ransack Congressional offices.  This wasn’t a group of people looting a WalMart.  FFS man!

Honestly, I thought this would happen several years ago.  I'm still waiting.  My confidence in this happening is going down.

Thankfully it didn't.  But Trump was also already campaigning/denying since the last election night.  There was still hope that he'd return.  2024 "should" slam that door on MAGA and I'm a bit nervous that some folks are going to get desperate.  We already hand a Jan 6, it's not crazy to be worried if we "only" have another one of those.

I hope and suspect the differences between the U.S. and Germany are significant, but the current comparison is to Germany in the early 1930s, so the level of violence and autocracy are still TBD.

I think the true test will be if/when Biden beats Trump in 2024.  The MAGA followers will have to realize that most Americans don't agree with them.  And what makes it worse is a person like Trump telling them otherwise and the how the system is rigged keeping "real Americans" from what they all really want.
