Watching Bama and UGA, you need to be able to pass the ball down field to have a chance to beat them, and your TE needs to be a threat in the passing game. Used to be a run the ball guy, but if we are to eventually step up in competition we need to be able to throw the ball.

Here are my thoughts on potentially why Allen and the other TE's weren't targeted as much as we expected in 2021.
1) Tight ends are most effective in play action passes, but PAP's require longer protection from the offensive line, and we know that was a weak point in 2021.
2) Going into the season NU was going to use a lot of 2 Tight End sets with Allen being used all over the field to exploit mismatches. However, with Vokalek's injury in the first half of the season, that limited the 2 tight end sets which could be used and Allen had to be used on more traditional TE roles.
3) Passing to the tight end over the middle can sometimes require the pass to be fit into tight windows within coverage. We know that wasn't Martinez's strong suit, and AM was consistently told to limit the turnovers. So, AM might have had an initial read with Allen, but gone off him if Allen wasn't wide open.
4) Teams may have been sliding coverages to Allen early in the season, to force unknown NU receivers to make plays. Toure might have been a big beneficiary of more attention paid to Allen, and was able to find a lot of open spots deep, behind the coverage going to Allen.
5) Frost is a piss poor playcaller
6) Frost is a bad coach who's offense doesn't work. And instead of falling on his sword and say "my offense doesn't work," he throws his offensive staff under the bus and fires them, as though he wasn't the idiot calling the plays.
**Sorry man Frost hasn't done anything to earn the benefit of the doubt.

You going to sit here and tell me we used him to the extent we should have?
This is what pisses me off about this year. Going into the year we knew we had a NFL caliber TEs, and we were told that they would be used more as a primary read on plays, but we never consistently targeted them, and it's a damn shame.

We are a lateral move at best. More likely a downgrade . He’s elite program bound.
Agreed if he was an offensive player, but our defense is likely to produce at least 4 guys drafted (DD, Domann, Taylor, and Williams; also maybe Stiller.)

For up-to-date information on the James Webb Telescope.

Wouldn't be surprised if Haarberg gets the start. Looks like a less polished but more athletic Pickett.
While I'd like to get a QB, I'm more enamored with getting OL (because we have legit backs), and some edge rushers.

Great explanation of James Webb Telescope

Saw it. It is definitely one of Marvels best, and maybe even better than Endgame.

Wouldn't have expected Luxembourg to have the largest space budget per capita in the world and is a leading country for space mining.

Both need to go ham in the weight room & training table. Maybe get slipped a couple of those old school Nebraska vitamins
I hope they move Brewington back to reciever and maybe have him backup Betts. Dude could be a beast on WR screens.

Plays a lot DT in his highlights. Is that the side of the ball we are recruiting him for?

Really like C. Brewington, really hope this new offense takes advantage of his skill set.

Kid looks good. Really like his plays all over the field.

Don't understand why folks want to move beckton if he produced an all conference TE.

Think someone said he has health issues, curious if he would become an analyst.

Really hoping Frost coaches special teams. Think it will get him away from micromanaging the offensive, and show players the importance of the units.

Maybe in all honesty, it's nothing more than the players saying to Trev you fired the wrong guys. Maybe the culture issue with Frost. Maybe they told Trev the staff was great. They deserved another year.
Forgot who was the player, but a former WR, stated something similar after Walters got the boot.

Do we have the personnel to run Korn/Coastal Carolina's offense? Would think there linemen are shorter on average and more mobile than ours.

Miss this kid already, but can't blame him. He and Nebraska had gone as far as they were going to go. Best of luck kid.

If they want to run the option, I would expect they'll give Emory Jones at Florida a hard look.

Don't know what to think about Busch coaching part of the secondary. But it seems if Dawson is coaching the front, we are most likely moving to an even front as base defense.
