  1. New charges in Florida. He tried to delete servers using his head custodian.

At this point this is just braindead Watergate and the guy millions of people want running the country makes Fredo look like a bonafide MENSA member.

I'm not sure what is different between this years team and last years, but they seem to play together more confidently. They've also been able to play some coordinated D to get some stops.

Keisei's also been on tonight, which helps. Also helps when Boston College goes on a Nebraska patented scoring drought.

Even watching us mostly struggle and lose games the same way., I've been consistently impressed with Keisei's play. He's a fairly reliable 3 point shooter, which is so much nicer than watching Mayen getting open looks and chuck up brick after brick last year... but more importantly, he's a hustle guy and always seems willing to play unselfish ball and make an extra pass if it gets someone else a better shot. He's the consummate team player.

Just a really, really wholesome, likeable dude. Great to see him explode tonight.

Idk man, maybe this is finally the Hoiberg team that could grind and break through, just a little bit.

If the football team has taught me anything, it's to lower my expectations and be very happy with consistent, if unspectacular, improvement year over year.

    Pretty much this:

I can understand if people prefer Fickell to Rhule.  No issue with that.

But to say either is significantly better than the other is disingenuous.  And to say Rhule is a bad hire is just being willfully ignorant.

It's fair to say Rhule is way more proven in succeeding in circumstances like the ones we're currently facing than Fickell, IMO.

I think it's quite possible we have somewhat underwhelming classes, in terms of stars, relative to the previous regime.

Where we will see the biggest difference is in the development of these recruits.  IMO

That's just fine with me because it's been utter dogs#!t ever since Bo left.

IMO NU has a recruiting FLOOR of ~Top 30-35 classes anyway. If Rhule can actually develop talent he gets we're gonna be overshooting that eventually. Even Frost was capable of doing that, he just was complete a$$ at player development.

I wonder if there are any legs to the thought that Lloyd being one of the first offers immediately after the Rhule hiring indicates he was a guy Mickey was in on but didn't want to offer prior to the new coach taking over (and implying Mickey will be staying). Obviously Coleman seems onboard with Coach Rhule and he's 100% a Mickey guy.

This just describes the biggest issue the left has to a tea.   When the argument is lost, just try and label someone with a label that doesn’t fit but tries to denigrate them.  :ahhhhhhhh

Kind of like conservatives do to trans people?

Is Pence not American?  I'm pretty sure he's a person...could be wrong though...

Pence is someone who absolutely will not get off his talking points, nor will he do anything he feels could hurt his carefully cultivated political image.

It's why any 2024 aspirations are DOA. He's not authentic, he's 100% manufactured. It's the same reason people don't like Ted Cruz or Hillary. Their image is phony.

I need to find the right article…maybe in my history,… but it was not just Cubans going for DeSantis. Puerto Ricans and other Latinos did as well. Nationally the Republicans gained with Hispanics from 2018. It’s a 60/40 Dem lead now.

My point was that the margin in Florida isn’t very useful because of how strongly Republican Cubans are. So I just think that context is important.

The GOP is gaining with them but personally for me it’s pretty meh. Hispanics aren’t a monolith so it’s not like the same equal amounts of the same groups of them are trending Republicans evenly across swing states, etc. For instance the heavy shift in Florida probably skewed the national margin. And younger Hispanics are likely more liberal than older ones, just like other nationalities.

Rhere are some lessons to learn there but they’re not very clear nor very generalizable.

I have been trying to find the exit polling on Latino voting. it went big for DeSantis obviously, but overall male Latino support for Dems dropped below 55% from 63%. Latino women were stronger for the Dems than the men. Desantis rose from 44% to above 60%. What does mean for his run in 2024?

edit: more on the Florida numbers with a nice interactive map.

You can’t extrapolate Florida Hispanics nationwide because how much Cubans skew the sample there.

So in reality it doesn’t tell us much.

  9. NBC just called the Arizona Governor's race for Hobbs. Meaning the Trumpist candidates ran in swing states all lost. Except Lombardo in Nevada and I'm not even sure calling him a Trumpist is accurate. He's more of your run-of-the-mill ring kisser.

I think we're entering the phase where everyone except the hardcores pretend they never supported him.

The Senate is more preferable than the House. Mostly because Democrats can keep nominating judges, even potentially any SCOTUS openings.

Of course it would've been best to keep both, but in a midterm environment holding onto any chamber is practically unheard of.

Masto should win in NV. There are too many votes outstanding in Clark county (Vegas) to be offset the rural votes dribbling in which will favor L:axalt. Unless he magically starts running up ridiculous margins in Vegas (zero evidence this will occur), she will pull away.

That should hopefully render Georgia a moot point and give Republicans there permission to stay home or cross the aisle to avoid the trainwreck that is Herschel Walker.

Dems gaining a seat in the Senate while the Rs get to deal with a nightmare situation in the House and get their butts kicked in a lot of statewide elections is pretty fantastic, IMO.

The House is a meme body anyway. I'm sure they'll be firing up the panels to investigate Hunter Biden and Hillary ASAP.
