I agree 100% and when I was part of the 20 something crowd, participated.  The die hards need to realize they are not going to get "everyone" to participate.  My guess is that most students and younger fans will have fun with things like this.  The older you get on the "fan" timeline, the more they want to just see a win and the "other stuff" is not as important.  Personally, I enjoy the tailgate we put on in Haymarket Park more than I do the games, especially the last 10 years or so.  We have met some great people and have a good time, and then when it is time to go to the game, the mood changes to bleh.

Exactly!  Going to the game, the pre-game stuff, the tailgating, bar-hopping, seeing all the fans, hearing Gooooo-Big- Red chants, that is what makes it freaking awesome.  Anything on top of that is gravy.

I think all she is saying is she doesn't care what this guy is called as long as a person of middle eastern decent doing this exact same thing is labeled the same way as this guy.

Yeah, I get that...but I really care zero what some f'ing a-hole killer is called by the media as long as the a-hole son of a bitch is dead  on the scene or brought to justice and executed.  Just like I don't care at all if later on the a$$hole$ family tells me "he was really such a nice soft spoken person".  My biggest concern isn't what they may or may not be called.  I can't imagine that anyone that lost someone in this shooting the other day cares either.

  3. It isn't a gimmick as in trying to sell tickets or get the crowd into it...it is fun.  For years and years schools have done things like this to make it even more fun.  Painting your face, going topless (hot girls only please), spelling something out on your chest with your friends, holding up signs with a big group or even pranking others.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4kai4FL0MQ

I mean...this is not a big deal in the sense that it is "bad" or "wrong"...it is fun, college games are fun, this is not super serious stuff.  Good gravy and cream cheese people...fans show up in gorilla costumes!

How do we know other Power 5 schools even have him on their short lists?

That is a good question.  This is just a guess but if I was an AD...my short list would be in two parts.

    Part I:  Established HC's

Part II:  Coordinators that have worked with established HC's

I think that Frost would fall into category II as of right now.  So I think he would be on the longer portion of the short list.

I'm sorry, but it's not. It's pretty much exactly the point your trying to make. But you're  hung up on the fact that one group over generalizes/ over reacts, and you (sarcastically I think) are suggestion the antithesis of that group to do the same.

I agree it's BS that people automatically jump to calling it terrorism.

    Yep and yep.

He had to move away from Columbus because of tOSU fans harassing the hell out of him thinking he betrayed the school because he'd try too hard to not show a bias towards them.

    Yeah, off to Tennessee.

Here's the problem; If he's not affiliated with any group, and didn't explicitly state his intentions how is it anything other than a mass murder? Terrorism needs a motive, movement, something political to terrorize people about before it's terrorism.

Because that doesn't fit what some people want...even though it is true.

Was Gacey a terrorist?  Nope...he was a piece of s#!t animal that killed  35 teens and deserved to die in a manner more gruesome than what he got.

If there is not a political aim behind it...it isn't the "T" word.

This f'ing loser, right now, is just that...a f'ing loser.  If they find out he did this to send a political message then he is a terrorist.

This isn't hard and it doesn't need to be.

  8. I guess the best part would be that if NU hired Frost we wouldn't have posters posting things like "I had to google his name to see who he was"

Frost has done a really good job so far.  I, like another poster, also think that USF will beat them down at the end of the year.  Especially since they still have Quinten Flowers...who I am pretty sure was in the same high school as Frost.  He has been there FOREVER

Seems about right, this is supposed to be from around 1985, I would have been 10.  About that time we took a field trip to the Hastings Museum and stopped at McDs for lunch.  For some reason my parents gave me more money than I needed so I ordered a Big Mac, I was stunned at how big it was and didn't come close to finishing.

Bend and don't break......This defense is designed to give up FGs and not TDs.  I freakin' hate it.

I have been a really bad football coach for a lot of years and I have used both philosophies.  They both work and they both don't work.  Usually it depends on the players you have.  This year, we press and get so physical at the LOS and it works for us.  We actually had a DB jump offsides this year because they were so amped up to jam the WR...we also bring a lot of pressure.  It has been working.  But the bend-D works too.  It really just depends.

Um if we are going to go after Frost we better do it sooner rather then later. He is starting to really turn things around at UCF and is getting nationally recognized. He is easily top 3-5 up and coming young head coaches that will probably get looked at by some of the bigger schools this off season.

Not a lot of big jobs open.

    Nebraska

    Tennessee

    LSU

    Ole Miss

    Texas AM

I mean...not bad at all for NU

  12. Here is the thing with playing a crappy offense...you are supposed to shut them down and the Huskers have.

Diaco very clearly has a plan and it has been working as of late.  I like how he uses his blitzes.

I think the most telling thing is that right now, when the other team gets the ball in plus territory, the defense responds very well.
