Well, defense is playing well.
-
What happened to this fantastic offensive line we were supposed to have?
-
And they showed it.... what a joke.
-
So, are they gonna show that or just assure us that it really happened and this isn't some kind of bizarre conspiracy?
-
And they get it. Looks like OT.
-
Need 2-pt conversion to tie....
-
Safety. 22-14 Boilers.

There was a time where LSU was literally the only team Nebraska could beat in a bowl game. Three times in five years and that was sandwiched around a whole bunch of losses.
Funny how things change.

Halftime show was terrific.
I had guys I knew from high school who don't follow football at all and don't know of my interest in the Huskers were posting this all over facebook and twitter.

1990 was perhaps the only Osborne-coached team that ever phoned it in. After the CU loss, they were listless.
In the OU game, Mickey Joseph got thrown into a bench and broke his leg after he was waaaayyy out of bounds and they called nothing. It all kind of snowballed from that point. In the Citrus Bowl, they played what was probably the best team in the nation. That matchup shouldn't have happened. I'm still scratching my head about it.
How is this on topic? Well, in a 25 year career, that was the exception.
Under Pelini, that OU game happens once, sometimes twice in a year.

No turnovers. Don't give the opposition any free points, it's as simple as that.
-
Honestly, I'd settle for things like they were in the 70s and 80s. A couple of up years, a couple of down years. An occasional conference title. Maybe once or twice a decade, they contend for a title. A Fiesta Bowl or an Orange Bowl once in awhile.
Some of my favorite Huskers teams were the ones that didn't win it all. 1982, 1983. The '88 team that finally beat Oklahoma for the first time in five years.
More than anything else, how about a respectable showing on television? A conference road game without four turnovers, countless penalties and silly defensive breakdowns?
I know 60-3 isn't gonna happen again. I'm perfectly fine with that.
Just some competent football in a big game - any big game, bowl game.
-
Four turnovers. Stupid penalties. Defensive breakdowns.
Rinse, repeat.
Five years and no end in sight.
-
Yep..... you want them to stop?
Don't allow 63 points.
-
This one didn't quite snowball like that one did. But they're still spotting waaaaay too many free points to the opposition.
The one thing different about this game is that they did a good job of brushing off their mistakes... to a point until they became too much to overcome.
-
Four turnovers are unacceptable. Period. End of story.
Almost as unacceptable as your post in a thread supporting T-Mart.
The kid had a bad game. He'll bounce back with our support.
This isn't a "bad game". It's a pattern.
He's a talented player but none of it means anything if you give away free points to the opposition with the frequency that he does. He needs to be smarter. Or taught better. Or both.

I have to say it.... the postgame show is a farce. Every single one goes like this......
Deep Voice Over Guy: You're listening to Bigggggg Reddddd Football
Sharpe: Recap score, ask inane question
Pelini: Terse one word answer
Sharpe: Ask inane question
Pelini: Terse one word answer
Sharpe: Awkward sponsor plug
(10 minutes of commercials)

Stay tuned for the locker room show.
I mean really....

I'm depressed as hell.
I wonder if Nebraska will ever be competitive again. There's nothing special about it anymore to the un-aligned observer. OK, well, we got great fan support.... I like to think that means something, but 10 more years of this and I wonder if we will all be so forgiving.
I'm getting less and less interested every week. I haven't bought any new Husker gear in awhile. I didn't feel motivated to drive to see a game this year. I don't wear my jerseys anymore.
I'm tired of this. It's so damn predictable. This is exactly what I worried was going to happen because, well, it happens a lot now. I'm getting used to it. I don't like that.
I feel like the geographical shift has finally made us obsolete.

*sigh*
I was okay with a loss. I expected it. If we can play our best and get beat, I can respect that.
I just wanted ONE ROAD GAME where we didn't make a #$%ing mess of it and turn the ball over a bunch of times and suffer a bunch of jaw-droppingly stupid defensive breakdowns.
I guess that's too much to ask for.
-
Well.... 27-10 last week, 27-6 last year.... at least we know we're capable. OK, that was at home, I know.
Look, we've owned a sizeable portion of this game. We really should be ahead or tied.
If the tables would ever $%^#*ing turn and we'd actually be the beneficiary of a couple of turnovers for once.....
-
Play OU once in awhile and make 2021 happen.
I wouldn't want to play them every year. That horse has long bolted. I barely recognize OU these days when I see them.

Awful Announcing @awfulannouncing
Has Mark May picked Ohio State in a game since Buckeye fans chanted "Mark May sucks" at him at the Sugar Bowl?
-
Meh. Didn't hate them.... just meh. I prefer the traditionals.
I think establishing one game a year for uniform experiments is OK. I'd like to see more throwbacks on anniversaries. Next year is 30 years from 1983, how about an '83 set for one game, maybe against UCLA since we played them that year.
I really want to see the 70'-71' set appear in a throwback at some point.

Did they just give him a standing ovation?
