She described a "McMansion" starting at around 3,000 sq ft. That's not a ton of room. My house is 2,700  and we're actually waiting on drawings from a contractor now to add 600-700. We feel like we need the room, and only have three kids.

Would you like me to do the addition?  I have a hammer and like two screwdrivers.

  2. TO wasn't a good coach because of her demeanor...he was a good coach because he was good at coaching.

I have worked with yellers, screamers, laughers, butthurters, complainers, positive, negative, you name it.  The only thing I have ever noticed is that good coaches coach well...most will tell you that the best teachers make the best coaches.

Some of the most annoying coaches I have coached with were great at coaching.  Some of the nicest coaches I ever had were horrible.

The worst are the ones that cry to the officials all game.  I usually just walk away from them while the game is going on.

I've heard "McMansion" before but not defined those ways. Usually it was just referring to the large suburban subdivisions where homes have little-to-no design variety.

Yeah...like there were 8 types of homes in a subdivision with like 200 houses...so there was not a lot of differences.  They were usually "nice" and big too.  Like a non-starter home development.

I can't imagine why anyone would hate/be mad at another persons house.

Yeah, I agree.  Even Bo reaped the rewards from Callahan with his recruits from 08-10. Then, when he had his own players, we finally saw what kind of coach Pelini really was. Bottom line, you have to recruit your butt off at Nebraska. When we start establishing a winning culture and win the conference, it'll become easier to recruit here, IMO.

He had pretty much the same record every year.  I don't think it mattered if Bo had great players or average players...he was going to lose 4 games.

It's been that way for at least 25 years ago when I worked at McDonalds.

I wonder how many people had their first/High School job at McD's.

I didn't but one of my sisters did.  But I did work at a Brown's Chicken...not sure how many people know that place

Even though we watch from afar what Frost is doing at UCF, who knows what he would do here if HC.  Who wouldn't run a spread speed option attack, when you have pure speed at your hands to recruit?  UCF is a rare place to coach at.  I kind of liken it to North Dakota ST.  They are unique to where they are situated.  The Bison get great players from the midwest that are not wanted by Power 5 schools.  FCS, I know, but for the area, its all I can come up with at the moment.

I don't think that Frost just ended up at UCF by accident.  He knew the potential.

I agree with a lot of this.  UCF is not a sleeping giant BUT it has some positives.

This right here is what changed my mind about Riley. 1st year I’ll give anybody a pass especially with the divisive climate Pelini fostered. I got my hopes up 2nd year thinking things would have to get better with the improved recruiting and knowing that TA was not the type of QB they really desired and therefore couldn’t run the offense they wanted. Then year 3 hit....they’ve got the type of QB they want, they’re able to call the plays they want, they’ve shed bad ST and DC coaches and what has the result been? We’re headed in the wrong direction. The only thing more time for Riley will accomplish is more time until we start to see improvement.

I know that you have to break some eggs to make an omelette...but I feel like Riley is not going to make the omelette

What a blessing in disguise this could be. Riley goes back to OSU, he makes 1.5 millions, cuts Nebraska's payments in half to him for his buyout...

On a sour note, Anderson's failure could be partly due to Riley's losing culture that was cultivated for many years at OSU, hopefully Nebraska can rid itself of his loser mentality when he packs up his prius.

I don't think it will be all that bad, I think for the most part the players like and respect Riley.

  9. The Frost haters will tell you that UCF wasn't that bad when he got there...even though they went 0-12

Someone asked about a new offense and having to go play Michigan next year...well Frost took his new offense to Michigan last year and if I remember correctly the offense did okay.

I would rather buy early with Frost than I would miss out.  They are not just beating teams right now...they are f'ing them up

Ohio: Middle of the road MAC squad. YSU: FCS. Why didn't any FBS school snatch up the defensive genius that is Bo Pelini if he's THAT great? Do you think Callahan could be a successful FBS coach? I don't.

No, I don’t.  But it’s not like Solich is horrible.  His body of work is average to above average.  And sure bo is at a lower level but he is still winning.  I don’t think he is great, but he has a decent career record.  I have no idea why D1 schools have not snatched him up...maybe they have contacted him and he said he isn’t interested.
