He even got a kick out of the fact that one of the Texas defenders held up his hands and said "They're passing, they're passing!" when Lee came into the huddle.
Heh!
Which is why the zone read was almost working with Zac in the game.
It's called balance Dr. Watson.

They looked good against Washington and K-State. They looked awful against Texas. They just need to be more consistant. Give Mack Brown some credit, he had his boys ready. Pelini didn't.

FOR THE LOVE OF SWEET BABY JESUS, SOMEBODY PLEASE GIVE THE BALL TO THE FULLBACK!!!

**correction**
The helmet-to-helmet hit on Joshua Cribbs (not Jerome Harrison) was legal because he was a ball carrier and not a defenseless receiver. Both hits were 100% legal.
The $75,000 fine was complete BS. And trust me, I'm no Steelers fan.

Oregon will lose a game. Probably against Oregon State at the end of the year. The Pac-10 is wacky like that.

As the gophers pointed out, anybody can slap a gopher sticker on their aircraft. A king air doesn't really strike me as a university owned aircraft. It's possible, but I would bet it's a doctor. 110% of king airs are owned by doctors.
60% of the time, it works every time.

Haha. All these rule changes are making the NFL unwatchable.
I would usually agree with you but I think this is the first time I understand and almost completely agree with what they are trying to do. I just hope they remember there is a difference between leading with your head or targeting the head, and being taller than your opponent and incidentally hitting his head.
I was mostly refering to the incident where that Harrison from the Steelers got fined $75,000 for a perfectly legal, clean hit. Now they're going to start suspending players for "devastating hits" not just head shots.
It's just no longer the game I grew up watching.
Ndamukong Suh might as well just retire now lol.
I don't think that was legal at all. I don't think it is called the National Kill League. The one where is the WR was almost knocked out? Massouqui??? I guess we all have different opinions but now I see Rodney Harrison is having second thoughts on doing the whole dirty player thing. I never respected Harrison since he was a dirty, dirty player. He now wants to say he is sorry for trying to end players careers? Tackle football is brutal enough but when you go for the head it bad news.
I grew up watching players like Aikman and Steve Young, they both had to end their careers early do to concussions.
Take a look at the helmet to helmet hit on Bradford by a charger. It was so hard on the helmet that Bradford's helmet flew off. Not even a flag or not even a mention on the 24 hour loop on Espn all day yesterday.
James Harrison's hit on Massouqui was perfectly legal. Brutal hit, but legal all the same. He shouldn't have gotten fined for that one.
The hit on Jerome Harrison wasn't legal, it was a helmet-to-helmet shot. But I wouldn't call it dirty, it appeared unintentional.
My problem is the NFL coming out saying they're going to start suspending players for "devastating hits" effective immediately. What a load of garbage. Devastating hits are part of the game. These guys know what they're getting into when they sign those multi-million dollar contracts.
Nobody hates these rule changes more than Aikman. You ever listen to him call a game? He's disgusted how the game is watered down now.

I'm over it. I just have some real sh*t going on in my life right now, and it really puts things into perspective. If the worst thing that happens to us is our boys lose a football game, then we have pretty damn good lives.
GO BIG RED!
As much as I wanted to beat Texas I totally agree. It's a game and as a Husker fan I think it's safe to say we've got it and have had it pretty darn good.
GBR! On to Oklahoma State...
Don't get me wrong I really, REALLY wanted to beat Texas, and sure it hurt. But there's something to be said about losing with grace. Not just as players and coaches, but as fans. I was just upset as anyone, I said and posted stuff I really regret. But the world is still spinning and we got another HUGE game coming up. I'm excited for next week.
GBR!

Did Bo pee himself?
I know I did.

Watch this for three hours and you see how I spent my afternoon yesterday:
It's so appropriate you can see Texas and Nebraska on the map by his face.
And on the other wall there's a picture of Niles.

Martinez didn't seem to pout or throw a fit. Just Taylor being Taylor. He's the same way when he breaks an 80 yard TD run. Ice in his viens.
I think it's a fantastic characteristic for a freshman QB to have.
And yes he has A LOT of room to grow. The sky's the limit.
-
Nope. I would be disappointed with anything under 11 wins though.
It's funny, under Bo it seems like we slump in October and finish really strong. Part of it has been the schedule obviously. If we win our next two games we'll be in really good shape.
-
AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible decision. They should have just put Taylor in better position to make plays with his legs. How about some roll outs or some bootlegs? How about some option plays? We ran that weird option out of the shotgun with Zac all the time last year. Why not try it with a QB who... ya know.... CAN ACTUALLY RUN?
That zone read got really old after it was obvious to everyone in the stadium (except Shawn Watson) that Texas just wasn't going to fall for it.
If they wanted to bench someone bench Thenarse and/or Paul. Why Taylor? That made no sense at all.
-
Texas didn't manhandle us.
What game were you watching? Our lineman were manhandled on both sides of the ball.
-
Taylor gives us the best chance to win. We're obviously not suited to be a passing team. I don't believe Zac is a better passer anyways. We need to get away from running that zone read even when it fails though.
-
We should be worried about every game on the schedule. I sure am - already paid for Big 12 Championship tickets.
Missouri vs. Oklahoma State should be a fun time.
-
Keeping Watson.
-
It would be nice to have a go to receiver. Niles Paul will never need a flu shot because he probably couldn't catch that either!
We have one. His name is Mike Mcneill. Remember him? I know Shawn Watson doesn't.

And good luck to you.
I'm really interested to see the Blackmon vs. Amukamara matchup. Should be a good game.
