Can't NU just negotiate for the other Big Ten teams to move closer to NU?

Gotta drive 8 hours just to see them play at Purdue

I have to think that no matter who goes after Frost that NU will get Prima Nocta.

Beating teams like Purdue, NW, IL, Minny and 2-3 Non-conference chumps.  That is 7 wins right there.

There are more wins than losses built into the Huskers schedule, Bo proved that, he was a terrible coach with a high school staff and they did it.

I don't think college coaching is as "James Bondish" as you might be thinking.  

If NU is interested they will have a firm contact UCF to ask for permission...they will say "yes"...the firm will contact Frost's agent and it will go from there.

I would go bonkers for him but I do agree that he really was able to eat up the Pac10 for certain reasons.

If you think it is the right guy...you pay him.

That is in interesting way to look at it, I don't think the hire calmed the fan base but I see what you mean.  I think that is what SE thought would happen and I also think SE wanted an established coached that he could not have to "worry" about or even work with.

I get what you are saying but that means you are making one hire in hopes of getting the hire you think you want at a later date.  

You get an AD in...and if he/she thinks that Frost is the best choice...you make the offer.  If not...you offer whoever that best choice is.

I don't think Frost will take the job.  I also think he knows that this is probably his only chance to take it but I still don't think he takes it.

It is true...go back and look when he was hired.  The closest that any fan was to be thrilled was one of these two posts.

1.  I am willing to give him a chance, anything is better than Bo and his attitude

2.  I did some research and found these links to some stories about how MR is a super good coach.

It was a bad hire by an AD that was a bad AD.  We all knew the hire was lame we all just tried convincing ourselves that it wasn't.

Uggggg...He had BC's players for about 3 years, tops...He won with them...he won with his own.  He is a better coach than Riley.  It is okay to admit that.

What Riley is doing is embarrassing...not what Bo did
