Grand slam ! Yikes. As mentioned, we are just finding a way to lose games

Walk loads them up. Pitching change. Bases loaded, 1 out. A few close pitches didn’t go KPs way. Sanders on in huge situation

-
Here we go. Back to back singles after KP was ahead of both 0-2. Tying run on 2nd

-
Need 3 outst. KP onto to try to close this out

Daiss gets out of 8th without any more damage, but a few loud outs. 3-2 in bottom of 8

-
A bomb to left pulls CU within a run
-
Daiss immediately allowed a single to load them… then a k, followed by highlight defense from Columbus at first…. then a dribbler to get out of bases loaded , no out situation! Huge ! 3-1 good guys

-
New pitcher on for the Huskers in a pretty high leverage situation. Daiss in to pitch.

-
Jays with something going in 7th. First and second with no outs.
-
Caron with an rbi double, followed by a sac fly…. 3-1 Huskers

Timmerman on for Huskers and gets out of 6th. Still 1-1

Just like that, we are knotted at 1-1, with a 2 out shot over the right field fence from Caron

CU on the board with a wind aided HR.
1-0- 1

Clark puts in two good innings, 4 k, 0 runs. By design, Freolich comes in . Retires the side. 0-0 headed to bottom of 3

Good first inning for Clark. Lead off walk , but then gets 2 k and fly ball

I meant “must win” in terms of our own mindset and momentum. This team needs to get some momentum back and it could start tonight. Earlier, this group was finding ways to win, whereas , currently, they seem to be finding ways to lose. You are correct, CU will throw one of their top guys and we will use about 6 different pitchers.

I may be in the minority here, but my gut feels like tonight feels like a must win game. We don’t want to head into a weekend series vs Maryland losing 4 of last 5, including the second time to Creighton.

Have a day MM! Just watch the doctor order. An absolute gem against the best offensive team in the conference, whom we could not seem to get out yesterday. Career high and strikeouts, and they shut out after seven.

They have no bats. Without sticks to drive in runs the results will continue. Opposing staffs have figured out that Nebraska can't hit off speed pitching. It's a sad display for a team that has shown they can pitch and sadly, it appears the sticks are getting worse not better. I've said it for 3 weeks, Nebraska, if they don't figure out how to hit the ball won't finish in the top 3 of the conference race. Illinois, Michigan, Purdue, are more consistent. Heck even Iowa and Michigan State right now are playing even with Nebraska.
Bolt is frustrated. That umpire squeezed the Huskers. 3x's during the game last night the Rutgers coach was out laughing and joking with him. Still, excuses are nothing buy a form of crying. Maybe the boys just got the wake up call they needed. Win the darn series and come home or put your heads in the sand and get blown out like the Karen's of the world. Put Up or STFU is the message I'd send if I was Bolt. I damn sure would pu&&yfoot with the team!! Hit the Stinking Ball!!!
I felt the ump squeezed us a bit. I watch Big 10+, but listen to Husker radio for call. Sears should have had a k and next pitch was weak single ( not sure if it was inning when they scored), I thought Borist got rough calls also. Again, no excuses, just observing. We have benefited from squeezing the other way throughout the year. A little surprised that he didn’t stick with Sears at least through 7. Yes, he gave up 2 runs on two solid hits, but hit that proceed rbi was a weak, jam shot that bled into left field. Sears has shown that he doesn’t get extremely rattled a pitch count was non issue. Then Worthley and Borist could have had 8-9. Easy to second guess. All looked good and right moves when it was 6-2

Yuck! Can’t blow a 6-2 lead and 6-3 in 9th. This one really hurts as this Rutgers team swings it very well. We will see if we can respond

Sears does give up a walk, only 11th on season, but followed it with two K…. Has 3k through 2
