  1. In case you missed it... http://community.prepticket.com/video/vide...3AVideo%3A92616
  2. There is only a logjam if he isn't better than those already on the roster. Other than Castille and Helu, I am not sure that is the case. I am impressed with what Ward and Okafor have shown this year so far, but it is possible that Rex is better than them all and gets in the rotation as the third back. If Helu really breaks out this year and becomes the undisputed #1 option we all think he is, is it out of the realms of possibilities that Rex comes in and earns a co-#2 spot with Castille? The staff sure liked the co-#1 option last year naming Castille, Helu, and Lucky at that spot for most of the year. He is an outstanding slot receiver as well
  3. Sorry dude, that is just soooooo freaking ridiculous to say. 16 years old? No he's 18 or 19 Like I originally said, that's a bold statement.
  4. Yikes. I'll admit it's a bold statement, but with that being said, you won't find anyone with a stronger work ethic and smarts on the field. He just flat out makes defenders look stupid. I guess I'm just tired of the hype. Everyone wants to find the next super recruit to hang their hat on... and the majority don't ever make a meaningful contribution. Burkhead, if he EVER is our best player in the next four years, will probably not be at the top until he is an upperclassman. I can understand that with football season SO FAR AWAY!!! Most of what you hear of Rex is absolutely true. No smoke and mirrors with him. Who said anything about smoke and mirrors? I am saying Division I college football is a far cry from high school ball. Although he played in a competitive high school league, Burkhead has not faced the talent that he will face against even the weaker Division I team. Let the kid actually touch the field before you crown him. (When will some Husker fans learn their lesson? DON'T HYPE PLAYERS BECAUSE THEY WILL DISAPPOINT MORE OFTEN THAN THEY SUCCEED. See Curt Dukes, Harrison Beck, Marlon Lucky, Sam Keller, etc. etc. etc. etc.) I wasn't crowning anyone and I'm not a huskers fan yet. I'm a Burkhead fan and joined simply because of him. What I meant by smoke and mirrors was not to say that he is the greatest thing to hit Nebraska, but rather to imply that what you see is what you get with him. He is a no nonsense, hard working kid with great athletesism and football smarts. That's it. Oh, by the way, I hope to become a life long Husker fan because I do know a lot about the program and am happy Burkhead chose to attend. I believe he fits the build of the Husker nation.

  7. The long dog days of summer are on the way and I'm already tired of waiting for football season. 2 more months and Rex will officially be in Nebraska.
  8. Another honor stowed upon an incredible recruit. http://community.prepticket.com/video/vide...3AVideo%3A92616

  10. Please excuse the repetitiveness. Got button happy. http://www.hsgametime.com/dfw/sharedconten...se.3905fcb.html Probably one of the best highlight videos of Rex.
  11. Is there a link or a place to hear "The Big Red Wrap-up"??? I would love to hear it. Here's a link. Go to bottom of page, Show #18. http://netdb.unl.edu/bigredwrapup/ Wow!!! What a well put together show that is. I take it that it plays after all of the games during the season and the spring game? Thanks for the link. Good, thanks for the info. I'll be looking forward to it. I have a feeling I will be in Nebraska a lot over the next four years. Who knows, might become a lifer. Yeah, they do a pretty good job with it. They review all the games and have different guests on each week, usually media guys or ex players.

  15. Here is a link to another great article about Rex and his character. http://www.prepticket.com/news/market/north--texas/id/2338
  16. Welcome to our site, chickenheart. And thankyou for stopping by. Do you have some kind of a relationship with Rex? Or just an acquaintance? Seems like a great, great character. Seldom do you hear a star athlete with his reserved tone when speaking. Husker fans have got to watch this Dallas interview: http://www.hsgametime.com/dfw/videopage.ht...28596&shu=1 I know his dad pretty well and Rex is friends with my nephew. There is no doubt that Rex has some legendary status here in Plano. I'm so excited to watch him play there next year. His contribution should be noticed immediately.
  17. Congrats Nebraska!!! You have obtained one of the most explosive athletes and one of the finest young men I have ever known. Now, when is the spring game because I think I am going to try to make the trip from Dallas?

  19. Sorry, you won't see any poses. He always hands the ball to the ref and goes back to the sideline. He is extremely humble. Superman is his nickname in highschool. I believe Tebow already has that one in college.
  20. I think both could be good team leaders. I hope Burkhead gets to comtribute on offense but if he does end up at safety he'll be leading the defense while Green has the offense following him. He will contribute no matter what position he is asked to play. His football smarts are incredible. He returned punts, kickoffs, played linebacker, safety, qb, slot receiver, runningback and occasionally punted the ball. The kid knows what is going on at all times on the field. Oh, if someone doesn't, he will tell them. He's just an incredible athelete and on Fridays I couldn't wait to see what he was going to do this time. Looks like I'm going to have to subscribe to ESPN's Gametime so I can see all of the Huskers games next year. I even plan on attending a few. I hear the atmosophere, whether its a winning or loosing season, is unbelieveable. Great fans and alumni from what I hear. You guys really landed a treasure. The level of highschool play in the DFW area is ridiculous and Rex made people look plain stupid sometimes on the field. I hope you all will have the same anticipations on Saturdays as I did on Fridays to see him play.
  21. Hello Husker fans! I am now committed to you and your school for at least the next 4 years due to the fact that Bo has successfully recruited my favorite highschool football player of all time. I've watched Rex play since he was in little league and he still holds most of the RB records in Plano for Pee Wee. I'm so priviledged to have watched him throughout his highschool career. Some of you may not know it, but the highschools in Plano, Tx are divided with 9th & 10th being junior high and 11th & 12th being senior high. It is rare to have freshmen starting varsity football in Plano but Rex found his way onto the varsity football and basketball teams as a freshman. At 5' 10" his fresman year he was dunking the ball. This is the finest of the finest young men you will ever meet. I'm not speaking atheletics right now, I'm speaking of the man. This kid is very special and it's hard to find them like this anymore. Your school will truly be a better place with him there. I have a special needs nephew who has been a trainer on the Plano team for two years and has a formed a close bond with Rex and some of the other players on the team. I'm not talking about the bond of saying hello and being nice, I'm talking about going out of your way on a Saturday night to attend his birthday party and other events. When writing about Rex, it is hard to keep it short & sweet and with being a forum I am going to stop. This is a little insight into the man, the stats and videos on is atheletic ability give you the rest.
