Rattler in Tier 4 and Thompson in Tier 14? Remind me which QB led the Big 12 in TD passes last year? (Hint: Rattler had less than half as many as Thompson.)

That's... a pretty damn big 'if'.

Not saying Casey and Ratter aren’t comparable, but rattler only played 5 games and some change. So Casey should have about twice as many.

  2. Big time get. My outlook was pretty bleak when Rogers and Riley left. Wasn’t sure of how we would hold up for an entire B1G schedule. I think we came out on the better end after adding the 2 DTs and Mathis. If OL can improve, even marginally and we can not suck in special teams we can win some games this year. Now let’s get Marcus Washington and then we can get to work.

And a slew of Husker fans who wanted him to get one as well..

Kid is an athlete, but it is not like he is going to another D1 school or even Ndsu/SDSU. So every school in the country missed on him.

At his size if he is stiff in the hips, or not long, it would be hard to project where he would play at the next level.

  4. From the sounds of it he just got the grades that he needed to be eligible.  Mizzou has offered and other schools are picking up interest in him. I think with the transfer portal it has to hurt JUCO recruits who are usually coveted as plug in play guys, who are now passed on by nabbing a player from the portal who has P5 experience. This offer doesnt carry the swagger of an Alabama Transfer, but it could serve its purpose to add another solid DL so we can hold up in the trenches this year.

Saw Betts passed out a in wheelchair on his recruiting visit, wasted, in the hotel lobby with dudes pushing him into an elevator. Go back and check my post in his recruiting forum.
    as the wind blows…

That isn't that big of a deal really.  We would take recruits out all the time and get them hammered and show them what a weekend in college is like.  Then drop them off back at their hotels and laugh at them when they came up and met with the coaches the next morning. Our signing rate was top notch when it came to hosting recruits. Doesn't mean those kids were bad kids or didn't love football.

Is that really that amazing of a stat?  There are 5  P5 conferences.  We had 5 out of 20 of the top coaching staffs.  If they are all divided evenly, that would mean each conference would have 4 on the list.

Notre Dame included?  Would figure the land of 2 million dollar coordinators (SEC) would represent close to 8.  So that would leave 11 spots for 4 conferences. 5 is pretty good.

lol, i thought about the bolded happening in real life and man that would be a horrendous look by the university and equally comical thinking about how that would play out.

I guess by bash I meant display publicly your disapproval.  I feel like when Wan'dale and Luke left there was some animosity between the people in the program and the players that left that leaked out.  Not so much with this transfer.

Enjoyed the podcast.  Really surprised that the Nebraska Administration would stop following AM on social media.  Why would our Administration unfollow an act like this guy.  Just fascinating.

That is what happens when you break up. Nothing personal. Just gotta move on and dedicate your time and energy to those around you. They could have went out and bashed him on social media, but they didn’t have any reason too. Mutual break up. Beat of luck to both parties.

If he leaves now, there's no good coaches available.  Not sure if they'd go a 1 year interim coach or get a coach that's in a booth somewhere.

It is Michigan.  The coaches would become available for that job.

I did not watch the Bama vs Ga game tonight but a quick look at the stats suggests the best rushing team with strong defense and STs prevailed.  Both teams seemed to want to rely on the forward pass but found scoring in the opponents’ end of the field was tough.  Lots of FGs and few TDs.

But GA had the better run game easily, stats indicate.  And best run defense.

I didn’t see the first Bama-Ga game in which Bama seemed to score at will but this was predictable so two SEC teams get the preferred playoff and title game spots.  I am gonna speculate that Bama got away with holding and other officiating help to pull off such an anomalous win.

Run the ball and stop the run. Avoid turnovers (esp ugly interceptions) and control field position and time of possession.  Physical domination via tough, hard nosed, 4 qtrs play.  Live by the pass, die by it.

Bama did have the time of possession edge and I might guess Ga coaches would have run the ball more in hindsight.    Total yardage was a slight edge to Bama but rush yards are more valuable than pass so GA actually had the better offensive and defensive games.  Both teams kicking appear to have offset basically. I didn’t look punting and ave starting field position.  Bama’s FG kicker was the player of the game, not their heisman winner QB, it would appear.

I’ll be interested in anyone who watched the game to see how close my stat line summary described how the game went.

GA has one dam good defense - a defense aided by offense and STs strategies that work as a three legged stool.

Neither team was too committed to running the ball and had trouble running it. A couple big plays here and there. Defenses were both stout up front.

Wow, that says quite a bit, having your own kid leave your program. He created quite a toxic program at ASU as well; I was surprised to see him get another job, to be honest.

Graham is a tool. Not a surprise his son would leave.

    Any track times?

Orlando Sentinel said he ran a 22.3 200m  dash pre Covid shutdown in 2020.  Get in that low 22 high 21 and you have elite football speed.  Also states that he runs a 4.4 40.  So he is about as fast as most of us here on the message board.  I wonder if he can bench 300?

    What does "re-offered" mean?

I think it is when the program you were offered by has a coaching transition sometimes they will re-offer a guy to let them know they are still interested.  In this case I bet since he is a Louisiana recruit, and Mickey will probably recruit that area,  Mickey touched base and let him know we are still recruiting him.
