  1. Wow...I see what you mean. Not too many supportive fans on this board.
  2. Alright, after seeing how down and depressed our coach was last night on his show, I decided that it was best Husker Nation shows that they support him and have his back. He needs us now more than ever. So if you support him and what he's done for this program, please shoot him an email at... =upold@huskers.com]pold@husker] GBR
  3. This guy reminds me a lot of Steve Slaton in high school. He's got that kind of speed, definitely needs to stay at RB IMO. I think it would be better to move Helu to safety or OLB.
  4. In my opinion, the kid belongs on the offensive side of the ball. He's got great body control and excellent hands, could be a real threat in the red zone. He may take a little longer to develop, but who knows. When I first saw this kid's highlights I thought there was no way that Rivals only had him at two stars. He's worthy of a high 3 star IMO.
  5. This guy is going to be huge for Nebraska. Should be a Farley-like OLB for us. Was number one on my wish list all year. Much better than the 3 stars Rivals gives him.
  6. Mine was probably the fumble that Ola took back about 20 yards. I was jumping up and down. The last play was insane, too. Good thing Titus Brothers was paying attention. That game was great through and through.
  7. Nah, that happened weeks before the bowl. It's helped a lot. Niles Paul committed because he was extremely excited after the bowl win. From what I've heard, Ricky Thenarse had pretty much eliminated Nebraska until the bowl game, and they jumped back into things and are in front to land him (if he qualifies). We can ride a huge win through the off-season and into next. I think, with the addition of Paul so soon, next year's recruiting class will make another run for #1, and probably be Callahan's best yet (less JUCOs).
  8. Actually Tomerlin hasn't played TE in like 4 years. He even said he would move to DE if we needed him to. If he is moving to DE then they must be comfortable with the TE depth. Bingo. Phillips is much more experienced than Tomerlin at this moment. Plus, I think Clayton Sievers is going to shock a lot of people this year and receive a lot of PT.
  9. I, too, live in central Florida. Love meeting Husker fans, always very nice and up to talk about the team. I'll just be hanging out with some of my buddies wearing my Nebraska hat and someone will come up and we'll start talking about the Huskers. It's great to know that Husker Nation makes it this far, I get excited seeing Husker bumper stickers and hitch covers down here.
  10. It's a good move. Tomerlin hasn't played TE since high school. Meanwhile, he's a huge pass-rushing threat at open end. Either we could put him at TE where he possibly wouldn't start (Phillips is doing a great job stepping up into the starting role) or we could use him at DE where he would be in the regular rotation and could make some plays for us. Our D-Line is gonna be great this year. DE - Carriker and Moore Muhammed and Tomerlin Potter and Turner Blankenship and Steinkuhler DT - Smith and Adams Dagunduro and Cryer Suh and Helming We're gonna be very deep and will definitely get a good pass rush going with these 14 guys who will all see time. At TE, we're gonna be alright. TE - J.B. Phillips Josh Mueller Clayton Sievers David Harvey Sean Hill with a very outside chance of Herian returning this year. Still though, I think Phillips and Sievers will step up big time at TE, and Mueller might even live up to the hype he drew coming in. We'll be alright.
  11. I find it funny how people won't give Callahan any time at all. A 7-4 record would be a pretty good improvement this year. Albeit it's not really what we want as Nebraska fans, Cally definitely wouldn't get the boot. These stupid journalists forget to see that Stoops sucked his first year at OU, Carroll his first few years at USC, Franchione his first year at aTm...yet they have turned these programs around. Screw Avery Smith, he's a horrible journalist as it is.
  12. I think it's kind of funny. Let's just hope it's not roid rage...
  13. No Brandon Jackson or Harrison Beck?
  14. Nebraska - 28 Wake - 17 We'll struggle and go down 17-14 in the third, but bounce back late in the game with an explosion by Ross. Taylor will have his first real struggles, throwing for 174, one TD to LeFlore and two INTs. Ross will rush for 132 and 2 TDs and Bullocks will return an INT for a TD.
  15. Probably been done before but here it goes. Who do you consider... The Most Underrated Player: The Most Overrated Player: ...in Nebraska history. Just would like to see what ya'll think. Here's mine. Underrated: Scott Frost. Never really ever got the respect he deserved and was better than Crouch IMO. Overrated: Crouch. Sorry, but he shouldn't have won the Heisman. On the other hand, he makes up for it when Frazier was robbed in '95. But none-the-less, Dorsey deserved that trophy.
  16. 1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation? Started watching in '94, but I was pretty much destined to be a Husker fan since birth since my whole family is from Nebraska. 2) What/who led you to The Nation? Grandfather and dad. My grandpa had a partial scholarship to play for Nebraska in the late forties/early fifties but chose to play in junior college. 3) Where are you from originally? Geneva, FL 4) Where do you live now? Geneva, FL 5) Favorite Husker memory? Beating the crap out of Florida and silencing all the smug bastards that talk trash down here. 6) Worst Husker memory? Texas in 2002 when Jamaal threw the interception at the end of the game. Heartbreaking. 7) Number of home games attended? None, but most likely finally going to one this year. 8) Number of away games attended? None. I was hoping they would've beat CU and made the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando. 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? Had a Nebraska teddy bear when I was little, but I have too much merchandise to pick a favorite. 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) My house or down at my grandpa's house since he has Direct TV. 11) Favorite all time player? Tough one. Tossup between Frazier, Wistrom, and Green. In all honesty, though, it was Warrick Dunn when he played at FSU. He was my idol. 12) WCO or Option? Option in the glory days until we couldn't recruit the talent to run it. The WCO is getting us some good recruits, we'll see how it pans out in the next few years. If all goes as I think it will, it'll be the best move we could've made. 13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? Stevie P. has done A LOT for this program in his short time and recruited some of our best talent in the early-mid 90s. Plus he had the balls to make a change when we were in dire need. 14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? Old Herbie. Lil Red is just freaky. 15) Favorite Husker play? Tie...Frazier's 75 yard run, Rucker's block against K-State and the OU trick pass. Or the time that KU tried it on us and we brought them down for a 20 yard loss. That was classic. 16) Favorite game-day beverage? Dos Equis, Killian's, Amber Bock...any lager. Of course I'm not of legal age yet... 17) How did you find HuskerBoard? (referral source) Lucky3000
  17. Strange. Ryan Goodman was a future National Champion wrestler, not a football player. Why he transferred still shocks me.
  18. Florida. I want to see us kill them again. And if not the Gators, definitely UCF so I'll be exiled from Campus when I show up in my red and white.
  19. Win: Oklahoma Lose: Kansas It'll happen.
  20. It's been stated over and over again by the players that last year was an attitude problem. A lot of the defensive guys didn't buy into Cosgrove's scheme and just plain lost their pride. Albeit, Cos shouldn't have thrown that much man coverage in when the zone kicked ass in 2003, and he's switching back this year, but the talent was there. The heart wasn't. That will change significantly this year. The rush defense will be top 10 in the nation.
  21. We shoulda went with a light red, dark red scheme like Boise State and their blue
  22. C-4 has quickly become one of my favorite Huskers of all time due to his heart. I hope he rushes for 1500+ this year and gets some All-American recognition, then goes before the 5th round in the draft. He deserves it.
  23. 2 Elite 11 QBs in a row (and both were Rivals Top 100 players at some time or another) Future's looking great. From what I hear Freeman is only taking a backseat to Stafford. Beck didn't do too great at the camp last year, so I was worrying a little bit. None-the-less, both should be great and will push Taylor this year and next, and then each other for the next 4-5 years.
  24. Looks like we're gonna have a lot of young guys fighting for playing time with Covey, Glenn and Suh all stepping it up. I figured all three would redshirt seeing how deep we are at LB, RB and DT. I'd still prefer to redshirt Glenn, as I feel he may get lost in the mix with Ross, Jackson and Jackson, and Lucky. Not to mention if Tierre Green plays a little offense as well, as I heard he would after spring practice.
