What makes it sound like that?

My source said it sounds like Georgia is running out if money.

My source is a guy at work.

His source is a guy who pays for all the premium recruiting service sites (dork).

I said this before he committed, but I was told I was wrong.  I could not find the article, so I let it be.  I think the move to Georgia made him home sick.

    Here, have a trophy!

I like the volleyball team, but they should announce it as soon as they know.

Ladies playing sports is perfectly fine nowadays.  Absolutely nothing wrong with it!  Anyone who says different is a real jerk!

But high school football recruiting is way more interesting.

  4. There was a lot more buzz when Frost was hired imo.

There will be a bit of a spike if Raiola commits, but nothing compared to Frost.

Already hearing McCord is out, assuming that means Fleming is out too?

There's an old saying about counting your chickens or some such.

Yeah unfortunately I don't believe that Fred Hoiberg will be around much longer other then this season which sucks.  We all knew it was going to be hard to turn the basketball program around but a lot of people believed that Fred could do it bc of his success at Iowa State.  It just hasn't happened.  I don't who Nebraska can find to put some excitement back into the basketball program but looking forward to change.

Turn it around?   The Tim Miles era was a thousand times better.

I can agree with those points.

I just don't know what the "fire Raiola" crowd is expecting from largely the same players we've had for 3+ years and a bunch of unproven underclassmen? The impression I get is that the expectation is that all of a sudden the next coach will turn us into the 80-90s offensive line groups, stocked full of all-conference linemen. I think continuity with staff and scheme are very important to building any kind of sustained success.

When Raiola was hired I didn't expect much development on the offensive line since he has never proved he could develop linemen.  I just expected it to be a long shot gimmick to get his nephew.  And hey what do you know, not much development on the offensive line the last couple years, and no nephew.

It's not so much that he's not meeting impossibly high expectations.   The problem is we're getting precisely what we should have expected.

  7. I think we can fairly object to the notion that Haarberg is as bad as Sims.

They have some similar limitations to be sure, but Sims is much more of a liability.  Haarberg can at least manage the offense well enough the pull off the occasional sustained drive.  Sims can't even be trusted to take a snap or hand the ball off correctly; things that should have been mastered in 7th grade. That's not even getting into the extreme turnover rate.  He puts the team in holes too deep to climb out of.

Yet there are people complaining that our defense only looks good 'cause these offenses suck. As if we've consistently won these games lately.

The Husker radio guys were saying Purdue was averaging about 24 points a game coming in.  The defense held them to 6.  Sims gave up as many points as the defense.

Also consider all the bad spots the offense has been putting the defense in, yeah, they're playing out of their minds.  The complainers are probably Chinander fans.

Two games that were the first under an entirely new coaching staff for the program.  They are not even in the Minnesota game without Sims legs.

Its fine if they stick with HH, but wondering about the performance of Sims after everything has stabilized is not unreasonable in my opinion.

HH is not very good.  It’s likely Sims is not either, but it’d be interesting to see him get a series or two.  That being said, I trust the coaches are making the decision they feel gives them the best chance to win.

Haarberg gives the team a significantly better chance to win games.  It's not up for debate, really.  Pining for Sims to play only makes sense if you want Nebraska to lose.
