The defense is definitely Top 10 team material... the Offense is almost Div II material... average those 2 and you have the 2009 Huskers.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that I was astounded at the number of elderly people that come out for the game. I would definitely say they are the majority. Memorial Stadium might get nice and full, but its hardly intimidating, the only thing the other team has to worry about is getting a walker or pair of dentures thrown at them.

How is Green not it? He might not be today, but the kid I think has the makings of a great QB at NU. Where else are we going to find a QB that isn't Lee or Green today anyway?

As people have said already... the core problem here is the O-Line... can't block to save their lives, probably one of the most penalized I have seen ever, and they just destroy the confidence of the QB, no matter who is in. Our receivers are HORRIBLE. None of them are playmakers, none of them are speedsters, and worst of all none of them can really catch! Cmon I bet even Tim Jesus Tebow would struggle with our receivers and O-line. I still think we should start Green, but its not really going to make a huge difference right now.

Yesterday was my first time not sitting in the student section and WOW. I do not see where we get the "best fans in college football" from. The majority of the people in Memorial are cranky old people who can barely hobble up the steps to their seats. Its ridiculous! Even on 3rd downs for Tech the North endzone area was quiet as a mouse... I can't tell you how many times I got yelled at to sit down. Disgusting. Memorial is not a fun place to watch a game. All the cranky people complaining and thinking they should be running the game. "Fire him!" "Get him out of there" Jesus people.

Okay on Saturday its at home and supposed to be a great day weather-wise. What if he has a crappy game then?

Completely agree. My point was that if Lee does not step up and perform on Saturday AT HOME, there really isn't any excuse left. I would think if he doesn't show up to play a complete football game on Saturday it would be time to seriously look at giving someone else a shot. Also... give Helu the rock more! We have one of the best backs in the conference and he was so underused against Miz last week. I think it would take alot of pressure off Lee.

I've been thinking about this. Zac Lee has been struggling against BCS competition. So far the excuses for his piss poor performances against Mizzou and VTech have been hostile away environment, monsoon, tough pass defenses. On Texas Tech gameday, Lee will have the home crowd behind him, be facing a very average pass defense, and hopefully there will be no precipitation. TT is the first game we get to truly see if Lee just has the away game jitters or if he really can't put a good passing game together. I like Lee I think he's a really good decision maker and is good at protecting the ball, but I just haven't seen anything from him that proves he is going to turn our pass offense into a potent one. For the record I don't blame the ridiculous passing numbers from the Mizzou game on Lee, and I admired the fact that he stuck with it in those conditions, but I am going to be really anxious about us being able to keep up with TT's offense. Edit: Forgot to add bad play calling. We should be questioning Watson too if we have another bad display on Sat.

Now if someone from the Missouri team gets H1N1 we will know who spit in their face.

I think the landscape of College Football has completely changed. It is impossible for any team to be that dominant now. Granted, there are some teams that are perrenial contenders, but they will never dominate like the Huskers did.

The score is 41-0, we aren't exactly getting killed by penalties. 6 penalties for 55 yards already... these need to be cleaned up. Look how bad penalties hurt us in the VT game. Once we start conference play if we are still having this amount of penalties we are gonna be hurting.

Whats with all these penalties... its crazy we are still having these sorts of problems. How many games have penalties absolutely killed us?

Things Nebraska needed to do: 1. Slow down VT special teams. 2. Stop the run. Huge breakdowns on both parts already.

My sneaking suspicion Nebraska was gonna get blown out is materializing.
