I don't imagine it starts out with some company having an explicit goal towards a nefarious and obviously troubling use case. In terms of audio, a handful of years back Adobe was showing a demo of a new feature in which their new AI protocol could help you clean up audio from an interview, and even possibly add or replace words based off an algorithmically built voice profile of the recording. As a filmmaker, this has been awesome for me in certain jobs where I need to cut an edit down for time and a speaker isn't being concise or to the point, or stumbles over a word, or the audio isn't clean from background noise, etc. But there's no reality in which you can only have a tool used for positive and beneficial use cases without it being available for bad ones.

Same with Chat GPT. I use it to help reword emails, come up with pitch deck points, re-order and reformat data values such as lists of names or email addresses, and it even writes code for me sometimes. All immensely helpful uses that have helped me professionally and creatively, but it comes with the inevitable downside of being used to cheat/lie or being used as evidence even though its conclusions are wrong, and so on.

We use it a lot in school.

I can take 10 pages of my old notes and put it into GPT and have it get condensed to bullet points for lecture in seconds.

They swear that the benefits of Ai are massive -- the ability to solve complex problems like climate, income inequity, disease, agricultural efficiency and basic human fulfillment in ways we literally haven't imagined.

And yet it's so easy to see how it would get co-opted by the worst opportunists.

If history is any indicator, the first wave of innovation will come from the porn industry.

    It already has...

Or...so I was told by someone.

I know this is not intentional but if you have ever worked outdoor maintenance, those dudes are IN LOVE with their sprinklers and watering.   There was 100% chance that they were not going to turn it off.

Not to veer into P&R territory, but when Deion came to Colorado from an HBU and drew a lot of haters with him, Colorado gained a major profile and rooting interest from Black Americans, including those with no previous college allegiance and many who didn't otherwise follow football at all.

Deion was a huge mainstream media story the first few games of the year, with millions of dollars swirling around him and the University, but it dropped off the map when Colorado plummeted to the bottom of the conference. I don't see the hype coming back, even if CU adds two wins and gets to a bowl game. If he sticks around and genuinely builds the program,  he'll deserve the respect. That just feels like a long shot right now.

Yeah, I think it was just a very quick flash for CU and the way they started last year it makes sense that they were so popular.

  5. I feel like attendance will be just over 60K.

I hate the start time for this one as it really ruins the pregame fun but me and my group will still have a good time!

Last season I was a bit shocked at how many bars are not open by 9am on a game day, why as a bar owner you would not do all you can to embrace that atmosphere makes zero sense to me.

Basically you will have Bodega's, Sandy's and Barry's, those will be open for sure.

Those types of scenarios are complete bulls#!t too.  So unfair to the employee and obviously limited your employment opportunities.

    100% agreed.

In my field, I have to submit at least 3 letters of recommendation with one being from a current boss.  Super awkward.

"Hey, can you write me a letter of rec, I am trying to leave here"

Maybe not violent. But they support violence.

I would love to know who is behind this. It’s been pointed out on line that they all have new tents, the same kind, same color….etc.

Theres more to this than what we know.

Just my (lame) guess, they probably planned this tailgate protest last week and just ordered the tents, probably using a really lame group-chat-text that they are all in because no one else texts them.  So one of them probably just linked the tent and it went from there.

  8. I mean, we would have to see the books but I would imagine there is a lot of money to be made with a having a very popular (losing) team.

Cubs did it for years and banked.

The Huskers have done it for what, 7 or 8 years now?

You could probably make an argument that if CU had a different coach last year and squeaked out a 6-6 season with some lame bowl game, that they would have made way less.

Now, what will happen is the fans/media will stop caring if the they keep sucking.

Now, I don't see anything that looks violent or all that out of line there.  So, calling the National Guard is insane.

Let them do it, let them stay out there and have their protest and tailgate.

  10. I don't think they are getting "better players" as much as they are just getting new players that are for the most part similar to what has left.

They are probably a team that will go based off of about 10-12 players.  The games where they go 42-50 for 450 yards and 4 TD passes, they will be okay.

Everything is based around their QB/WRs, which makes sense.  I bet you see really wide splits from their OL this year, like what TT used to do and a deeper shotgun drop, like what Mizzo used to do.

Trying to keep guys off the QB as much as possible.

Haha….I’m sure you earned those beatings

I can’t remember what I did to start this but one time my mom was gonna slap me, I took off running away and she followed. She slipped on a rug on a wood floor and fell flat on her back. I went over to make sure she was okay and as I leaned down she reached up and slapped me probably 3x harder than she would’ve originally

    Classic!

When I was a kid I pissed my Mom off and she told me to go "get the belt" my Dad had this leather belt that was CLEARLY purchased at some Child-Abuser-Store, it was NOT something you would find a K-mart or the mall.  It was designed to beat asses of kids.

So I got the belt and hid it and I told my Mom I could not find it...TO THIS DAY...it is still hidden in their house.  Me and my brother still joke about it.

I don't totally get who is doing the vetting and why he or anyone else can't walk "in", isn't that just part of campus?

It is something to do...that is why they are there.  It is is a social gathering for them, it is a tailgate.  They drank before or during and/or they smoked before or during (nothing wrong with that)

Go ask 10 girls at a Husker tailgate who the Huskers are playing that day...9/10 won't know and their answers will sound similar to hers.  They are there to be part of a social gathering.

This is not a "guys are smarter than girls" thing, if anything girls are smarter than guys by a long shot.

This is just a "they don't even know why they are there" thing.

You have 3 groups of people there.

    1.  Pro-Pally (Maybe anti-Israel but probably not)

    2.  Pro-Hamas (Anti every other person)

    3.  Social Gatherers
