Yeah, he didn't seem to be enjoying himself. He should've felt good about this game especially after those first four performances. It appears the writing is on the wall.
He already knows...it sucks to win when you know it is over.

There is nothing to complain about in this game at all. Nice win on the road on short rest. I was impressed with it and really this is the formula for Riley and has been since he got here.

Langs is gonna langs...I think he gets paid by the hour

People wondered why he didn't play.

Play tight man please. Send so much pepper (blitzes) that the qb dont know what hit him
Ha! Pepper! I love it!
I have never heard it called that! Lightening, Fire, Flash, Go, Plug...But never Pepper...I am going to use that!

Weird...no killer instinct?

Because Illini will be demoralized or you think it will be an indication of how the game will go?
Not so much that...I think that Diaco does a good job of figuring out the offense AFTER the first drive...I think once the offense is trying to make adjustments to him he excels. I think if they stop them on their first drive it plays to his strengths.
-
I will stick with my thoughts...if the Illini don't score on their first possession they won't get over 13 points and this will be a slow cake walk.
If the Illini score on their first drive...get ready for badness
-
It might just be me wanting to bet this game so badly but man it seems like a 27-13 kind of win for the Huskers. Kind of like me in college, I can't find a reason why the Illini will score a lot.

Does anyone on here really know anything about ADs? Who are the top available guys?
Not really, I mean most college football fans don't know AD's of other schools unless they got canned or got in trouble.

Most podcasts that have "insiders" liked Illinois in this spot OR they said to stay away. Not a lot of NU love from the ones I have heard.
I personally think that the 2 weeks of prep is overrated. You are who you are by this time and there is only so much you will change or clean up. It helps in the health department but Illinois is so young I am betting that they would rather have had a game than a bye.
I have not bet this just yet but I can't see the Illini scoring over 24. So now you just have to ask yourself how you think the Husker offense will do.
My thought for the game. If the Illini do not score on their first possession...they will end up with less than 13 points for the game.

Agreed, There is not going to be any firing until the end of the season and really even then it is still up in the air.

Martinez was a good passer if you didn't ask him to throw over 15 yards. He was a 10% passer between 15-20 yards and a 16% passer over 20 yards.
The 45 fumbles is still almost unbelievable. I can't imagine that not being the all-time record.
The freaky part was how many he or NU recovered.

If that is the case that it never ceases to amaze me how much history repeats itself, didn't Pedey send a private jet to pick up Houston Nutt at Arkansas only for the jet to come back empty? That after firing a coach who had just finished one year with his retooled assistant coordinators, including a new DC?
Also, this feels like the "Go get a Nebraska guy" part of the cycle where all the fans want a particular guy, the AD is fired and they go get that guy everybody wants. Pelini last cycle, Frost this cycle.
Yeah, I get what you are saying BUT (huge but) if they do get Frost and his does well here he will be here for 25 years...he wouldn't leave for another job if he was winning the West every other year. You know?

Might be a tough sell to not only fire all those dudes but then hire better ones when they know MR would really just have that one season to produce.

If they are using a top notch searching service that service will provide the personnel that best fits Nebraska both for AD and coach.
No kidding...I mean I think they find coaches that would say yes for sure...if not they would just hand the new AD this list
1. Saban
2. Meyer
3. Sweeney
4. George Halas Zombie
5. Belichek

And we all know that would be your answer if he went undefeated the rest of the way and won the conference.
I would hope so!

You can him...you don't let 17-18 year olds hold the program hostage. Shoot, history tells us that what, 40% of those recruits will never do anything.

Pretty simple. IF your top choice tutns you down, you ask your 2nd choice. So on and so forth. Or just go the Eichorst route and ask your 10th choice right out of the gate.
This is so funny!

I am maybe one of the few that thinks he will turn down the job.
Just a guess...but if they are using a firm wouldn't that firm give a list of like 3-5 coaches that WOULD take the job?

Ill has had 2 weeks to prepare - this is a short week for NU. So we'll see if Lovie has some surprises that can turn his O around. If they can rattle Lee and then crowd the line against our running game - they will have a chance.
Question: If Lee throws an interception in quarter 1 or 2 - do you think MR will pull him for O'Brien?
I don't think they pull him unless he sucks AND it is out of hand.
