I hope he actually gets some more carries.  The way Held has been zigging and zagging our rb's I'm surprised he hasn't been given more of a shot or at least a few more touches.

Fingers crossed we're going to I-formation and he's the lead blocker for R. Johnson.

No offense to Chinander, but we need a big name who is a proven recruiter. I like him as a DC, but as a HC? No.

Many folks are blowing off our current lowly recruiting class as “no big deal,” but those folks are fooling themselves.

I think the recruiting thing is being overblown. While some level of talent is needed, development is needed more. Can't think of any team in our division that out recruits us annually, and yet we are the new whipping boy. Chins has something going where he able to develop a defense of mostly 3 players into something special.

I hate the argument of "consistency".  Nothing against Chins, because he has improved the defense a ton.  But, at this point, NU needs a totally new voice at the top, and Chins would be too similar to the Frost voice.

But you can get a new voice with Chins at the helm. This defense is playing at an elite level, without a legit pass rusher, I would be hard-pressed to throw that away. Besides it worked well with Dabo. And getting the right Off. Coordinator with this defense would make us a mean team.

Yes, it will be unfortunate, but having a great head coach is more important than a good/great DC.

I'm all for giving Chins his shot at HC. Our defense likely wouldn't take a step back, and he would give consistency. Furthermore, after four years he knows the BigTen.

Pay him $3M a year until he proves himself as a HC and call it a day.

Firing Frost would set us back? Back to what? Missing bowl games? Finishing unranked? Being out of conference championship talk after 2 conference games? He is staring directly at the worst win % of any head football coach at NU. Our defense loses both safeties, MLB depth, Stille, domann, possibly CTB. This should be the year that things click. 4 years to recruit to your system, 4 years to identify and fix deficiencies etc. Why didn't Riley get 5 years to fix the Pelini culture? Why didn't Callahan get more time to install his system and make more changes? Let's be honest if our HC wasn't named Scott Frost every single one of you would be calling for his head. It really is that simple.

    Amen. Frost needs to go!

What part of his post game statement of, in essence, 'we need to practice harder,' makes anyone believe things are going to change?

Think about this, it is year 4 and the expectation for Frost to keep his job is being bowl eligible. That's it. Winning 6 games.

No program should tolerate that low of an expectation in year 4.  Frost hasn't even matched the record of Riley's second worst season. He needs to go!

  6. It's time for Frost to go. Hearing his post game presser he was a man without answers and when he did it was blame on the players or we need to double down on what they do are already doing. Why can't he build a scheme around his best players? He did it with Wandale, why is he so afraid to feature Toure, our TEs, or whomever they think our best players are?

And enough about the special teams. Yes they are crap, but what offense can't consistently put up more than 21 or 28 points?! I don't get that. Frost was hired because of his acumen on offense and his offense consistently under performs.

  7. This game isn't on Adrian. If anything he has been the reason our offense has done anything. Blame o-line and scheme. Still don't understand the rotation at WR or RB, or why our TEs aren't consistently targeted.

  8. Keep seeing comments about needing to get a special teams coordinator, and I don't think we need one. We definitely need a kicker and a punt returner that makes good decisions, but beyond that I don't think we need much.  Our coverage has been decent, kickoffs have mostly gone through the end zone, and our new punter seems more than decent. If Verduzco were to get booted or demoted to analyst, would prefer we get an interior or exterior o-line coach.

  9. -If Austin didn't have two guys drafted last year, I'd say 'leave his a$$ in Norman.'

-Piper cost us yet again. Him getting bulldozed on that extra point turned the tide is the game, and reflects his play all year.

-Culp mentally may never recover from this.

-THE DEFENSE HAS NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF!!!

-Also, if Rahmir is your guy, why hasn't he started all year?
