Meh, my original comment was made 'tongue-in-cheek'.

Though, like the mansplaining thing, I don't find either one of their transgressions to be that big of a deal. What he said was rude, and kind of dumb. But that's it. As for her? I don't really care what she retweets to be honest. I laugh at racist jokes all the time. Even the one's made at my expense. Things are funny if you allow them to be. Her laughing at a racist joke doesn't make her racist, and him making a demeaning (i guess?) comment about women doesn't mean he has no respect for them.

How DARE YOU, sir.  How dare you laugh!

It'd be a remarkable failure to recognize neither issue, and instead interpret this whole thing as something only for "others" -- liberals -- to worry about.

Though tbh, Cam's offense seems clearly far worse than her RT.

    Ohhhh...I disagree...

His response was stupid and childish but it was on the spot ( i bet he thought he was being clever...when he was really being a loser)...she actually had to read a tweet, laugh about it...think if she should retweet it because it was so funny because it was racist...then she had to hit RT...then she probably ended up with like 20 plus notifications about it which means she saw it over and over but still left it there...meaning that she still thought it was not only super funny but totally okay.

Cam is an a-hole, 100% for sure.  He thinks he is better than most people and especially women...that is clear.  But hers is way worse, it is beside the point and should have a thread all to its own but that is also beside the point.

This is not a conservative or liberal issue (both terms that don't mean what people really think they mean anymore) but this is an issue of two people that are a$$hole$.

Somewhat related, I will cook two hot dogs in the microwave, and throw them in a burrito tortilla with some cheese, and it's a hot dog burrito.

Ummm...are you short on cash?  Do you need a few dollars?  Text me

If frost stays on upward trajectory that he is now and say he ends up at nebraska as head coach. I would think Parrella would have legit shot because he is nebraska Alum. too. Not to mention Frost is running a 3-4 defense as well so Parrella would fit the mold for coaching that front.

PS. I will admit i was hesitant about Frost. But seeing what he is doing now- if he can finish the year this strong he could draw comparisons to Tom Herman and Urban Meyer.

    Yeah...I would rather "buy" early...

So....let me get this straight.  She was in a press conference with Cam, she asked a professional question about the sport.  Cam was a total jackass to her....showing the true type of man he is......and now SHE is the one being attacked?

It amazes me how I can be so surprised day in and day out in this world we live in.

Whoever dug up those is a disgusting idiot because their only purpose was to denigrate her and take the heat off of how he treated her in a professional situation.

I wonder how long they had to search to find tweets from 4 years ago...good lord I can't find a tweet from this morning

My vote would be bitter-man babies.

Cam made himself look like an idiot with his choice and now ass clowns feel it's necessary to bring it full circle back on the reporter. It'd be one thing if she sought out Cam to make him look like an idiot but she didn't. She asked him a question.

She could be the most racist person in the world. That doesn't change or impact Cam's words in any way, in my opinion.

This is a really good point.  If these tweets are racist (no clue because I didn't see them) then well she is a racist loser but like you said...still doesn't change what Cam said.

He made a fool out of himself...

I think it's okay for him to make that reply and be cute to a kid. When 10 year old kids are knowledgeable or seem knowledgeable about something many 10 year olds aren, it's impressive and surprising.

The same response by Cam isn't appropriate to an adult female sports reporter. It's no longer cute, it's patronizing.

I totally agree that his response was stupid and not appropriate and I wasn't trying to say it was okay.   He sounded like an idiot.

I am just wondering if he sort of did the same thing to a kid if people would freak.  I think there would be a big portion that would.   I suppose it might depend on HOW it came off, you know?

I think back to Frank Martin and this:

    That was awesome!

Now...if Cam did what he did to a kid asking about routes...I think Cam would be raked over the coals today.

Do you think people should react the same way if it's said to a 10 year old?

I really don't know.  I think, this is just a guess, that there would be some people that would think it was him trying to be "cute" you know?  But I think that since it would be a kid asking...that he would be crucified today.

    What do you think?

I'd like you to think for a few minutes about this question you're asking.

    Okay...I did that.

So I wonder, again, would people be mad at him?  I think it was a stupid answer the first time, to the female reporter.  Had he sort of "dressed down" a kid reporter, done the "Ha...it is funny hearing a little kid talk about routes" would he be getting creamed today?

    Right.

so to answer the question, if riley is let go, will the new head coach have it easier in recruiting now or after the previous regime?

I guess that statement I am trying to make is that if we get a new coach, I'd be shocked to see  Recruiting become difficult again.  Riley has shown that we can still get doors opened up.

I think easier...but with much greater expectations.

Not sure if I would call it "momentum" but more so doing what is expected to be done in order to compete for top recruits. To the second half of your point I agree, since there wasn't much of a pipeline, if any, with Pelini i would think the next HC would have an easier job in competing with top recruits compared to Riley when he started.

    I agree.

I think the next coach needs to have NU as top 3 in the Big Ten about every other year.
