  1. In the case of all three (Green, Moore, Rome) it seems that playing time, or the losing of their starting spots could have been the issues that they had with the program.... Watching Abdullah now, it seems obvious why Green left.... Green is 4th player Who is the other aside from Rome, Green, and Moore.... Klatchko
  2. But your comments do not read like your "all for" Chase Rome leaving the team. I realize this has been a hectic week for NU football what with the high expectations for UCLA game turning to the reality that our defense is not good. I don't like players leaving any more than the next guy BUT this guy was not performing on the field and apparently chose to quit rather than work harder or earn his spot. In my mind, Bo is doing what he needs to do; trying to jerk the slack out of this defense. Rome wasn't down with that plan. Good riddance. Only because no one knows for certain that's why he (or the other 3) left. If that's the case, then good riddance. I just wish we had more info to go on other than just hearsay.
  3. FLU, You were Embarrassed by the guys on the field? These guys texting you got you embarrassed? I can show you examples of what I would be embarrassed about and it is not a situation I had any control over! Embarrassing for me is waking up in the morning and finding a 300 pound plus woman in my bed and knowing my friends know about it! Embarrassing for me is having to take a pee and going into an alley and whipping it out and that ONE COP just comes walking by! Embarrassing for me is being at a party with some high end people and Sharting myself and having to leave, never to return! Embarrassing for me was the time I called the woman Sir,because I really thought she was a skinny man and having her correct me! But your embarrassed about what 22 players did in a Football game and getting text messages??? WOW. Yep, when you live and breathe and bleed that team, damn right. BTW dude, sounds to me like you have some serious issues.
  4. If you want to say the loss to UCLA wasn't embarassing, that's your perspective. I, on the other hand, had people calling and texting me left and right asking me WTF was going on, thought Bo was supposed to be a defensive genius, thought the Blackshirts were supposed to be good, LSU's practice squad could beat us, etc. I was embarassed.
  5. You've made the same point since Saturday. Just shut up. We get it, you want changes, that aren't happening because no one agrees with you. and yet people still continue to say that I said I want Bo fired, etc. Please, someone, anyone, point this out to me. and BTW, isn't that what the "ignore" button is for? Because I know that I have plenty of posters that I have blocked... as a matter of fact, I'll be glad to add you two. Buh-bye!
  6. FLU- you really shouldn't ride Bo's ass for putting a poor defensive unit on the field and then complain that a another player has left the team from what looks like the direct result of Pelini logically changing schemes or starters. One move or the other should meet with your approval. Rome and the D line are not getting the job done. If he wants to leave because of losing his starting position or because of reduced play time, good riddance. Maybe some other prima donnas will see it and won't waste our time by coming here. They are only getting the message that needs to be gotten; the team comes before the individual. Once again, apparently you didn't read my earlier post. I clearly stated that if this is a case of Bo playing the best avaiable player over a player that has seniority, that I'm all for it.
  7. You've made the same point since Saturday. Just shut up. We get it, you want changes, that aren't happening because no one agrees with you. Wrong on so many levels, and that's why I repeat myself, because people like you just don't get it.
  8. This may be true, but if so, why was he ever the starter to begin with It's stuff like that that makes me wonder. Just seems to be more to it than guys being lazy or not wanting competition. Competition for playing time exists at very school, not just NU. Shut up. OOOhhh, internet tough guy. Shut up. You've used a dozen or more posts in this thread to say essentially the same thing. Just shut up already.
  9. I've learned one inevitable truth on this board: don't dare make a critical comment about Bo, or prepare to be crucified.
  10. This may be true, but if so, why was he ever the starter to begin with It's stuff like that that makes me wonder. Just seems to be more to it than guys being lazy or not wanting competition. Competition for playing time exists at very school, not just NU. Shut up. OOOhhh, internet tough guy.
  11. All I know is that something has to be done to make big-name recruits want to come here. We can't survive on walk-ons and 2-star long-snappers. Losing to teams like UCLA in embarrassing fashion, and having guys quitting the program left and right, isn't the way to do it.
  12. People can have the attitude that it's the players' faults all they want, but there's no denying that this does have a negative impact. When potential recruits see all of these past big-name guys quitting, it's gotta make them wonder what the heck is going on.
  13. This may be true, but if so, why was he ever the starter to begin with It's stuff like that that makes me wonder. Just seems to be more to it than guys being lazy or not wanting competition. Competition for playing time exists at very school, not just NU.
  14. No, because all of LSU's players with those kind of character issues are busy getting suspend, and kicked off the team for "other" reasons.... Come on man; I know you don't really believe that. How many have been suspended? 1? 4 are academically ineligible. The have not 1, not 2, but SIX legit RBs who could be 1st string anywhere in the country, and none of them quit or transfer due to lack of playing time.
  15. Why would you put this on Bo? If kids like Moore, and possibly Rome, want to quit THEIR TEAM because they are losing their starting spots, then that is a character issue on them, not Bo. Chase Rome is appearing to be very selfish with this decison. They could all learn a thing or two about TEAM, from Brion Carnes.... If this is the case, then that's fine. I agree that the best players should be the ones on the field, not just the ones with the mosy seniority. Just seems strange that so many players are quitting. LSU has freshmen playing all the time and the older guys don't quit b/c of it.
  16. I love the fact that fans are sticking up for Bo, and I have never doubted him before this season... but all of the quitting and the game last weekend have definitely made me wonder WTF is going on.
  17. This thing is gonna snowball outta control if they don't get their sh#t together...........
  18. Every day I wake up I wonder who is going to quit. How many players are going to have to quit for fans to admit that something is horribly wrong with this program? When one player quits, yeah it's probably the player. Two quit, hmm, maybe sour grapes. But when 3, 4, 5 players quit all within a couple of months, it's a tell-tale sign that something isn't right.
  19. There is obviously a problem; it is not normal for players to be quitting left and right. We can't just keep saying, "Oh, we don't need him anyway, move on."
  20. This is pretty much how I feel. I said before the season our max win total would be 8, and that losing 4 straight in the middle of the season was a distinct possibility. People called me crazy, stupid, retarded, etc. We shall see. Just prepare to be ridiculed for saying this "only 2 games into the season."
  21. No, I left out your age because it's not important. I don't care how old you were. I don't care if you jumped on the Nebraska bandwagon during that game. But I did put that quote of yours in there for a purpose. Then I saw, "NEBRASKA 84, MINNESOTA 13." At that moment, I instantly became an NU fan... ~ FLU I was hoping you would look at that quote and think about that game. I was hoping you would think about that season. Why? Because when Nebraska beat Minnesota 84 - 13... that was in 1983. That was 11 (ELEVEN) years after Tom Osborne became head football coach on Nebraska. Interestingly that was really the first year Tom Osborne had a chance at a National Championship. It took Tom Osborne 11 years for that opportunity. Now Bo is only into his 5th season as head coach. Is it fair to compare Bo and Osbornes careers? Absolutely, no. But is it fair to compare their first 5 years as head coaches and the circumstances they both came into? Absolutely, yes. So lets do that. I'll look specifically at just Tom Osbornes first 5 years. 1973 9-2-1 lost to unranked Missouri, tied unranked Okie State, lost to Oklahoma 0-27 1974 9-3 lost to unranked Wisconsin, unranked Missouri, lost to Oklahoma 14-28 1975 10-2 lost to ASU, lost to Oklahoma 10-35 1976 9-3-1 lost to #17 Missouri, unranked Iowa St., lost to Oklahoma 17-20 1977 9-3 lost to unranked Iowa St., lost to Oklahoma 7-38 You do a lot of talking about how Bo can't win the big game, loses games he shouldn't lose. And your right.. But Tom Osborne had that same problem too when he started his career. Tom could not beat Oklahoma to save his life. Some pretty bad losses too. He also lost games he had no business losing. Missouri, Iowa State, Wisconsin. Here's a similarity between Bo and Tom. Both have won at least 9 games each season of their respective careers. Now that may change with Bo if he can't pull it together this year, but being a head hunter only two games into the season just doesn't make sense to me. You can say your saying you don't want Bo fired. But that's kind of hard to believe when your talking about it. Now I may change my opinion come end of season, but at this point I find it ridiculous to talk about. So about how old you were when you made that quote. Doesn't matter. I didn't comment on quote. All I did was quote you. Next time you look at the quote think about that game. Think about that year. And maybe think about what it took and what Tom Osborne had to go through to get to that point. All I wanted you to do... was think. As I've said all along, 9 is the magic number. As long as he keeps winning 9 a year, he's fine w/ me. Like I've said all along, I like Bo; I thought he was a good hire. I WANT him to succeed. I just don't think he'll get to 9 this year, something I said before the season, due to lack of recruiting and lack of improvement among the group we do have. Let's just wait and see. If he wins less than 9 games this year, you'll have a lot more people than just me to deal with.
  22. but how many of those kids will still be left in the program 3 years from their recruitment? it's a numbers game and the classes are small. 4 of the 11 4* guys that made the 2011 class top notch aren't on the roster. 1 just showed up. One can't tackle. Another is a big question mark. Those are our sophomores, and Turner and Abdullah are the only two showing promise. A couple others are seeing a play here an there, but 2-3 out of 20 isn't exactly inspiring. The year before that is almost as bad. a QB that is now a WR. A few guys (david/yoshi) that are now gone. A handful of transfers/no-shows. Enunwa, Bell are the only two impact guys in the 2010 class. SJB is contributing, a couple others have seen the field. But all-in all most haven't gotten into the starting rotation. 2-3 out of 22 isn't exactly inspring. 2009 should be the class that's seeing a lot of time right? well a good chunk are gone. Rex was obviously the all-star of the bunch. Taylor obviously. Sirles/Qvale and a couple others. But really only about 4-5 impact players and some others filling holes. Bottom line, if we're only getting 2-3 guys on the field after 2-3 years in the system...we've got issues. The 2008 class has a number of starters, not because of quality but out of necessity due to the lack of talent below them. Same with a few guys in the 2009 class. Martin, Ankrah, etc. The 2008/2009 classes wouldn't be hurting us as much as they are if the talent brought in behind them was what we thought it was. But it hasn't been. Or it has and is now playing for another team/sitting at home. agreed
  23. The thing is, this isn't going to happen right now; the earliest it would be is the end of the 2013 season. A lot can change between now and then.
  24. I personally like Chris Petersen, although I think it would be difficult to get him away from Boise. I've also seen Bill Cowher mentioned, but no way we he come to coach Nebraska, when he has NFL teams who want him. I know people don't like Bobby Petrino, but the guy is a winner... maybe down the road his rep will be somewhat improved and he'd be worth a shot. I also am looking forward to see how Rich Rod does at Arizona... I don't think he was given enough time at Michigan. Another guy that needs to be considered is Jim Tressel (yes, I know.)
