After watching CU plug and play video game style to immediately get results I think we are in trouble. Not just for this Saturday but because of a long rebuild that is in store for us. Our ineptitude has lost a generation of football talent. It’s all flash, money, social media, big personalities on the sidelines, instant overnight success or you’re gone. We have none of that. And I don’t think we are going to be able to compete with CU, OU, OSU, FSU, Oregon, USC, Bama, UGA for the skill players that get clicks. We are not breaking into that space. I thought we had a chance with Calibraska or Scotty with the hottest offense one year in football, but I’m done with it. There is no way we are going to get the high powered weapons away from these other schools. We have to go a different direction.

Instead we have to go back to old school traditional punch you in the mouth football. We need to reclaim that. A team that has a defensive identity. A team that runs the ball with heavy sets with bruising backs not the slot guys who don’t gain any yards on 90% of sweeps. Run the ball north/south. Use TE’s. Have some WRs that can block and a weapon that can stretch the field when defenses stack the box.  Here we can win. Take the players that Wisconsin, Iowa, Minny, KState want and out-recruit them for an identity. We plug skill holes via the portal.  Heck take our identity back from Wisconsin as we can do it better than them.

While everyone else is going new school we go old school and own the space and win on that identity.  That’s it. It will take time but once established can be a very solid program. If the defense also regains its rightful history it will once again be a program to be proud of.

We either adapt or become Wisconsin

I am under the weather, cranky, irritated at watching the Huskers look like they should carve “Rinse and Repeat” into the stone to memorialize their underwhelming program’s longer than recent history, and then seeing Colorado (with Coach $&@! Time).  As if there was not enough reasons to hate Colorado, at least they had been dormant.

I really don’t care if my post might be repetitive because frankly I am too tired and lazy to read 40 pages on this thread.  For everything holy, keep this close and punch them in the mouth…at the very least. Please!  We don’t ask for much these days!!!

That’s the problem the fan base needs to start demanding more. These people get paid millions of dollars and we’re supposed to believe in a process that puts kade Warner on the field. The fans don’t hold these people accountable and they’ve been selling the same dream.

Have you ever done everything in your power to achieve a favorable outcome or achieve an objective to only be criticized by someone who deems themselves the ultimate authority on all matters disregarding what your efforts in fact have been? It's an agenda that is intended to make the critic feel better about themselves however false the narrative. Somehow realities are threatening. Maybe they even snicker in an effort to bolster their denials. Beneath it all is cowardliness. Lots of people experience that.

It sounds like you're a passionate fan who cares about the success of your team. I don't recall you ever sharing anything egregious. I don't disagree that there's been some very bad choices. There's a lot of influences there at play. It's just unfortunate. It seems though that we are on a better trajectory with respect to that.

The post was directed to a minority here. Not those with differing perspective or opinions but those who's statements are emotionally-driven and irrational not about the interest of the team with respect to what it's objectives are but about themselves. I'm sure that quite a few are butt hurt that "their guy" wasn't hired and now right away when things get a little tough out of the gate, it's a convenient time to make their arguments.

Point being, it doesn't serve us to dwell on the past. Be it on the field or whatever executive type decisions were made. There's really only one choice to make if we want increase our chances of succeeding and that's focusing on addressing what's necessary to doing it and improving. Matt Rhule's process is front loaded with disruption.

There's a saying, a lie is sweet in the beginning and bitter in the end whereas, the truth is bitter in the beginning and sweet in the end. Sometimes I think that we get caught up in the hype forgetting that it'd be wise to tone down the amount of sugar in our glasses of Kool Aid. A baker can only bake with the flour he's got!

    Appreciate your thoughtful response.

Somebody point this man in the direction of a book club

Sonny Dykes was there at TCU for one off-season before last year and inherited a lot of draft level talents that are gone now. TCU is not an elite recruiter that has players to replace them with in one year. It's more a question of if their defense was a fluke last year or not. Dykes is a good offensive coach but even their offense took a hit this year with a downgrade at QB and losing 2 WRs and a HB and a G to the draft.

Do you really think a championship contending roster is one deep at each position? And morris was the starter and got hurt to start the year! They might not be the team they were last year but they definitely are more put together than us and Minnesota!

The point being that it's not like we ran vs Minnesota because we were milking it. We ran because they want to run the ball.

Wow you really missed the point. Read over and try this again when you understand.

Well you’re talking the ability to recruit and I’m saying the ability to develop can cancel out stars in recruiting. Smart Alec

It's not like we we had a comfortable lead at any point vs Minnesota and they stuck with it. Colorado has a good OC and some skill players but TCU is not a school that recruits well and just lost players from every level of their defense to the draft.

Recruits well? We are top 25 every year. How about development lol

  7. People discrediting tcu is weird. Yes there is going to be drop off but this qb actually beat duggan out for the job and got hurt. The offensive identity made Duggan look like a star. They might not be the same team but that’s a big win on the road and to overcome all of the drops and mental errors. That showed a lot of mental toughness as a team when we’ve seen nothing but the opposite everytime there is a chance show if you got a pair.

Lol I’m a little more apprehensive  about Saturday after what I just saw but yeah man I think we can f’n take this game.  Don’t get me wrong, if Sims has some inexcusable turnovers again it could get ugly fast.

that being said, tcu completely abandoned the run multiple times today when it was working and well. CU front way less impressive than minny- I have confidence we’ll be able to lean on em and wear them down easier than minnys front

And they can easily commit to the run game because we don’t have a Qb!! Look at the big picture we have to do our business within 10 yards and Hunter can cover any wide out we have. I have to see it to believe it and it looks like that won’t happen for a few more years
